The Black Hills, especially the Custer area, is a beautiful Spring and Summer destination. The weather, however, can be slightly unpredictable.
To prepare for your visit, bring different layers as well as rain gear. While the mornings and evenings can get a chill in the air, the temperature can easily warm up to mid to upper-eighties during the peak summer months. Throw a light rain jacket and/or windbreaker in as well for those gusty days and rain showers.
That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
