My stay here was fine overall, the staff was very nice & friendly. The knocks are distance to Salida being about 15-20 minutes away, the spots were kind of tight and staggered on a hillside. There was a fair amount of wind during my stay and the site offered no protection. The bathrooms were clean & well maintained.

We were there during the week so not too many other guests which made it very peaceful. Beautiful country, nice campsite.

We stayed in the campground so that we could visit nearby attractions. The campground is very easy to access and the sites are nice. We enjoyed our stay.

generally nice campground, but the roads in the campground are very narrow. Difficult for longer rigs to navigate, pull in and out of sites. Each site is rimmed by very large rocks and boulders, which can cause damage to tires and body with tail swing. The only sites that can accommodate a 5th wheel longer than 40 ft are in row I. Other than that, the campground is clean, well manicured.

Tim and Jennifer are awesome! They are very considerate hosts, who are always pleasant to deal with. The campground is kept clean and filled with beautiful views. The bathrooms are outdated, but are kept very clean! This is now our favorite KOA. Thank you Tim and Jennifer!

Still new and developing, but the site we had N5 would have been very difficult if not impossible to have pulled out of if the two site just in front of us were occupied. Our unit is a 31 ft. 5th wheel, our overall length is 41 feet. With teh trees and boulders it would be very chalenging to get out. Other than that, the new KOA looks like it's going to be a winner for outdoor activities.

Gastvrij, vriendelijk en Behulpzaam, Dorp Salida is leuk om te bezoeken, zeker na de tips die ik kreeg. Campground is erg schoon goede en zeer nette sanitaire voorzieningen. Mooie tussen stop in de Rockys, aanrader!

Great location and the plumbing and electrical seem to be fairly new and updated. The bathrooms are in good condition, but they sit at one end of the campground ( which happens to be a long way from my space ). The problem was that they had barely plowed any snow off. We had a terrible time just getting up the hill to the office and an even harder time getting to our spot.

We were happy to find a place open during the winter months to camp! Mt. Shavano KOA has great views, was super clean and had nice heated bathrooms. There's some great trail heads close by and it's a short drive to downtown Salida.

Although we only stayed one night and didn't have an opportunity to use their facilities, Jennifer at the front desk was very, very helpful, and that was very much appreciated. We also got a stunning moonrise and sunset - at the same time! I can't promise you'll get that. �

We could not get our coach leveled. Not sure if it was the I-5 spot or the coach. They have recently added decorative rocks to separate the parking spots. They look pretty but make turning in and getting out of the parking spots much harder for larger coaches. I could not safely and easily turn left of the spot because of the rock divider. Not good. Dry conditions made for a very dusty park.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Our site was a clean, level gravel site. It did appear that the RV sites are in the process of being refreshed. The sites that are done look very nice. The WiFi was spotty but usable most of the time.

I enjoyed my 10 nights at this beautifully park. Jennifer, the office mgr., was the most friendly, professional, and helpful person that I met in the Salida area. She not only was very flexible and accommodating with my reservations, but she gave me some tips on places to go and see in the area. I will always be returning to the Salida/Mt Shavano KOA as long as Jennifer is there!

Big thing is there is NO water pressure there…mens restrooms were not clean. We had a space we could back out of but for a longer rig pulling through if the park is full would be difficult…the divider rocks between spaces are out too far to allow proper turning especially with the slope at the park. Slabs are nice but tables need repainted The Staff was nice and the spots are flat.

Staff was exceptionally helpful! Bathrooms were clean and well lit. View was terrific. We’re backpackers aged into camp trailer so don’t look for entertainment or fancy buildings - and this KOA like so many others suited us just fine! Thanks.

This was up at the Mt not far from the KOA. The KOA had great sites for RV and tent. The staff was very kind.
