This was a nice campground. Clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay. The one thing I didn't like was that our spot was very muddy. It could definitely use some gravel.

The whole park could use some gravel to help oth the mud. Bathrooms were very old. Nothing great about it.

I would not recommend staying here. Grounds were nice and had full h/u's. As soon as we walked in the door only 7 minutes early to check-in we were greeted by a woman who immediately got snippy and said "you have 7 minutes until you can check-in". No hi, hello or welcome to Rapid City KOA. She was immediately aggressive and made us wait in the small store. Staff around the park were also rude

All went well we even had a spot with shade only thing was access to dump station isn’t easy and must exit through a do not enter sigh workers and all campers were very nice

Was first put in a location next to the construction. After walking around and seeing how pretty other areas of the park were, I went back and asked to be moved and the staff did so with no issue. Stay was great. Thanks

I was a walk in and they had a site available for 2 nights, unfortunately, if you get there early, they charge $15's to get a site before 1pm. I've been to a lot of KOA's early without this extra fee. Sites are tight, I had to back out to leave so I wouldn't scrape the side of my unit with a tree. You are required to go drive through construction to get to your unit, only 1 way in.

Sites are spacious, well laid-out, and amenities nice. On the downside, when it rained, many of the access roads were very messy, perhaps add more gravel.

Lots of campgrounds in the Black Hills area. More than one KOA. This is the one in the “big” city, near the freeway. It’s a nice campground. The campground is spacious. Sites are nice. There is good size pool, a nice playground. Location gives you easy access up the road to Mount Rushmore and beyond. There are tours available to visit many sites in the area. Stayed four days, close to custer state park, mt Rushmore, Sturgis and deadwood. Only negative comment: they could use a change machine in the laundry by the pool.

Where the grass has warn away the spot could use same more stones so it would not be so muddy when it rains. Everything else was nice.

Beautiful KOA campground. Construction of the new main building makes the check in process a bit congested. But it is a very nice, clean KOA. Will definitely be back.

We chose to stay at this campground because of the hot tub. When we arrived we were told the hours and then discovered the hot tub was empty and clearly closed. I think with allll The email correspondence leading up to the stay it would have been relevant to mention this.

Great folks and a great site. We had a great vacation and stay. I have to say, i can't wait to see how much better it will be after the construction. It was kind of a pain with traffic and grid lock getting into the campground.

The checking staff was not very friendly. I do understand when there's rain there is some water issues but our site had mud and 1" /2" of standing water. Please relandscap!!

We understood the rule about checking in at 1 PM. We timed our arrival so that we would get there at exactly 12:55 PM. I walked inside. One of your staff came bolting around the counter and said are you here to check in? I said yes, she said you can pay $15 if you wanna come in early in not, wait out in your RV for five minutes. We found the staff RUDe and it’ll be on my YouTube channel!

1 night google mapped in the back entrance . We will be back. Have 2 nights reserved for our return trip so we have a day to take our granddaughter to Bear Country

This is an awesome KOA you can ask for anything better. The cleanliness, the staff, the laundry, the pool all was great. When we got there we asked to change sites. The lady at the front worked diligently to find us a spot because we were there for eight nights. She was able to pull it off at made our stayed much more comfortable, great place and highly recommend.

Unfortunately it rained sometime during each day/night leaving puddles. Had to navigate walking to the bathrooms. Otherwise it was nice. Would suggest filling in puddles with gravel after a rain. New office building looks to be impressive. Centrally located to many of the parks.

We roof top tent camped. Nice large site to share. Clean restrooms and showers. Office staff was friendly and helpful. Clean working laundry. Note: NWE office, shop, and shower ect being built!!

We have stayed here a few times and always have had a good experience. The young lady that checked us in was very welcoming and polite. The pool area and bathrooms were always clean. The only thing we were bummed about was the hot tub was not working as they were waiting on a new pump but that can’t be helped.

Checking in the ladies in the office where not that friendly. We did not want to go back in the office for anything. The place they put us in was terrible right next’s to the construction zone looking at a big dumpster and a lot of dust. �

It was fine, but difficult to pull out without coming into contact with an adjacent tree, perhaps a 32 ft 5th wheel should not be assigned to 224.

We arrived at 12:30 and was told check in was at 1:00 and if I wanted to paid $15.00 extra I could check in or wait till 1:00. We have only arrived early to two other KOA campgrounds and they all accommodate me without paying extra. The black hills KOA was more worried about there rules than appreciating their guests. I won’t be back to that campground.

The campground was ok. Bathrooms weren’t super clean, but usable. One of the check in ladies was not at all friendly. The other was ok. Not the usual welcome you get from a KOA. Hot tub wasn’t operational. Sites were fairly small. The location is convenient and the maintenance people were friendly. I would probably not stay here again with all the other options in the area.

We stayed 4 days and 3 nights. Really enjoyed the property, even though they were doing upgrades; hopefully we'll see in the future. It was close too, an hour to places we wanted to go. And lots of restaurants in the area. The K9 zone was very good!

Good city campground. Great service and I thought we had a great view of Rapid City. The pancakes are great and the rest rooms were excellent.

Incredible staff. The only negative reviews I've read about this place, say the staff can be unkind, unfriendly, or unwelcoming, and that's absolutely nonsense. We stayed this weekend, July 10-12, and Carla was the first to welcome us, and she couldn't have been any sweeter. We've shared pictures of family members & kids , swapped stories , laughed & been pleased with every staff member we've engaged with. We live just in Hot Springs, and have literally said multiple times we'll be back for sure , just because of their hospitality. Legitimately awesome crew.
