As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, Coshocton City Main St. comes alive with the sounds of summer. This year, the annual Our Town Coshocton Summer Concert Series promises to be a highlight of the season, offering a vibrant lineup of performances that are free and open to the public.
The Coshocton County Court Square provides the perfect setting for an evening of music, with plenty of space for families to spread out blankets, set up lawn chairs, and enjoy picnics while listening to live performances. Food trucks and local restaurants will be on-site offering a variety of refreshments, from gourmet snacks to ice-cold beverages. Each October, Wooly Pig Farm Brewery in Fresno, Ohio, hosts a lively Oktoberfest celebration that brings Bavarian traditions to the heart of Appalachia. Spanning the first two weekends of the month, the festival is a tribute to the harvest season, featuring authentic German cuisine, traditional music, and, of course, their signature Festbier.
The festivities kick off with the ceremonial tapping of the Festbier from a traditional wooden keg, marking the official start of the celebration. Guests are encouraged to don their finest Trachten—lederhosen and dirndls—to fully immerse themselves in the experience. The brewery grounds come alive with activities such as keg tossing competitions, opportunities to craft and wear Lebkuchen (gingerbread) necklaces, and photo sessions with Trachten-themed boards, providing fun for all ages.
