Fish two reservoirs, hike five mountains, soak in hot springs, ride the Yampa Area Trails Systems in all manner of motorsport vehicles, wildlife watch and cruise the Historic Byway. If you'd rather stay in town, Craig boasts eight museums, an ice rink and wave pool. Come join us for whatever outdoor activity suits your fancy!
Located in historic downtown Craig, the Museum of Northwest Colorado is worth a visit. The museum features a large cowboy gear collection, including chaps, saddles, spurs, guns and other artifacts dating back to the 1800's.
Nestled in the Yampa Valley, the Wyman Living History Museum is a unique collection of American life, ingenuity and advancement over the past 100 years.

The Marcia car was the personal property of David H. Moffat, the namesake of Colorado's northwest corner, who brought the railroad from Denver to Craig. Tours are available May-September, Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm. Please visit the Craig Chamber of Commerce for more info and tours.
Take along a pair of binoculars and your camera and scan the open areas for the wild mustangs. From Craig, follow US Highway 40 west for 30 miles to Maybell. Turn right onto State Highway 318 for 18 miles to County Road 67, then turn right into Sand Wash Basin and follow the Wild Horse Loop.
