The area was great and the hosts were very nice. Our stay included a visit from a moose in the campground on 2 different occasions. Great amenities, the only complaint was not hearing back from the owner in regard to a transgender male in the women’s facilities. I would still like to know if this is acceptable and would help me determine if I would return and if I would recommend this campground

Staff was great. Campers were also great. Facilities were very clean. We had an RV, but no vehicle and Greg (owner) drove us and picked us up a few miles away so we could go to an excursion. We really appreciate it and look forward to coming back again.

Beautiful views, peaceful stay. Appreciate the clean bathrooms and the TV room was great especially with the high winds.

Dog barked all night . Hosts did nothing. No toilet paper in stall in the morning. Light not working in showers. Entertainment at 5-6 Friday signing along. People are normally eating at that time ? Hosts not to polite . We will not be back. Back to Winding river. Polite folks and camping friendly .

We nearly had lost hope in KOA, memories from our childhood and camp events. But this KOA restored it all. The facility is wonderful and very well maintained. We stayed an extra day exploring the town and enjoying all the campground had to offer. This is definitely a 12/10 stay and highly recommended! The staff was extremely friendly too!

Always a great camp ground and well run! I would recommend that you have more wagons available to use for Tent sites 3-5 maybe around 4 or so, especially on Sundays where they were in heavy use, and one cart had blown tire as well. Other than that love the bear boxes! Those are fantastic!

The employees were exceptional in their care and information. The facilities were very clean and nice. Grounds were very nice and had some privacy between lots which is rare at a KOA.

Amazing KOA! Friendly, professional staff welcomed us, escorted us to our site, and even helped an elderly couple back in. The owner was wonderful. We saw a moose, mama bear with cubs, and a buck right from our campsite! Kids loved the fishing and games. Spotless showers, beautiful grounds, and exceptional service. One of the best KOAs we've visited—we'll definitely be back!

Everything was wonderful very clean and the staff was very friendly and polite and accommodating. The staff takes excellent care of the grounds and campsite.. ��� One major issue. WiFi no good in half of the campsites furthest from the office.

This is our 3rd or 4th yr coming up to Grand Lake/Rocky Mtn National KOA. We LOVE it! Our Happy Place away from home & cruising. Our cabin was clean & had a new mattress, cute window treatments & a new built-in nightstand! Close to a babbling brook as well as the bathrooms/showers. Staff was warm & friendly as always. Close to hiking & kayaking opportunities. Even saw a moose! just perfect!

We had a very enjoyable stay. The people running the campground were very friendly and helpful. Facilities (bathroom and showers) were very clean and well maintained. I would recommend this campground to anyone.

Excellent facility with private pads, surrounded by willows, conifers and deep green grass. We had camped here 23 years ago and it remains as we remembered it. We had a moose in camp along with the usual mule deer. Great spot. Only quibble: there could be more sites with sewer hookups.

Had a wonderful time. Had great sunsets and beautiful views. Saw tons of the beautiful Colorado animals and scenery nearby. The honey pot service was nice since we were unable to get full hookups. However, it was a little messy when dumping because the grey tank valve had not been completely shut. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we already have our reservations for next year.

Second stay and won’t be the last. The campground is basically meticulous w a small exception of two dryers which need to be replaced. The office kindly refunded a portion of my money however, time was still lost. The “staff” are the best of any KOA we’ve stayed at. All the best for 2026 and hope to see you again n 2027!

As beautiful as this was, the spots are very narrow! We will come back, just wish the spots were not so narrow! Seeing a Moose in our spot was absolutely AMAZING! Our grandchildren had a blast and so did we! Ty

Grand Lake KOA has a lot of small touches that make it stand out from other facilities--grills set up for campground use, a tv room, a game room, just to name a few. We had an issue at the campground and the owner and staff went above and beyond to help fix the situation. We would definitely stay at this park again.

A wonderful campground. Very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were very nice and clean. Courteous staff! Perfect location. And moose wander around how wonderful is that.

Great location, but the dirt roads makes it a very dirty/dusty campground. Campground needs a lot of TLC, the workmanship around the park is truly substandard. This is supposed to be a “Journey”, not sure why KOA gives it that rating.

One of the nicest, best laid out KOAs I’ve ever stayed at. Excellent separation between sites, lots of trees, very well maintained facilities, etc. And moose walking through the campsites is a bonus! Super nice, efficient and helpful staff and owner. I’d give it 6 stars if I could!

We were originally booked for one night as we were set to go to a backpacking site the next night. Due to weather, we decided to book an additional night at the KOA and were very glad we did. The sites were in good condition and the bathrooms were clean. It’s always nice to have showers after a long hike.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Great RV park with lovely, helpful staff and good and clean bathroom facilities. Located halfway between National park entrance and the town/lake. The park itself is very well maintained. Would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed about four nights at this KOA Campground. We were very happy with most parts of it. Restrooms were clean and spacious and water spigots were high enough for tall people like us and hot water was not a problem. Office Personnel were very nice, helpful and congenial. The grounds for the most part were well taken care of and maintained. Our main issue was the lack of maintenance of vegetation and branches on the site we had to back into. Branches scratched up our RV and we were not able to park our vehicle in the space with our trailer due to the untrimmed branches on either side of the RV spot. Otherwise, the Campground was nice to walk through, pleasant on the eyes, and very close to Rocky Mountain National Park which was a priority for us.

Instantly at home — a spotless, welcoming base for Rocky Mountain trips-. What a friendly welcome at the Grand Lake / Rocky Mountain National Park KOA Journey. You feel at home right away. The sites are exceptionally clean and lovingly set up. A really good fire pit with its own seating, and a second terrace with everything you could want for RV camping. The staff are exceptionally friendly, no matter where you're from, and help you with a smile at any time. The perfect RV campground for extended Rocky Mountain trips. So don't hesitate — just go.
