Camping with Kids This Fall: A Few Fun Tips

Camping with kids is a great way to create lasting memories and while bonding with your family. But it's important to be prepared, especially if you're camping in the cooler months of fall. Here at the Hot Springs/ Black Hills KOA we have you covered!

Tips for Camping with Kids in the Fall

  • Choose the right campsite. If you have young children, you may want to choose a campsite that is close to the bathroom and other amenities. Don't hesitate to give us a call and get some individualized site recommendations for your family's needs.
  • Take advantage of the campground activities. We've got several options for some family fun! Come into the store for sport equipment of all sorts. We offer basketball, volley ball, horseshoes, corn hole, mini golf, and even crochet. Our large front fields are a perfect spot for a game of football or tag. Or just simply relax with a game of cards at your site picnic table.
  • Have a campfire. Campfires are a fun and traditional part of camping. Roast marshmallows, tell stories, and sing songs around the campfire. We offer fire wood delivered to your site, or feel free to  come on by our community fire pit behind the camp store. Don't worry if you forget the marshmallows; we've got you covered!

We're the perfect place to create lasting memories with your family. With our variety of campsites, amenities, and activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

We're especially excited for the fall season at the Hot Springs/Black Hills KOA. The leaves change color, the air gets crisp, and the campground is less crowded. It's the perfect time to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature.

So what are you waiting for? Book your camping trip today and start planning your fall adventure!
