RV Reviews

The park was good. The sites were very small for a big rig. Outside the rig were very un level and we could not have used our chairs comfortably. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks for the review, Brad. Our sites are all about 30'x60' but being built on the side of a hill, grassy areas may be sloped. We typically suggest you park your tow vehicle on the main road when you have a big rig to give you more room on your site. Apologies if you weren't given that info on ckin

Great base for fun hiking in the area. The hiking trail up to Trachyte Knob right there in the campsite was a great challenge and good fun. 3 minute drive to the trailhead for Horsethief Falls, which were awesome. And the campsite itself had as many amenities as any I’ve stayed at. Playgrounds and dog park and DVDs for rent at camp store! Good Verizon service too.

Quiet, well maintained camp.

We had a wonderful week with family! It was easy to check in, easy to pull our camper through, the bathrooms and showers were clean, staff was friendly, the shop was convenient, and the views were great!!!

Was a nice place to camp. Everyone was friendly. Pizza delivery was awesome. Will plan on coming back in the future.

Beautiful views surrounding my campsite.

The views were great, located between two old miners ghost towns and the facilities were kept clean.

Good stay! Great views and pizza on site!

Friendly staff very clean well maintained campground.

Beautiful location, great staff and owners, and centrally located to everything!

The views are stunning. The campground is very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the sites. They are stacked right upon each other. The pull-thru site was about 10' of gravel and another 10-12' of grass sloping down to the next site. It was also too short for my 35' 5th wheel and truck, No level place to put a chair.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Our sites are all about 60'x30', terraced on the side of a hill, providing for amazing views across the valley. We do recommend you park your tow vehicle in nearby parking when it doesn't fit on your site, however some folks prefer to squeeze em in.

Great campground. Sites were somewhat close together but were staggered up a hillside so everyone had a view over the valley. The hill was a climb if you were in the top sites. Terrific dog off leash area.

Absolutely beautiful! The grounds were clean. Did not use the bathroom/showers. The people were wonderful! I can't wait to go back.

Thank you for the excellent service and amazing views! We had a great time relaxing by the fire and enjoying the stars. The hummingbirds are a fun extra treat as well!

Amazing how the little things can be just as entertaining as the immense ones, isn't it?

Beautiful out of the way place. The weather was nice and cool while the rest of the country was sweltering.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Thanks, Doug! We are a great escape from the heat of the plains with highs in the 70s almost all summer long!

Cripple Creek was our very first KOA. visiting from the UK. On arrival the check in was very easy and professional, followed by amazing information by Connie to guide us to the local area and things to see and do. The site is clean and tidy and well maintained well laid out and made it easy for us to learn about RV kook ups etc. And now to enjoy the rest of our trip Would highly recommend

We're honored you chose us for your first KOA experience, John. Safe travels on the rest of your US tour and on your flight home!

The site was a little small but it was a a great place to camp.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you enjoyed your stay, Nick! Our sites are all about 30x60, built for big-rigs of the past. Since we're terraced down the side of the hill, enlarging sites is unfortunately not an option. We do have long-term plans to add a few larger, new sites in the future.

Very nice campground. Staff was very nice too. My only suggestion would be that the place where the picnic table was located was on flat ground rather than on a steep angle. Table was almost unusable.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

Glad you enjoyed your stay, Tom! I appreciate the feedback on the picnic tables. Since we're on the side of a hill, yard area of our sites can be sloped (very sloped on some of them!). We're working on laying gravel pads for tables over time so they're more user-friendly.

Wonderful camping trip to get out of the Texas heat. Beautiful park, well maintained, and friendly staff.

All the staff were super nice. The camp was clean and well maintained. Even with the RV spots being pull through, they were fairly tight and close together. We enjoyed the pancake breakfast on Saturday morning...very delicious. We had a very nice time at the KOA when we weren't exploring the nearby towns and parks.

This KOA campground was beautiful! Very clean and well maintained. Roomy sites with beautiful views. The campground accommodates all types of travelers, beautiful cabins, tent sites, and RVs. The staff was extremely welcoming and very helpful in suggesting local attractions. We had a fabulous stay and would very highly recommend this Cripple Creek KOA!

First time to this area. Will stay longer next year.

The campground with spotlessly clean and very quiet and peaceful.

The weather was cold with rain and hail/snow but that's not the KOA fault!! The owner was VERY helpful as were most of the staff. The dog park was muddy but with all rain it's to be expected. We would stay here again!

Beautiful location, very well kept. The owners are on site and very involved so your stay is drama free. No t.v. radio signal as it is between mountains. Best KOA thus far.

We've been to this KOA once before, as tent campers. Memorial Day weekend 2026 was the first time in a cabin. It was wonderful!! The cost is so reasonable. It is a short walk to the bathrooms (but not so close that you hear everyone else going to the bathroom). The staff is super helpful and friendly. The kids and I had another amazing time!!

The world's highest KOA was central to Teller county hotspots like Victor and Cripple Creek. Great service and amenities, plenty to keep kids busy! We used one of the 50 amp RV sites which were full hookup. Our Solitude 5th Wheel is pushing 40' and the spaces are tight but doable. Plenty of 5th wheels and diesel pushers on site while we were there. Would stay again!
