The grounds were well maintained and site locations had very level parking for RV with slide outs. The location is easy to reach. We arrived late but instructions to locate our site was easily accessible with easy to follow instructions. We look forward to a return visit for one or more nights in the future.

Very unkept grass a foot tall there was a guy mowing but just open areas, lots of rvs that looked dilapidated ! a building that looked like it might be bathrooms was torn up inside ? wanted to talk to someone but couldn’t find anyone as office or store was locked up!!!

Thank you for your comments. Although our new bathhouse is under construction we do still work on it daily. Grass grows quickly in the south, especially Bahia grass. Our office is open from 9 to 6 daily and 10 to 5 on sat and sun. We were likely out on the property with a sign on door to call.

Nice campground , entrance is a little steep,you just have to go slow,

Thank you for the positive feedback. We do love our KOA and we try to make it special for everyone. We have had comments in the past about our unique entrance but we look at it like this: Every guest has gotten in and out again. It seems steeper from a big class A windshield than it actually is.

Meh.... Campground is in a open field. Allot of long terms rentals. Recommend separating long terms from those passing thru & short term. No amenties to speak of...Nothing clearly marked, new houses under construction however looks like project was stopped. Not clear if cable was provided or not & if it was our cable was torn at pedistal. Grass needed to be mowed. Needs attention.

Quaint and quiet campground. If you have a large trailer, the dip from the road into the site may be problematic. Tent sites were fine.

The young lady that checked us in was friendly and professional. This KOA is an improved field with rv sites. There is a bath house that’s being worked on but the layer of dust on everything says worked stopped awhile ago. The two toilets/showers that are available are getting long in the tooth (wore out). I guess it’s good for a night’s stop we unfortunately stayed 4.

Thank you for the review. As we are a young KOA we are always improving our amenities. The bath house is under construction and the dust you saw was only drywall sanding dust. This property with many buildings and cabins was at one time a popular B&B with a live stage we are refurbishing.

if the campground is being built you should say so in large print so people can decide if they want to go there. I would have gone somewhere else if I knew there was nothing but a gravel pad and they didn't even cut the grass.

Our lawn service has been swamped so we are supplementing it with our own small crew. Bahia grass grows rapidly and we have always had gravel pads, long before we were a KOA. However we do have several cement pads but they are back ins and folks generally want pull throughs. We continue to improve.

Friendly staff, and convenient for an overnight stay. The biggest problem is with the utility connections - they are right on the inside corner where you turn into the campsite. Vulnerable to impact with a turning RV, and in my case the power cord was not long enough to reach. This campground has tons of potential, just need to keep working on the details. Sites need about 5 more ft of length

Thank you for your honest assessment of our sites. As RV's grow, especially the bigger and more powerful Class 'A's tow vehicles become larger as well. Our newest sites accommodate 75 ft as of now and our future sites will be even longer.

This really can’t be a KOA…? This place had nothing. We stayed 4 nights and the grass was never cut. I know it’s the south (we are from Mississippi), and grass grows extremely fast, but this was not the case. It is no fun at all hooking and unhooking sewer/water in knee high grass with grass seeds getting everywhere and back in your RV. They also did not give me the correct points… 250 for

We apologize for the inconveniences. Our lawn service runs every 7 days but we are currently in the process of getting that changed because the grass is growing faster than anticipated. KOA Journeys usually do not have many amenities because they're for short term stays. Thanks for your feedback!

Average no frills KOA Journey. Setback from the highway was far enough that road noise was not an issue. Fine for a few days to explore Montgomery.

Absolutely great. The young lady in the office was very nice and helpful. Gary was extremely helpful to get me set up. KOA was easy to find and was very quiet.

Campsite grass was knee high.

We stop here for overnight stays in a motorhome towing. We had plenty of room on our site to park without unhooking. They are building a new bathhouse in the middle of the campground that will enhance the camping.

