KOA at the Waterloo Lost Island Park is an exceptional experience. The deluxe cabins provide a relaxing and comfortable stay for families with children. Our visit was wonderful. The cabin was clean and provided us with everything needed. The fire pit, playground and walking trails added to our enjoyment. The kids even fished at the lake. Thank you for the memories we made.

The lake was not the best for swimming especially with small children due to the algae, and the swim to island was so overgrown with weeds that it was not usable.

The 4 person cabin was nice. I would have packed differently had I known. The website says it has a “partial kitchen”, it should just say it has a microwave and mini fridge, no kitchen sink, no dishes. The website says “all the comforts of home” but a fitted sheet and one blanket are provided for the bunk beds. The towels are as thin as paper towels and don’t dry a body, $25 to get a sec

We had an issue in the cabin when we first arrived but the manager was very prompt and sweet. She cleaned up the mess and had no issue at all. The staff was sweet and the cabin was very nice.

Stayed in a cabin with my grandson. He got to kayak and we spent a day at the waterpark. The cabin was clean and comfortable.

We stayed in DK 14. We had no hot water pressure in the shower (the bathroom sink and kitchen sink had hot water pressure). We reserved another Kabin but were told it was out of service due to a bad floor right when you walk in the door. I had to ask for my $20 back since "choosing a Kabin" wasn't really a choice, as so many of them were closed for maintenance. Big washouts on walking path.

The accommodations themself were amazing, and the check in staff was as well. But our neighbors made our stay unpleasant, we’ve been going to this KOA for years but first time getting a cabin, and it wasn’t the best experience due to other guests and a staff member. Other than that it was a beautiful experience, and we love having our yearly family get togethers there

Our cabin was disgusting. There were dead bugs and huge dust bunnies everywhere. There was a spot where the floor was clearly rotted out under the vinyl. Bring your own paper towels!

4 night stay…rooms are getting worn, beds are uncomfortable, no soap for bathroom sink, towel exchange is $25, no daily services, and lake full of algae. For $250 a night in small town Iowa if you say you are a “hotel” and want to charge hotel prices, visitors expect hotel amenities. If a campground, charge accordingly.

We visited the Waterloo KOA with another family and we each had a cabin. We were appreciative that the staff were able to give us cabins that were right next to each other. It made a HUGE difference in our experience. Thank you for accommodating us! It was a great vacation for all of us!

Goose poop ALL over the beach for the 2 days we were there. Never cleaned up. Mold in the air conditioner units. Beds not made upon arrival. Food over cooked at the gas station/lounge. Sent an email last week with no response. [email protected]

We were there for the 4th of July weekend,we had so much fun, Matt and Aimee and staff did a wonderful job, despite the rain most of the day on the 5th, fireworks works on the 5th @ 10:00 just before 10 the skies cleared up, we had the most spectacular fireworks,thank-you again for the best fireworks see you next year������������

Cabin sites are clean and well presented. Matt and Amy go out of their way to assure each and every guest has an enjoyable experience and stay. The fireworks display over the lake is breathtaking. We have been coming for over 10 years and will continue our family tradition here. We look forward to our next stay!

Disappointed in the 8 person cabins as the sleeper in the living room was pretty disgusting. We recommend 8 person cabins are only for 6 people and the 6 person cabin are only for 4 people.

Once again the Lost Island KOA knocked it out of the park. It is a yearly tradition to rent a deluxe cabin when our grandchildren visit. The cabin was perfect for us and had everything we needed for our holiday. Thanks KOA for helping us make lasting memories!

We didn’t have any soap in the dispenser, the TV didn’t work, not even local channels, there was a gas sensor or some type of alarm that kept going off. We unplugged it and called the gas station. They came out and it was fixed, until 5am the next morning when it started going off again. The unplugging worked, but then we are worried about carbon monoxide or gas poisoning. We loved everything

Nice, clean campsite with a lot of fun activities planned. Some hiccups: the tram to Lost Island was not running. The staff didn't seem to know it existed (in general the staff seemed untrained). We saw the tram at the park, parked, it did not run all day. Disappointing since this would have saved us on parking. The boat rentals were not operating, which seemed very strange for a holiday weekend.

I would rate higher stars but we had issues using our baby monitoring systems due to the weak password for the WiFi. Most systems (like baby monitor systems) required a stronger password to prevent hacks. This was mentioned to the check out lady. I hope this can be changed for future visits! Everything else was great!!!

We were there for weekend of September 5&6,we had a great weekend nice cool weekend lots of warm fires, it was a cold weekend,The mixer was so much fun got to taste alot of diffrent things that I propably would'nt buy but I did buy somr of the specialty drinks,its a great way to taste diffrent things,thanks for a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cabin was very comfortable but lacked amenities found in most Deluxe Cabins. I wish we would have been notified that it didn't include dishes so that we could have prepared. We should also have been notified it didn't include a sink in the kitchen area because cups wouldn't even fit under the bathroom sink. Warn the next renters, please.

The upstairs loft was a bit smaller then in the advertised picture on the site. Smaller kids would be OK but a 5.9 adult was a challenge to stay up there. The grounds were clean. The staff was very nice. Shout out to the lady cleaning the cabins. She stopped her duties to chat and was very pleasant. FYI less then 10 minutes away, there is shopping and food available.

The inside of the accessible cabin was great, especially the roll-in shower and the accessible sinks. However, the door threshold was not flush, it was almost 2 inches high. Fortunately we travel with a threshold ramp so my daughter could get her power wheelchair in and out of the cabin. The transition from the road to the ramp leading into the cabin was not smooth either.

Been staying at Waterloo KOA for 7 years and this is the first year I was charged to change out dirty towels for a 4 day stay in an 8 person cabin. We did not have a sheet or blanket for sofa bed, the staff had to physically come out to the cabin to make sure. Staff just were not as accommodating and friendly this year as they have been in the past. Need improvements, going down hill.

Went to the theme park and then stayed the night in a pop-up camper. We had a blast! Very easy to check in, the campground was clean, and there was plenty to do to keep even my toddler occupied. I appreciate the convivence store, it gave me piece of mind knowing there was a place to pick up last minute items.
