Info on RV's wanting a tent on their site

We allow for one camping unit/site. If you need to put a tent on a site with an RV, it must be pre-approved as certain sites are not allowed to have a tent on them. Cabins are not allowed to have tents on their site. There is a $20/night fee to put a tent on a site with an RV. The site still cannot exceed 6 total people and no more than 4 adults, and is still limited to one family.

All fires must be contained in fire rings and attended. Do not move fire rings. Do NOT bring in firewood due to Emerald Ashborer disease and Hemlock Woolly Adelgid. Firewood is for sale at the campground.

Blueberry Season: The season typically starts around July 4th through Labor Day. We are the only KOA that has an active farm within the confines of the campground. We produce 2 varieties of berries: Blue Crop & Elliot. We offer U-pick to campers as well as to the public. Pricing is dependent on the market. If you would like to pick please ask at the front desk for current pricing information and an approved picking container. We also take blueberry orders at check in or anytime during your stay if you want us to do the work. If you would like to schedule your stay around blueberry season, feel free to give us a call.

While a guest at the campground, you may appear in pictures or film that may be used in advertising, news reporting, public relations or other activities regarding the campground. Reservations at the campground or a visitor's day use pass constitute your consent for Covert/South Haven KOA to use any pictures or films it deems appropriate without payment, inspection or review.

Big Rig Friendly

Meet Your Hosts

Tom, Libby & Joshua DeRosa

We want our campers to enjoy a stress free, family fun atmosphere to create those lasting memories.

One of the first things you will notice about the DeRosa family is the value they place on quality family time. When deciding what their next venture in life would be, Tom & Libby DeRosa, along with their triplets, Katie, Tommy and Micaela and their youngest son, Joshua, wanted it to involve the whole family.

"We knew we wanted a family business where everyone, including the kids, could participate and use their God given gifts and talents," said Libby. "KOA was a perfect fit because of our love for camping and the opportunity to spend family time together."

Their philosophy on family is what makes the campground so inviting. "We have always felt that spending time together as a family is important," said Libby. "We want our campers to enjoy a stress free, family fun atmosphere to create those lasting memories."

One activity that families can enjoy on the campground is picking blueberries that are ready to be picked from July to late August. "We have over 4 acres of u-pick blueberries on the campground," said Tom. "The Covert/South Haven area is famous for its blueberries and has come to be known as the Blueberry Capitol."

Before entering the camping industry, Tom was an engineer and Libby was a very busy stay at home mom and physical therapist.

In their spare time, Libby loves to garden, while Tom enjoys hunting. Tom is in the state record book for his 6 point deer that is showcased in the campground lodge, along with his elk and his brother's state record 33 point non-typical deer. As you walk the campground you will see many of Libby's landscaping projects, as she loves flowers.

UPDATE: 14 years have past since we opened the "doors" on the Covert/South Haven KOA and many of you have seen our 4 kids grow up right before your eyes. Well, we can tell you it has been a busy last couple of years. All 4 children were married between Aug. 2015 and June 2016. It might be a Guinness record for most sibling weddings in a 10 month period of time.  In 2018, we welcomed our first two grandchildren, Brynn Elizabeth and Judah Robinson!!  In 2019, we welcomed Emery Ann, and in 2020 we added 4 more.  We have affectionately name them the 2020 crew.  Jesse Benjamin, Weston J, Walker Benaiah and Gaetano Peter IV (Baby Tommy).  Tommy & Seralyn are the proud parents of Brynn, Emery, and Tommy. Katie and Trevor are the proud parents of Judah and Jesse.   Josh & Melissa welcomed their first,  Weston and Micaela and Dan are first time parents to Walker.  While the kids are all grown and not really kids anymore, they still love the campground.  Josh has returned to help manage the park and has been with us for 3 years now.  Katie, Tommy and Micaela are around on occasion and usually have the grandkids in tow. Thank you so much for being a part of our family's memories, and we hope you enjoy these updates.