Terribly disappointed that this KOA did not have a pool. Also needed a Spectrum box to get cable. I was pleased with the internet

Many KOA Journeys do not have pools but one is in the works. Check back and see us soon. The cable issue is one of digital domain. No cable company for the past decade or more offers cable without some sort of DTA or convertor device especially in a multi site community like ours, but we are on it.

Entrance is too steep. Camping area is a field with hookups; not appealing at all.

Our entrance is not as steep as it may seem once you pull into it. Being in a high Class A rig can make it appear even larger. We can assure you that hundreds of guests travel in and out easily every week without incident. However we do appreciate the review.

Wish there was more shade. Washroom and laundry were under construction but didn’t know that ahead of time. Was good for just a one night stay. Staff were friendly.

More shade is a double edged sword. Trees can mean damage to RVs especially during hurricane season. We do in fact have a full set of washrooms and laundry facility on premises. You may be referring to the new additional 6 shower facility in the final stages of construction centered on the grounds.

RV "lots" or Spaces we not clearly defined. It looked like they shipped in loads of gravel and spread it out in an old pasture. Water access was a tube sticking out of the ground with a spigot attached, very flimsy. Needs a pool.

A luxury amenity like a pool is always in the works. All water issues are dealt with as they arise as is site management. Our 67 acres was once a rural bed and breakfast before we took over and are rebranding it into a great KOA. We were recently awarded "Most improved KOA in the nation, 1st place.

Great place to stop while traveling, this campground is under renovation and will be a great KOA when finished. Spoke with one of the workers, maybe the owner when we checked out, pleasant and helpful...I wish them a speedy upgrade and renovation. We will stop in again when traveling.

Looks like it is just starting out, no showers, pool, concrete pads etc. It has great potential.

Although pools are generally not found in all Journeys it is a luxury amenity that we are working on. We have showers and they are listed on our map, it is near our laundry room at the stagehouse. When you return you will also be able to enjoy our new 6 shower bath house nearing end construction.

Office staff very helpful and efficient at setting up my overnight stay on short notice. All worked very well. I appreciate the family restroom's large size. Some updating needed, and why temperature set so low in that space is unclear. But it all worked and friendly people.

Our site was a little soggy due to recent thunderstorms. Other than that a great place to stay when you are on the road. Very friendly staff and great dog park.

Narrow parking site made up of rocks. Step off rocks into tall unmowed grass and weeds.and shoes are all wet. Water connection is just a flexible pipe out of ground. Connect my hose and parks waterpipe bends over to touch the ground. Extremely overpriced for the poor site and poorly maintained grounds.

Thank you for the review. Although we cannot control the rain or the speed in which the grass grows we do have a lawn service that attacks it weekly. All water spigot issues are dealt with as soon as they arise. Maintaining our grounds is an ongoing project that we never let up on. Thank you!

Gravel with small patches of grass. Or a single tree on site. I was placed close To the septic and smelled it all night. Buildings were new but work shed right in the middle. New picnic tables but didn’t sand the screw holes so splinters were everywhere.

Thank you for your review. We're 67 acres surrounded by trees. Many guests prefer not to be under trees as the Alabama weather can cause enough damage without limbs falling. That work shed is actually our new 6 room bath house near the end of construction. All sewer issues are dealt with promptly.

It was just an overnight stay and it was very convenient to get too. Nice level and long site didn’t need to unhook the truck and trailer. Safe and quiet when I was there. Would recommend it.

Loved the cookout on our arrival day, 7 am mowing on Saturday was a surprise. Great stopover on passing through, not a destination. Still under construction.

Thank you for enjoying a meal on us. Yes our mowers can be a little enthusiastic but our grass grows so fast here in Alabama that they stay extremely busy and have to fit us in whenever possible, and beat the rains.

This is my 2nd time overnighting at this KOA. Very reasonably priced, easy to get to, check in and park. Many improvements since last year when new owners started. No pool. Again perfect for an overnight.
