I used this koa to be closer to the local hospital as I had some tests to do and while in area went fishing at a near by lake having electric and water sewer hookups were a plus this time camping. thank you I'd come and stay again. office worker was very friendly and nice

Nice. Sorry, but we needed stronger wi-fi. Only way we could get away was to have Wi-Fi. Also, water pressure was not usable in our RV because the pressure was so low. It was very beautiful. Tight, trying to get our 40 ft RV around the rocks to our space.

The campground was easy to find and the sites were very clean with great hook ups. It’s close to the highway, but I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t hear much road noise. Facilities were a bit dated. And it would sooo much safer to install fire rings vs make-shift rock fire spots. Some folks were having a lot of fun, so it would have been nice to have staff help with quiet hours after 10

Good location, level sites, clean restrooms and showers. The operating hours from 10AM to 4PM on 5 days of the week only are odd for a KOA but they are clearly posted on the KOA website.

Check in was great. Our host and hostess were great! So friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again if passing through the area.

The place is great with nice people who work there. My only comment would be the water pressure on row “I” could be better. The place is always clean and spots are easy to get into.

The employees were very helpful, especially Linda. One of our dogs passed away while we were there, and she was very caring. She even checked on us a couple of times to make sure we were OK.

Used to always stay at the Buena Vista KOA but since they are no longer a KOA, I decided to try Salida/ Poncha Springs KOA. I enjoyed the stay. Large site, easy access in and out. Priced a bit higher than I would prefer, but will definitely be coming back nonetheless.

Arrived after hours, but was able to find my site easily and quickly with the help of my site map conveniently left for me. Office staff went out of there way adjusting my reservation when my plans had to change.

While I know this campground was very run down before it sold and becoming a KOA and they have started making a few repairs, it falls short of typical KOA standards, especially given the nightly price tag. The bathhouse is in disrepair and feels dirty, the internet service is non-existent, the playground for the kids is obsolete, and the water was too low to even shower in our camper.

The park is very nice, quiet and clean. The staff is great, helpful and friendly. Plenty of hiking and walking trails, and they are in and around a nice stream. The WiFi and cell service is practically nonexistent. But for that, I would rate excellent. In fact, after I wrote this paragraph I upgraded my rating.

Very unfriendly staff. We have stayed at KOA for years and this campground is terrible. We will NOT return. We were going to stay for three days but after our interaction with staff , we left and found another campground.

Great location; the views in South Park are truly stunning. Lots of improvement happening at this KOA. Looking really nice. Easy in/out layout. And the staff was great. We already plan to be back in the Fall.

For the price I expected more services. We had to find the garbage bin— most KOA have pickup service. Signage wasn’t up when we arrived- it was up when we left. We had another friend camping with us and they had told them that they got the last spot so they had to have the most expensive site— the campground was only 1/4th full.

Showers were dirty. Mens bathroom needs a makeover. The site was adaquate. Utilities were functional.

Very nice place to stay and serve as home base for the Salida area. Linda and the crew are working very hard to update this park and are very friendly and accommodating. We will be back.

Electric at A-4 was not working; moved to A-2 and no further problems. Nice facility.

Stayed 2 nights and very quiet location even though US50 is right there. Good sites and almost level. Restroom and laundry room were very clean.

We pay for WiFi access in the fee. It was not accessible the entire time by myself and other guests. A credit, rebate or refund should be provided when amenities are built into the rate structure, but not accessible. Water pressure was extremely low. And the showers needed maintenance. The people were pleasant to engage. But they were unable to resolve the WiFi issue the entire time (week).

Where to begin with why this place is the pits. Was never able to get connected to Wifi (the main reason we book a KOA vs USFS or state park). Staff rides around on loud ATVs all day. Two huge trucks brought in some cabins and idled on site for hours (noisy and smelly). The manhole cover was leaking the duration of our stay, feet from our rig. The front desk doesn't seem to know the KOA system.

As far as KOA Camp Grounds go, this one is very austere with limited facilities and is located 5 miles from anywhere. No shade. WIFI is not reliable or available. The bathrooms and showers are excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

We got to the Mt Shavano KOA after a hard day of driving, being buffeted by high wind gusts. It was such a relief to pull in and relax.

Robert and Linda were awesome hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable! Our site was clean and quiet. New off-leash dog park clean and additional areas to walk leashed pets. Bathroom & shower facility were spotless. Beautiful mountain views! We highly recommend!

Only a OK spot for an overnight stop. Like most KOAs, it’s pretty basic and not particularly attractive. Bathrooms and ‘community room’ are pretty outdated and in need of a serious refresh.

This was up at the Mt not far from the KOA. The KOA had great sites for RV and tent. The staff was very kind.
