See Oregon's impressive sand dunes up close by visiting the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This 31,500-acre recreation area extends from Florence to Coos Bay. You can visit the overlook and day-use area to hike the dunes yourself. If you take the 2-mile Oregon Dunes Loop Trail, you will find a beach where you can spend some time before walking back up the trail. There are also sections of the dunes that are designated for off-highway vehicles (OHVs).
