Campground Reviews

We had a trash bag on the top of the back of our truck, one of your camp workers offered to take our bag to the trash. We were impressed. Good job. Appreciated that small act of kindness.

Great place to stay

RV27 We enjoyed our site very much, in the upper loop. Bathrooms super clean. KOA staff cheery and welcoming. We saw a young antlered deer walking down the road and last day there was a Mama Moose and her baby chewing on leaves in the campground. Both were massive and what a sight to see ! An improvement to our site would be larger gravel. Our site was sandy, pea gravel. Many Happy Campers

Good place to stay, really kid friendly. Nice cabins, wish the fire ban was not in place for our stay, but who can control that.

We saw a moose in the campground!

First of all the employees make you feel like part of the family not a visitor, we were very impressed with each and everyone that we met including the owner. Our campsite had so many tall and full trees and bushes around it that it made us feel like we were all alone in the forest. The foliage also blocked sound from other campers. The place is immaculate and beautiful! We’ll definitely be bac

It was wonderful, as always! Our 9th year here. The new patios are great and the sites are so level. The grandkids love the playground and arcade. No moose this year, but there's always next year! Thank you so much for your hospitality and for an amazing weekend! So you next year for our 10th!

Always great place to stay. West entrance to RMNP is way easier to get in and out and easy access to Grand Lake for kayaking. Nice camping areas.

This was our 5th visit here. We really enjoy the amenities and the customer care that the team provided for us. See you in 2025!

Extremely helpful staff, premium patio sites with firepit were were laid out well, the grounds were very well maintained and the space between felt private. Lastly, proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Grand Lake made it convenient to see the sites.

Our tent blew over from a strong wind that came thru and one of the camp attendants/host came and helped us get it put back up in no time! We were grateful for his help as my Husband has had several back surgeries and isn't as able as he used to be.

It is a beautiful KOA sitting immediately outside the park. We saw a mama and baby moose 20 feet from our trailer! The staff is super friendly and the facilities very nice. My only reluctance in giving it a stellar review is that I don’t want it to get so busy that we can’t get a spot!

My boys and I have come two years in a row and we plan to make a third next year. I absolutely love this campground

We have stayed here 2x in the past year. Staff is always friendly, communicative and helpful. I’d point out 2 suggestions: 1. Please be more intentional on your reservation site to let campers know which sites do not have sewage dumping. 2. Our WiFi service was much more spotty than the first time we stayed. I’d strongly recommend an upgrade or expansion to improve coverage. We stayed at si

What a gorgeous KOA Campground! Quiet, lots of trees, spectacular views & a hop, skip & a jump to downtown Grand LaKe & the entrance to RMNP. This was our 2nd visit staying in their Cabins. The cabins are incredibly clean, well laid out & the queen mattress very comfortable! The bathrooms & showers squeaky clean & conveniently situated. Love the little babbling brook! Staff is awesome!

We were very disappointed when we arrived. We had booked site #8 a year ago, and then they told us that we were moved to site #1. We have a 39' 5th wheel, which we would like the 50amp hook up for. Site #1 had only 30amps available, and very limited space to be able to set up chairs and a grill. This said, The truck mounted in-bed camper took up site #8. They did not need 50amps. 2 dog limit-bs

Stayed for the evening and were out early the next day. Tent site was set up nicely, we were lucky to get one where we did not have to carry our stuff in, though they did have a wagon ready to do so! Staff was friendly upon arrival, facilities were clean and okay. We would stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

Very clean, quiet, well maintained. Beautiful setting with bushes between campsites.

There was a lot of bear activity. It’s unsafe for humans and bears. A bear got into people’s food both nights! That bear will need to be euthanized. Please get bear boxes for the campsites, give written notification about storing scented items and food, and have staff do a safety check mid-day and at night to make sure people are following protocol.

We have been traveling for 5 weeks staying at KOAs along the way. This stop was by far the best KOA we have ever been to! The campground was well maintained, lots were private and the access to the National Park was fantastic. We had such a great stay we moved sites just to stay another day!

We attempted to boondock in the area of Grand Lake but no sites were available, we called the KOA when we were only 10mins away and they had a place for us! Beautiful private spot with trees and a picnic table and fire pit, our site backed up to National Forest land. I liked the daily text messages, no other park does that.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Great RV park with lovely, helpful staff and good and clean bathroom facilities. Located halfway between National park entrance and the town/lake. The park itself is very well maintained. Would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed about four nights at this KOA Campground. We were very happy with most parts of it. Restrooms were clean and spacious and water spigots were high enough for tall people like us and hot water was not a problem. Office Personnel were very nice, helpful and congenial. The grounds for the most part were well taken care of and maintained. Our main issue was the lack of maintenance of vegetation and branches on the site we had to back into. Branches scratched up our RV and we were not able to park our vehicle in the space with our trailer due to the untrimmed branches on either side of the RV spot. Otherwise, the Campground was nice to walk through, pleasant on the eyes, and very close to Rocky Mountain National Park which was a priority for us.

Instantly at home — a spotless, welcoming base for Rocky Mountain trips-. What a friendly welcome at the Grand Lake / Rocky Mountain National Park KOA Journey. You feel at home right away. The sites are exceptionally clean and lovingly set up. A really good fire pit with its own seating, and a second terrace with everything you could want for RV camping. The staff are exceptionally friendly, no matter where you're from, and help you with a smile at any time. The perfect RV campground for extended Rocky Mountain trips. So don't hesitate — just go.
