Young lady at the counter very unfriendly, couldn't wait to rush us out so she could leave. Not the usual welcome i have received from Koa locations all over the east coast.

We arrived in the area three hours early .. we called ahead to ask if we could check in early .. we were advised that they were replacing gravel at the site so we could not check in more than two hours early .. we got there an hour and a half early and they charged me $10 fee for early check in. And by the way they did not replace any gravel at the site .. The fee should have been waved.

Our check-in hours are 2pm, this is posted on website, as well as notice of early check-in fees. we planned on gravel that day, but an emergency on the campground took priority. Check-out is not until 12pm, and staff need time to clean up sites to get it ready for the next guest.

I really liked this KOA. We were only passing through for one night, so we reserved a pull-thru with Paw Pen, so we wouldn’t have to set up our own dog fence. The site was really nice. It included a fire pit with chairs around it, and chairs around a table with umbrella. It faced the woods, so it felt private. The campground has lots of places for kids to play. My daughter enjoyed the playground

Helpful staff.. easy to get to from the north but tuff u turn on main highway to get into from the south.. ok for a nights stay.. train came buy couple times a day and night but really no problem.. but all in all an ok experience..

The staff is wonderful and the campground is easy to access off 95. Just know for an overnight stay it is perfect, but for longer stays there is a freight train that blows it horn behind the campground.

Just an overnight stop. I did miss not having an escort to our site but it was easy to find. Friendly staff.

This place is awesome! Right off I-95, tons of amenities, well laid out! It also has an awesome, huge pool, bouncepad for the kids, a dog park, laundry, and a bunch of other stuff! Overall, we'll absolutely be back here soon, and would highly recommend it. It is close to a train track! It didn't bother me at all, but it may bother some. 100% we'll be back! Thank you!

Very nice pool and facilities! We were impressed with the AC for the bathhouse. Staff wS very friendly. Some of the sites are a little tight but ok for 1-2 day stay.

Easy access from I95. Pretty bummed everything closed at 7pm. Great pull thru sites. Very small. Not much to do there for kids. That’s why we normally select KOA’s. IMO only good for overnight stays.

Very disappointed with the lack of interest for the 4th of July holiday. No effort made to display flags or holiday decor. Minimal interactive activities for campers. Campsite and facilities were clean and well maintained. This was not a good representation of a KOA holiday.

Beautiful area. We loved the train that ran behind. Our grandkids had fun hearing it and playing in the pool. Ashley at the front desk was amazing! We will be back next year.

Very friendly staff. Our kids loved the playground, courts, arcade, pool, and the bounce pad! The dogs enjoyed the dog park. Amenities were well maintained and clean. Highly recommend this park to families with kids of all ages and pets.

Pool was extremely hot, almost unusable. The jump pad was gross and our site did not have a fire ring or picnic table. Bathhouse was clean.

Thank you for staying with us, with the heat wave, the pool has been 84 degrees which is typical pool temps this time of year, your site you were in DID have a picnic table and fire ring, the site next to you did not, the jump pad is washed weekly, the stains are from weather/sun discolration.

We appreciated how clean and neat the campground was and that the showers were in their own room. The playground was nice and the rocks helped keep dirt down. We would have liked the pool to stay open later as we hit a lot of traffic on our way down and weren’t able to swim the first time we stayed at your campground due to arriving after 7pm. Sewer inlet was to high. The inlet didn't have threads on the inside to attach sewer hose. I tried to call the after hours number but it was disconnected. The office had no voicemail. The line just kept ringing and ringing.

Won't be back, checked in after 1:30 and charged 10 dollars per person late fee. Check in at 2 just to take customer money. Work staff seem to run campground for their benefit

Thank you for staying with us, you checked in at 12:30, early check-in fee was $10 flat (not per person) check-out is at 12 and check-in at 2 to allow staff to clean sites from previous night to ensure the next guest has a clean site. Our check-in times are posted online and office.

First time visitor. Location was perfect for this area of Richmond. Quick check in and able to find site readily. Stoned surface. Beautiful surroundings with a nice dog park next to the bouncey mat. Pool looked fine. Many areas to walk the dogs. Will be back!

We stayed overnight on the way to the beach. The pool was so nice and refreshing. The bathrooms were very clean. There is a train nearby but the sound never bothered us at all. It was a perfect place to stop.

Arrived on Sunday afternoon ~4 PM and found office CLOSED. Sign indicated Office closed at 2 PM. Had difficulty determining which sites were available. This is ridiculous! Office should be OPEN and available for Registration to at least 5 PM EVERY DAY. Though spouse and I have stayed here many times, this was our last. It appears the Management has changed and definitely NOT for the better.

We have stayed several times when traveling through the area. Many easy drive through sites. Park is well maintained and seems to be additions/improvements every year. Had a issue with the water spigot. It was fixed immediately and they checked back to make sure it worked.

The staff is friendly! The grounds are kept cleaning. But I don’t recommend this place for someone who wants to get a restful night sleep. It is too close to the railroad tracks and those trains run all night long. We would stay there again, just as an overnight stay if we were traveling long distance.

First time in probably 40 years I stayed at a KOA campground and it didn't disappoint!! Only had one issue and that was the permanent dumping connection at site 8 isn't permanently affixed....I had to push the connection back in at least once a day!! But I didn't end up with a mess and was thankful for that!! Other than that minor glitch, it was a perfect stay and we'll definitely be returning.

The Emporia KOA is located close to I-95 which make the campground a nice place for a stop over. Note that this park is open year round. The pool was not open yet as it was early April. Overall the park is clean and we'll maintained. The single drawback is the close proximity to a frequently used railroad. This should not stop anyone from enjoying this KOA though.

Great KOA tucked away in Emporia, VA. Big camping spaces, nice bath houses, and great amenities. Staff was friendly and facilities were cleaned.
