The tent sites were well maintained, level, and nicely equipped with mulch, water access, and a prep station with table and chairs.

Arrived after hours but finding our site was easy. We thought the free kayak and paddle board rentals were great, and we used them extensively. The game deck was also a good time. Overall a great place, looking forward to coming back.

We had such a great time! The customer service was excellent and they were so accommodating and friendly. Our 2 year old didn't want to leave. It's also in a great location for hiking the state parks and national forest. Overall 10 out of 10 :)

Loved the resort area by the lake with the two bars, game area and store. The cabins look neat. The band was awesome! Hated the mulch pads for tents. Made me feel like I was sleeping in the parking lot. I feel like there is too much gravel. Would prefer more grass.

The people here are amazing! We are beyond thankful for the owners help getting our car unstuck and appreciate their positive attitudes through the crazy experience. The location is so cool too, a restaurant and bar on the water!

Had my first solo camping trip at Marion/Shawnee KOA and it was wonderful. Micah went above and beyond when I ran out of gas—kind, helpful, and never made me feel silly. Kids loved the water park, though the lifeguard could’ve been more attentive. Loved our tent site but wish there was more shade and better airflow in the fire pit. We’ll be back in the fall!

Enjoyed the staff and the environment and the amenities the only thing that would have been nice is if the tent sites had the canopies that the rv sites had the tent sites have zero shade.

I had a tent site. I think there was a bit of mold in the pad but I can't be sure..I'm not an expert but it looked like a fungus. I think next time I would get a cabin since the views were better and they were farther into the park. I think the tent sites were a bit too isolated but I did like the little cooking station and firepit.

friendly, helpful, engaging staff tent pads very comfortable w/ nice tables, electricity, shelf for cooking, firepit, one side of the the wall higher than the rest provided some shade at the table didn't use any of the facilities, but certainly lots there: store, burger bar, ice cream, sandwiches, a huge water slide/fortress (seriously, the think would not fit in our front/backyards combined)

We stayed overnight at the KOA while we were on a road trip. The KOA is in a beautiful setting and the tent sites are very nice. We appreciated the cooking station the site had and the tent pad as well. The bathrooms were clean and nice. It was a great experience.

The staff here were awesome! Very friendly and super helpful. Site was clean, I just wish it felt more like camping in the woods, and less like camping in a parking lot. It would have been nice for the gravel to be a little smaller, I noticed it started to bother my dog's paws very quickly. It was awesome to have electric and water on site, and the little divider/shelving was helpful as well.

We really had a great time. Nice campground and staff. Wasn't sure about a gravel campsite, but ended up loving it. Only think I would recommend is more frequent housekeeping on the bathhouse. And some actual shower mats and not welcome mats. Really triggered my ick factor. Oh and bring a canopy, shade is hard to come by in site. They playground is awesome and Micah even reopened the bounce toy

Kecia was fantastic. She was tentative to our needs and knowledgeable for great hiking trails in the area. We’ve stayed at other KOA sites before and this one is very updated with amenities. Very clean campground.

Our stay was amazing. The campground is clean and gorgeous. Wish there was more shade over the tent sites. But over all, everything was amazing.

Overall I was pleased with our stay. The biggest complaint I have is the price of daily boat slip rental. $50 per day is beyond stupid! Also, the ticketing system for the water park is horrible. During the two days we utilized the park that was the complaint I heard from everyone else there. Buying tickets online is ok but there is no reason tickets can't be purchased at the office.

We stayed at a tent site for the weekend. The tent site is very clean. The kitchen area is extremely convenient. Just be sure to know the size of your tent! The mulched area is 14 feet wide. The lake area is a lot fun for the kiddos and the price is great if you are staying at the campground. The lake area is beautiful and the Burger Bar is delicious!

This site was our most difficult. There are zero protections from the sun here. Not only that, but all the rock reflects the sun. You're blinded while you're baking. Until they fix this, which seems against their model, it will be miserable if you're not in an RV. We camped in a tent and it was the worst. Also, the bathroom floor was flooded with water and the shower didn't drain.

Our family spend one night at the Marion/Shawnee National Forest KOA on our way from Florida to Iowa. We had reserved a tent site and arrived at dusk. We were very impressed with the tent site - there was an area for the tent that had wood chips which was a nice surface and had good drainage. The tent sites were private because of privacy fences between them and each site had a light and outlet
