Additionally, visitors can explore the local towns of Milford and Seward for small business shopping opportunities before heading into the city of Lincoln, which is located 20 miles to the east. Thornridge Golf Course is a two-level layout course. This 9-hole course has a winding creek that crosses four fairways, with difficult blind shots on the bi-level holes and the midsize greens are full and smooth.

At the Nebraska National Guard Museum in Seward, their mission is to collect, access, preserve, store, account for, demilitarize and value historical artifacts and records for training, development and interpretation of the Nebraska Army and Air National Guard and the State of Nebraska military history and heritage of its Citizen-Soldiers and Airmen. The museum's goal is to educate and “tell the story” to the members of the Army and Air Guard and the general public about the heritage of the Nebraska National Guard in times of peace and war.

Close enough to the Utica exit on I-80 to make it an easy drive, but far enough away you won't be bothered by traffic noise, you'll find a picturesque 20-surface acre lake surrounded by trees and prairie grasses. A boat dock invites you to glide into the water in a kayak or canoe and enjoy paddling through the still waters. Smith Creek Recreation Area is frequently used for weekend camping and scouting adventures in the summer. In the fall, it's the perfect place to hunt, fish, hike and relax. The Smith Creek Recreation Area features a 20-surface-acre lake which stores 142 acre feet of water. Constructed in 1983, the Smith Creek dam and reservoir was designed primarily to provide aquifer recharge and recreational opportunities. Waterfowl hunting is permitted with the boundaries of the Smith Creek Recreation Area.

Located north of Interstate 80 and about 1/2 mile northwest of Pleasant Dale, NE. Twin Lakes is a wildlife management area consisting of 255 surface acres of lake and 1,270 acres of land. Only primitive camping is allowed at the park, and boating is limited to non-powered boats and conventional electric motors only. A State Park Permit is required for entry. Boat ramp, parking, tent camping.
Meadowlark is a 320-acre property including a lake of 55 surface acres. The lake is located in Seward County four miles west, one north and one mile west of Agnew. There are access roads along its southeast and southwest shores. (It's in the very northeast corner of Seward County) A concrete boat ramp and parking area are located near the west entrance (no wake boating). Many fish habitat improvements were made in 2006. The recreation area includes virgin prairie and a walnut plantation. Admission is free and no entry permit is required. Enjoy parking areas, boat ramp, no wake boating, tent camping, fire rings, fishing & hunting - Nebraska game permits are required for fishing and hunting. Entrances on the North side of Little Salt Rd—0.6 mile East of 154th Rd (-96.919105, 41.031445) and 1 mile East of 154th Rd (-96.911428, 41.031461); Additional parking available in lots on the South side of County Line Rd—0.8 mile East of 154th Rd (-96.914867, 41.046070) and 1 mile East of 154th Rd (-96.9114`13, 41.046050) * Fishing Regulations: Largemouth Bass—21-inch minimum length; Walleye/Saugeye—15-inch minimum length. No live baitfish may be used or possessed.
