People that run koa in Montgomery are awesome people. Stayed almost 2 years never had any problems.

They tell you to get off at exit 11 but not what to do after that. Site was small and poorly angled. Lots of dog poop around. Buildings in poor repair. Piles of debris in the field. It just wasn’t what we usually expect at a KOA.

This KOA was easy to reach and close to the highway. The sites were easy to drive into, the washrooms were clean and the park looked like it is well maintained. We were made to feel welcome there and the camp owner was very good about explaining road directions to us.

Nice, quiet park. Roomy spot. The only scary thing was seeing that steep driveway at night that would possibly hang up our long coach. We raised the airbags and came in and out okay.

The entry to the park is very steep, my tow dolly bottomed out going in and out of park. There was only one shower available to use for the entire park. Aside from that there was nothing that would make me want to stay there again.

Cute campground in a great location, but Gary was even more wonderful. When I told him our 5th wheel jack leg was broken and we needed a level site, he told us to find the one that would work for us, since we didn't want to unhook from our truck. He gave us a few options and we were able to find the perfect site for the night. Thanks, Gary, for making our life easy for the night.

We only stayed one night while passing through, the staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. The campground was clean, the kids playground is a bit small but very much appreciated, wide- graveled pull through sites, other campers were friendly, THANKS for having us!

Have stayed here several times in the last 3 yrs. Seems to have improved much over that time. The park still needs more tidying up. The entrance has been widened but IMO still needs to be wider and less steep. Water hook-ups are only inches from the ground and very inconvenient.

We arrived with no reservation and we were accommodated with no issues. We were placed in a pull through space long enough to fit our Class C Motorhome with towed vehicle. The washrooms/showers and laundry facilities were very clean. The grounds were also very well kept. We would definitely return in in the area again

Sites are clean and staff friendly. All pull-thru sites a plus! Also pet friendly. Only negative is that Camp “store” has limited food selection.

Staff is very nice. The campground was old. It could have been really nice but old campers and piles of rubbish detracted from the open spaces. They are working on putting new bathhouses in. Not really any amenities except a playground for kids. It is easy on easy off the interstate.

It was perfect for an overnight stay. Easy in/out of site. Sites were spacious. Nice walking trail. Dogs enjoyed the dog park. It was quiet. Easy access to I-85. The owner was incredibly helpful, above and beyond, to assist with a towed vehicle issue.

Great stay at Montgomery KOA!! We were on a journey from Florida to the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque New Mexico.

We were very pleased with the layout of the campground and very satisfied with our lot assignment. We must also tell you how we enjoyed the hospitality, the friendliness, and the genuine caring of the office staff of its campers. Our stay was just an overnight but we were impressed. There was an issue with a person that was coming and going in the campgrounds and management took care of it promptly. It was a pleasant overnight.

We had a reservation, but the new camper we have has a VERY low rear end and the entrance was questionable and I couldn't risk it. The manager was very understanding and issued a full refund. Proof there are still slot of good people still.

While traveling from CO to FL, I stopped at the KOA Journey in Montgomery AL. It was an after hours check‐in, the camp manger Gary was very pleasant and super helpful with the check in process. He quickly showed to my campsite for the night and answered all of my questions. The KOA Journey has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and more importantly the restrooms are clean and the showers are hot.
