The Lynden KOA has been in operation since 1975. While we do strive to keep our entire property as manicured and well-maintained as possible, some things just won't stand the test of time. Our pull-thru sites are a perfect example of this. At one time, they were top-shelf accommodations in the camping world. They offered 30amp electric, city water, and sewer connections, as well as fully curbed sites with lush green grass and a whopping 8x12 concrete patio. You heard that right, nearly 100 square feet of patio! Believe it or not, this was pretty high-class in 1975. Today, however, things have changed. Newer RVs, along with today's campers, are demanding more. They want 50amps. They want larger sites. They want that luxury feel.
Well, we have heard you loud and clear! We are making changes to the area of our campground, which used to be the focal point of our entire property. We are aiming to bring that back. Gone with the old and in with the new. We are bringing in additional power to supply all of our pull-thru sites with 50amps of power. We are also changing angles and spreading things out a little to provide bigger sites to accommodate larger RVs. Along with that, we are adding all new concrete. Those little 8x12 chunks of concrete are making way for freeform patios that range from 250-420 square feet.
On top of that, every pull-thru site will now feature a dedicated fire pit area. We are really excited about this project and we hope you will be too. We will be posting pictures of the progress in anticipation of the 2024 camping season.

Out with the old!
The 30 amp electric service and old water hydrants are all being replaced with 50amp pedestals with indirect lighting and new frost-free hydrants. Additional power is being supplied from a new electrical transformer. Long gone are those days of having marginal electric!
Here, we have completely eliminated 4 campsites to make room for the remaining sites to be enlarged. All of these sites will now be longer, wider and arranged at a better angle than they previously were. This will make room to accommodate larger RVs, as well as to let our campers stretch out their wings more than ever.
Here we go! With all the electric upgraded and installed, it is time to start laying out the new curbs and patios. This is going to be a lot of work! The new layout will allow campers to make their connections without feeling like they are encroaching on their neighbor's property.
Curves, LOTS of curves!
Here, we have some concrete being poured into the curbs.
Here, things are really starting to take shape. Each of these sites will have a dedicated fire feature. For those of you who know, that will be a very welcome addition.
Landscaping will be placed in these planting beds, as opposed to grass. Once the plantings take hold, it will add just one more level of seclusion and separation from your neighbors, and it should be a whole lot nicer to look at after we get into those hot summer months when grass inevitably turns that lovely shade of tan.
If you're a green thumb, we would love to hear some ideas for plantings that you may feel would work nicely in these areas. Send your suggestions to [email protected]. He would appreciate hearing from you!
Here is a sneak peek at those fire features we have been talking about. We sure hope you enjoy them!
We aren't finished yet!
That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
