Grace Dunne Richardson Park

Grace Dunne Richardson Park is one of two parks connected to the Azalea Trail. It is a great place to exercise with softball, soccer, basketball and volleyball and access the Azalea Trail for walking, jogging, and cycling. The park also has playground equipment, a gazebo, pavilion and a dog park with parking lot. The park is well suited for medium to large group events.

Morris Frank Park

Morris Frank Park is one of two parks primarily dedicated to team sports. Morris Frank Park has excellent baseball, softball, and soccer facilities. It hosts Garrison Field, home baseball field for the Lufkin Panthers, for the Lady Panther Softball Team and the Lufkin Little League. In addition, the park is connected by a trail to the Wetland Garden and Outdoor Classroom

Kit McConnico Park is one of two parks primarily dedicated to team sports. Kit McConnico Park has seven softball fields and eleven youth soccer fields. Restrooms and concessions compliment the area during league and tournament games. The Lufkin Bicycle Coalition continues to construct mountain bike trails in the park that depart from the southwest corner of the parking area near the maintenance building.

Azalea Trail

Azalea Trail

Lufkin's Azalea Trail is a 1.9 mile nature trail that runs from Grace Dunne Richardson Park to Kiwanis Park. The trail is limited to pedestrian and bicycle traffic and has an improved surface; portions are asphalt and the remainder is a packed and maintained dirt surface. The trail offers benches for enjoying nature along the way. There are scores of native plants to enjoy and there are small gardens of Azaleas and ornamental grasses that have been planted and are maintained by the City of Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department. The trail has security lighting along its entire length and there are call boxes located at strategic points along the trail for your security
