Meet Your Hosts

We want our campers to enjoy a stress free, family fun atmosphere to create those lasting memories.
One of the first things you will notice about the DeRosa family is the value they place on quality family time. When deciding what their next venture in life would be, Tom & Libby DeRosa, along with their triplets, Katie, Tommy and Micaela and their youngest son, Joshua, wanted it to involve the whole family."We knew we wanted a family business where everyone, including the kids, could participate and use their God given gifts and talents," said Libby. "KOA was a perfect fit because of our love for camping and the opportunity to spend family time together."
Their philosophy on family is what makes the campground so inviting. "We have always felt that spending time together as a family is important," said Libby. "We want our campers to enjoy a stress free, family fun atmosphere to create those lasting memories."
One activity that families can enjoy on the campground is picking blueberries that are ready to be picked from July to late August. "We have over 4 acres of u-pick blueberries on the campground," said Tom. "The Covert/South Haven area is famous for its blueberries and has come to be known as the Blueberry Capitol."
Before entering the camping industry, Tom was an engineer and Libby was a very busy stay at home mom and physical therapist.
In their spare time, Libby loves to garden, while Tom enjoys hunting. Tom is in the state record book for his 6 point deer that is showcased in the campground lodge, along with his elk and his brother's state record 33 point non-typical deer. As you walk the campground you will see many of Libby's landscaping projects, as she loves flowers.
UPDATE: 14 years have past since we opened the "doors" on the Covert/South Haven KOA and many of you have seen our 4 kids grow up right before your eyes. Well, we can tell you it has been a busy last couple of years. All 4 children were married between Aug. 2015 and June 2016. So we are now the proud parents of 4 additional children, wondering if it might be a Guinness record for most sibling weddings in a 10 month period of time. And in 2018, we welcomed our first two grandchildren, Brynn Elizabeth and Judah Robinson!! In 2019, we welcomed #3, Emery Ann and now in 2020, we will be welcoming two more boys, Katie & Trevor's second and Josh and Melissa's first. Tommy & Seralyn are the proud parents of Brynn & Emery. Katie and Trevor are the proud parents of Judah. Also, you may have noticed Joshua around more often last year. He joined us full time in 2018 and will continue to be part of the campground in the years to come. We are very excited he chose to join us as he has a lot of creative ideas and strong muscles to help implement them. While the kids are all grown and not really kids anymore, they still love the campground. So you may see Katie, Tommy or Micaela around on occasion. Micaela still loves to pinch hit in the office, Tommy can be found helping with Halloween events or escorting on an occasional Friday night and Katie is putting her marketing skills to work helping with facebook and emails. Thank you so much for being a part of our family's memories.
