We've been coming to the Heart Of The Rockies Campground once every year for about five years now and every time that we come we expect things to be more improved when it comes to the bathrooms and showers, they are very nasty and are in need of remodeling, after KOA bought the campground I figured that they would update the bathrooms and showers at least but everything is the same and gets worse.

It is a fairly new KOA so they are still working out the kinks. We were comfortable and the common areas were clean. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Hope to stay again when in the Salida area next year.

The only problem we had was confirmation/communication before we arrived so we had to take a spot and hope it was ours. I could have alleviated the confusion by stopping by earlier though. I'll come by earlier next year before I go to Salida to set up my show.

I stayed in a tent spot for one night. Very nice people, very clean campground with everything you need available.

Was raining when we got there we were on motorcycle and tenting lady offered us to hang out in community room I joked that our little tent would fit in there she said that would be fine stayed high and dry very nice

Nice flat surface for our tent. The paper towel dispenser in the men's bathroom wastes paper. You pull out one paper towel and several come out with it. We came in late and our info and parking pass were in the late check in book with our name in it. We only stayed one night, so we didn't have any contact with employees. We did leave a phone message that we had left and thanked them.

Delightful weekend. Facilities were clean. Pretty view of the mountains and a stream right behind our tent! Denise was a joy at the front desk!

Very poor tent site (T23). Ground was very rocky with no flat sites for a 3-person tent. No shade available Le with an intense sun during day. Restrooms were a loooong way from site. One of the poorest KOA tent sites we have ever stayed at

The view is absolutely beautiful! Only reason I gave 4 stars is that the bathroom is like a 5 minute walk from the tent sites. Doesn't make much sense since the tent campers are the ones who need the bathroom the most. Laundry is convenient, and the library/entertainment room as well. The playground is for bigger kids so if you have a toddler they don't have any safe playground options.

I appreciate the peaceful stay at this exciting, new KOA in the midst of the fabulous mountain beauty. The friendly staff made every effort to provide the best setting for wonderful family memories.

Good service, nice showers, great area for affordable recreation. Could use another restroom for tent campers. Enjoyed the little creek right behind tent site. Would stay again.

Friendly staff. Poor maintenance in restrooms and grounds area. I use KOA frequently and have had only two less than satisfactory stays, this is one. Please update and make this one a top rated KOA. There is plenty of traffic to support improvements to this campground. What a beautiful state to travel through.

I don't want to sound too harsh, it wasn't TERRIBLE, it just wasn't anything special. The tent sites are tiny and it seems like there is no place to park your car if you set up any kind of a site. If you're looking for a place to crash for the night on the way somewhere, it'd be fine - but we were trying to actually spend some time camping. Distance and quantity of bathrooms was pretty bad.

Nice stay, bare bones minimum amenities, tent site did not provide a level area for tent placement. Tables in need of repair / replacement. Bathrooms were clean and showers very nice.

Excellent stop over for us on our trip, we were in a quiet tent site by the creek and as far as possible from the road and rv’s. It was relaxing evening. My only complaint is the bathrooms are the opposite end of the campground from the tent sites.

There were too many rocks in the ground of the tent site to be able to use tent spikes.

It is fine to have laundry and bathrooms in the front of the campground, but to have no toilet facilities in the tent area is not good. During the night to have to walk that far to use the bathroom is the reason for the rating. Other than that the people there are super nice.

Bathrooms were far away from tent sites and. It well maintained. Paperwork provided for late check in appeared to be for a different campground. No place rewards #, incorrect pricing and WiFi name and password for nonexistent network. Location is great - but campground management was below what we expected from KOA.

Location was great, but the mens bathroom needs some TLC or remolding. I was tent camping, good spot, but was awaken by guest at 4am using fowl language and then dogs started barking, had to end my trip early because of this.

I like the authentic setting and secluded tent sites. A microwave in the club house would be a good addition.

Convenient spot, very accessible, decent bathrooms and showers, tent spots a little too secluded in the back near the woods, but good. Overall, good experience.

This was up at the Mt not far from the KOA. The KOA had great sites for RV and tent. The staff was very kind.
