Three wonderful days of peace and quiet!! I tent camped during the week!! It rained for all three days but the camp grounds scenery is beautiful so I did a lot of walking in the rain!! The facility grounds and buildings are so well maintained and sparkling clean and every staff member I met was so accommodating and kind. I had a wonderful experience there.Reserve a spot and ENJOY your stay..

This was a great stay. Super clean and very friendly staff. I loved my site being right by the pond as it was very peaceful and relaxing. The gravel pad was perfect for my tent. Having two picnic tables was great. Highly recommend this KOA.

Camping with a tent by the pond was absolutely perfect, the crisp fall weather in concert with the colors and smells of autumn � . I just needed a bugling elk at dusk and I would have bought the place

This is the CLEANEST KOA I’ve ever stayed at ever! The staff were so incredibly friendly and were so kind and helpful. This was the first time I’ve taken my husband tent camping since he lost most of his eyesight, but I wasn’t worried anymore when I met the staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Really convenient. Clean bathrooms, great location. The tent sites are close to the road so there is noise all night in those sites.

The tent site was very nice and the bathrooms clean. However, for tenters it would be nice if there was a closer restroom or even a port a potty.

Beautiful location and lovely tent site in the heart of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great access to the AT and James River. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Pool, site, and restrooms were all clean and very well maintained. One of the nicest KOA grounds I have visited and I’ll definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Perfect place to camp or RV. This camp has nice bath house and beautiful landscape and lots to do for kids from table games and jump house also 1 mile from Blue Ridge parkway.Staff was awesome and very knowledgeable about the whole area thanks to them I had a great bike ride.

This was my wife and I's first camping trip together. When we got there the staff was so friendly and helpful and clearly communicated what was happening that weekend. We would and will come back again, 10/10!

I loved staying at the campgrounds. It was my son’s first experience and he was ecstatic. We caught a few bluegills, set up a tent, and did a little exploring. I had an amazing time. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to consider kiln dried wood. I tried multiple options and still was unable to light the wood I purchased. My son became frustrated and scared because it was so dark.

The folks run in the campground are awesome and so friendly ! The campground was super clean, I was so impressed with the bath houses ! We will definitely be back, beautiful campground !

Great first time at a KOA! Staff was super friendly, and there were plenty of activities to partake in. Beautiful location with good amenities. Shoutout to Tony for being very welcoming from the begin and delivering us many bundles of firewood!

Great time. Loved the tent camping sites. Large, 2.parking spots, fire pit, 2 picnic tables.....right next to a fishing pond!! Great clean amenities, and plenty of activities to keep busy!!

The Highway is maybe 100 feet away with LOUD cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractor trailers ROARING ALL throughout the night. The staff let someone buy stuff on our credit card, without asking who they were. The BULLFROGS echo their croak ALL NIGHT and people were PARTYING until midnight. We wanted to leave after the first night but there is a 48 hour NO cancellation policy… VERY UNPLEASANT !

Absolutely beautiful campground. Appreciated the water & electricity at my tent site. My dog & I slept better here than anywhere else on our road trip. Thanks for the hospitality!

The staff was very friendly and made the stay a pleasure. We enjoyed the amenities and added events provided by the KOA. We would highly recommend the tent camping sites by the pond. Not only were they beautiful and quiet but our kids had a blast fishing.

Easy courteous warm welcome. Nice location only a mile off the parkway. I had a tent site on the pond. Nice level site and tent pad with water and electric. Very quiet but just know it is just off a main road so you will hear traffic but that did not impact my stay.

What more can I say. Perfect. All employees were awesome. Check-in was flawless. Grounds were clean. Restroom facilities were very clean. Campsite was exceptional. My grandsons , 2nd Visit loved it. Great play ground for children.

Clean campground & bathrooms, lots of outdoor activities. My only dislike is the bathrooms are all located near the cabins, campers and RV's. Those staying in tents (that have no bathroom) had to walk a pretty good distance to use the facilities. During the day that's not too bad, but in the middle of the night - it is. You almost had to head to the bathroom before you needed to go.

We arrived at night and were welcomed by the chorus of toads and frogs. We were pleasantly surprised to see how lovely the campground looked during sunrise. Even though it was raining, it was a very comfortable stay, thank you!!

The sites were huge and level! Wooded campgrounds and beautiful. The workers were friendly. I would stay again when in the area.

This is a very nice KOA Campground! All of the sites offer plenty of room with ample space. The owners are fantastic! The playground is awesome for the kids and the dog park is a nice plus for your furry friends! The location couldn't be any better. Only a 5 minute drive to the parkway and a 30 minute drive to the university. We will definitely be back.

Very well-kept campground. Bathrooms/showers were clean and well furnished. The campground itself was very well manicured and has been maintained perfectly. The WIFI was pretty good too. Definitely will be staying here again. Update 05/07/2026 Another great stay at this KOA the past seven days. It was exactly as it was the last time I stayed here. The campground is always in great condition, the campsites roomy and the staff was courteous, friendly and very helpful. My wife and I were able to hike quite a few miles on the Appalachian Trail as there are several trailheads close by. Glad I stayed here again and look forward to staying there in the future.
