This was by far and away the best stay we have ever had at a KOA and we have used a fairly large number throughout the family. The owner, Micah Merrill is committed to making the stay enjoyable. Every member of the staff we dealt with was polite and could not have been more helpful. Stay at this KOA. You will not be sorry!!

We requested to speak to the site manager several times and he has yet to get back to us. It’s disappointing that the person managing the property doesn’t connect within an appropriate timeframe or at all. This is what impacted our impression.

Great gem we stumbled upon. Best koa we have stayed at they are added amazing things for all. They do need to work on the the gravel parking and I’m sure they are going to brand knew to koa as of April. Met the owners great people. They have a kitchen and small service bar. Wonderful country store and we even rented a boat for a couple hours from big worms rides right at the resort. 5 stars �

This KOA was excellent! I would highly recommend this place to anyone with kids! We brought out 14 and 10 year old kids and they played nonstop. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We rented a pontoon and wave runners from Big Worm. He made the rental process easy and quick! Would definitely recommend 100 % ���

The place was immaculate! The scenery was fantastic! The owner was down to earth and super friendly and helpful. Our only regret was that we were only able to stay one night! Great place!!

Staff was very friendly, everything was very clean, and plenty of entertainment for the kids. Our only complaint was no shade at the campsites. Heat index was over 100 all 4 days we were there. We were miserable and our air wouldn't keep up. Other than that I would give 5 stars!

No free place to swim the swim beach that you have to pay to get into is gross. Also swim time is limited and the facilities smell awful.

So much fun! Clean and well maintained. Live music. Great store with amazing ice cream and pizza. Walk to boat rentals. Close to various beautiful hikes. A must stop campground if you are in Illinois.

Campsites are large concrete pads very nicely done. The camp store with the restaurant, the best ice cream I’ve ever had and the full espresso bar was the best KOA store I’ve ever been in. And all the staff the most welcoming & nicest hosts. Great location on Lake of Egypt.

Really nice area and very friendly staff. Lot's of fun activities for the kids and they have created a nice vibe up by the general store, the restaurant and the cabins. My only complaint is the distance from the camper parking to the store and water front and the lack of trees for shade. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would stay again.

Very nice stay. Great hosts and owners greeted us and gave us the background on the park. Enjoyed a day on Lake Egypt in a pontoon boat. Highly recommend!

The grounds were beautiful. The outdoor waterpark was awesome as was the restaurant. Our cabin #5 however was disgusting. It was infested with ants. Bathrooms, bedrooms, loft, kitchen, living room. Everywhere. It was also just filthy & needs to be repaired. Flooring broken & can trip over. Walls were gross and it’s just unkempt. Hair in one set of bedroom sheets upon arrival. Would not stay agai

Great premium sites. Excellent staff. Plenty of outdoor activities all around especially water sports. Wonderful food choices and even a burger bar. Great family fun.

We loved our 3 night stay in the cabin. The owners were so friendly, the food was terrific and our kids loved the water park. Our only feedback was the cabin was a little dirty. There was still trash left from previous renters, the floor could use a good mop, appliances needing a wipe down and it felt like the mattress in the main bedroom was broken.

Camp ground is beautiful “resort” type stay, however women’s bathrooms for campers were dirty at evening arrival and still at morning departure. Not only did they need to be cleaned but smelled horrible.

We absolutely loved our stay. The entire place is so beautiful. The owner is the most friendly person you will ever meet! He was helpful, kind and made you feel so welcome. There is so much to do between the inflatable obstacle course to kayaking, boating and delicious food. The views are gorgeous! I hope to come back again with my family. We made lasting memories here.

I thought the rate per night was high not much shade But with this being said the campground was clean and it’s new so I can understand about the shade.

Nice facility and the people were friendly. The game room, the store, and the obstacle course on the water were impressive. No shade at the campsites. The girls didn't swim the second day because of snapping turtles at the obstacle course. They had some flat lots but they put us in one of the most uneven ones. Not sure why. Most were empty the whole time we were there.

Really nice, fun, good food, and well-thought out layout too. Mike was great, hope they can make some pull-throughs! Great for a multi-day stay. Note- don't use the Route 46 path to get there, go to the exit off I-24 and I-57 and stay on the paved road!

We did everything that we wanted to do during our stay. The trailer sites had full service with plenty of space between sites. The majority are on graded gravel lots, which is where we were. The lake which is adjacent to the lots is lovely. You can access the lakeside resort which has a store, restaurant, dock, boat rentals, swimming and great ice cream refreshments. The hosts are truly awesome.

Camp host was great. New KOA that doesn't look like a KOA. There is a road between the camp sites and the kids play area with cars going at least 25:mph. There is no swim area at the beach for little kids other than paying for the swim area that has large inflatables that were too big for a 3 year old and difficult for a grandma to climb. I had already paid so list out on $19.

We stayed at a tent site for the weekend. The tent site is very clean. The kitchen area is extremely convenient. Just be sure to know the size of your tent! The mulched area is 14 feet wide. The lake area is a lot fun for the kiddos and the price is great if you are staying at the campground. The lake area is beautiful and the Burger Bar is delicious!

Stayed for a week. We had a blast! Campgrounds were well kept. Camp and resort staff were friendly and attentive. Golf cart rental is a must! Made the stay so much more convenient. Great lake view from campsite. Be sure to rent a Pontoon from Big Worm (Jeremy)! Caught Bass off the docks. Special thanks to Micah! Resort has all the amenities! Micah and staff are very attentive- we had a large party and were able to gather as a group for family dinner- bring your own food and clean up after - under one of the pavilions.The kids loved the water feature. The resort has life vests to borrow so everyone is able to try beating the obstacle course. We all had a great time.

We had a large, beautiful RV site with a fabulous gazebo overlooking a pond. The resort has everything you need in a lakeside resort including a great camp store/gift shop, pizzas, salads, smashburgers and incredible boozy milkshakes. The staff was amazing and the entire resort was meticulously maintained. We had a wonderful 10 day stay!

There were no trees, no lane markers, only loose gravel. We booked a "Lake view" spot, but could not see a lake. We were disappointed, but glad we stayed only one night. A suggestion would be to have more signage leading to you place since it's miles off the highway and use the building by the road as an office to greet your guests.

We rented a cabin. it was fairly clean, but overpriced considering none of the other services/amenities were included. we were restricted to certain check in and check out dates, had to pay extra for boat ramp, boat slip and waterpark. Pretty upsetting when we were already paying close to $1200 for three nights.

Staff, grounds, and the whole experience was amazing! When the power went out and bad storms were approaching the staff were professional and extremely helpful! We will be staying again!!

This site was our most difficult. There are zero protections from the sun here. Not only that, but all the rock reflects the sun. You're blinded while you're baking. Until they fix this, which seems against their model, it will be miserable if you're not in an RV. We camped in a tent and it was the worst. Also, the bathroom floor was flooded with water and the shower didn't drain.

Our family spend one night at the Marion/Shawnee National Forest KOA on our way from Florida to Iowa. We had reserved a tent site and arrived at dusk. We were very impressed with the tent site - there was an area for the tent that had wood chips which was a nice surface and had good drainage. The tent sites were private because of privacy fences between them and each site had a light and outlet
