There are little bits of trash all over the tent sites plus old tent stakes you need to watch for before driving into the site. The bathroom house is old and dated, and way too small. The water in the showers fluctuates terribly making a shower difficult, way too hot then freezing cold.

While in a beautiful setting, the KOA has a run down look and feel. Wifi did not work and could not be used. Kabin door was warped and barely locked with great effort. Screen door on Kabin was in disrepair, let bugs in and dragged on porch. Restrooms were old and left something to be desired. Cannot recommend it and will not be staying there again.

This is the perfect place for a visit to Salida. I have stayed here many times over the years and am always happy.

Amazing little cabins, great staff! We will always use KOA from now on. Way better, cheaper, and less fussy than an air b n b. This was our first time and we will be KOA campers from here on out!

I wished to have an area with trees since it was so windy. My tent had a hard time not blowing around. I wish you can get wifi at the tent site. I did enjoy the room next to bathrooms.

Had problem with 30amp but was resolved by koa people,They need to inform 50amp rigs that old 30amp can only power one AC and not your microwave at same time! BEAUTIFUL location including nightly bear foray at dumpsters@

The only negative was the low water pressure. Other than that, it’s a great KOA.

We had a great stay. Special shoutout to Gino, who delivered 4 bundles of firewood by wheelbarrow!! (We were on motorcycles) as well as Marti, she was great. The only other thing is, whoever owns this KOA needs to #1 get Gino a golf cart or utv instead of a wheelbarrow and most importantly GET BEAR CANS for your campground. This helps campers/employees and PROTECTS the bears.

We love Salida and staying at the KOA. It is clean a friendly. We fill our RV tank so we can bypass the low water pressure issues at the campground. It works well for us.

Entrance has pot holes. Sites definately need resurface and leveling. Water pressure is gravity fed. People at the office very friendly. This park needs improvements. If koa inspected this park they would or i would remove it from the listing until improvements are made.

All the white gravel made it very hot. The fences have many broken rails. The bathroom structure seems to be crumbling, need to replacer. Appreciate the hot water. There was a broken handle on a toilet. All in all the place looks like it is deserted. Need green grass and trees.

Stayed in deluxe cabin. Had everything you could need. Only 2 issues no ice available at store. And laundry area had dead bugs everywhere. Butter cabin was great

Ok place to stay, it’s a bit dated and could use a refresh on the facilities. Water pressure and Wi-Fi definitely need some work. Staff/host were very friendly and helpful.

Staff was very helpful. They moved me to a larger site when I arrived so wouldn’t have to unhook my tow vehicle, which I did not want to do staying one night. Very helpful and accommodating!

We really enjoyed camping by the water, but two things were not good: One - there was some sort of camp manager - a guy - who was patrolling and approached us threateningly sayingt our driving on site "too fast" - I agree, I wasn't 5 mph, but probably no more than 10. He told us "if we did this again he would have to..." 2. please sweep community room . The front desk woman was great!

The bathrooms weren’t very clean and ran out of toilet paper in the morning. The WiFi isn’t great. The site itself is beautiful and staff was friendly at check in.

Marti and Geno (maintenance guy) were so nice and helpful. Camp was quiet even being July 4th weekend. We will stay again when we’re back this way.

Although a good place for an overnight, decent pull throughs, needed facilities and beautiful scenery, the facilities could be cleaner due to dust everywhere, probably not an issue if there was more rain recently. There was very little for children to do. We learned that a Journey is more of a stop off than an extended stay with children.

Perhaps the best KOA we've visited in CO. Judy, Gino, and Marti(?) provided excellent service and advice on the site and local info. Just far enough away from Poncha Springs and Salida to be perfectly serene but close enough to enjoy all assets, like Lake Frantz. Terrific KOA!

This was just a quick overnight stop. Our late arrival paperwork was easy to find and the caretaker/host was also walking the grounds and helped guide us to our spot. Showers/restrooms were nice and clean. Pretty location with a creek and wild flowers. This campground is in a nice location with lots of activities nearby including river rafting and tubing, shopping and dining.

The facility is great but the staff has changed drastically. We have stayed here several times over the past 15 years and always felt welcome. We felt like an inconvenience this time and the individual working on the landscaping became belligerent and told us he was glad we don’t plan on coming back. We won’t be back.

Staff was very accommodating on putting me in a site that fit my, 43’ motor home, however the site was very tight and difficult when departing.

There is only one bathroom block at the entrance to the campground, and it is very dark, dated and has much mouse sign. The wreak side tent sites were quite lovely, but ours did not have an adequate level space for our tents And we ended up sleeping on a slope, Which was not very comfortable. But the creek was lovely and we had some shade. Not our favorite campground.

Great campground in a great location. Stayed here multiple times. Only room for improvement is bathroom cleanliness and enforcement of unleashed dogs.

The personnel were outstanding as always: very helpful and cordial. I believe the basic cabins need to be upgraded due to their age - upon heavy rain K3 cabin had a leak, the lighting is poor, & there was no air conditioning, no fan and the windows were difficult to open. Because the management was very pleasant and accommodating, I overlooked the deficiencies of the aging basic cabins.

We stayed in the area for six days and enjoyed a long relaxing stay at this KOA. Bathrooms were clean. Manager/host was friendly and helpful.

Our primitive camping spot was really nice and near a creek. However, it was a loooooooooong way from the bathroom, which was very inconvenient. I wish there had a been a toilet near us. Shower were hot and had great water pressure.

The camp host was very helpful and our cabin was nice and clean and what we expected. The bathrooms were terrible. There was so much mouse droppings it was hard to walk around without stepping on some, and there were even some in the sink, making it feel like it wasn't clean at all.

Friendly staff, easy check-in. But bathrooms and rec room had a LOT of mouse droppings on the floors. Some droppings can be expected but this was extensive. Not what I expect generally from KOA.

We stayed overnight in our trunk camper. The spots were nice with plenty of room. The veiw was beautiful and there were so many hummingbirds flying around. Bathrooms were clean but could use an upgrade. Everyone was very helpful and friendly

The water situation. Had only a trickle and could not shower. They also knew road ahead in Gunnison was closed and should have been informed when we made reservation. Had to go all out of our way. Plus charge of $60. Did not appreciate it. Had to go 5 hours out of our way.

Check in was flawless, campsite was clean, restrooms were cleaned but was out of hand soap. The unpleasant piece to my stay was the “ camp host. Before I got out of my car he was reciting rules to me like some sort of Gustapo agent. He did this both evenings as I arrived. It was just me and my dog, we were tent camping and kept to ourselves, yet I felt like I was being hounded and watched.

Very nice campground with astounding, friendly staff. I have been on site for 6 months. I had to laugh at reading some of the reviews. There are campground rules to follow and to many people come in the park thinking these rules don't apply to them. Such as taking items from other sites that aren't occupied at the moment, speeding, chopping down the campground trees because they don't want to buy wood, starting huge bonfires that aren't safe for anyone around. So yes, if you come in the park thinking the rules don't apply to you, you will most likely get a talking to and deservedly so. The rules are here to keep everyone safe and to keep the grounds nice.
