Saving Marriages One RV Site at a Time

Weary travelers arrive for check-in but they can’t relax just yet. They still have to park their RV at their designated site and that alone can cause anxiety for some just thinking about it. It could be a motorhome, a fifth wheel, a travel trailer, or pop up tent trailer. There are many types and each has its pros and cons to park.

KOA Lincoln City owner Steve Long makes it a priority for his Maintenance Team to escort every RV Guest to their site. He believes it is the perfect opportunity to build rapport and get to know them while they get to know our Maintenance Team during their stay. Danny and Erin, two of our most experienced Maintenance Team members, have heard more times than they can count: “Thank God you were here. You saved our marriage!” Maintenance Team members Jake, Dave and Pat all assist with parking our Guests as well.

Often couples are not the ideal team to coach each other. Tensions rise because accidents can happen, making parking on their own an unpleasant way to start their vacation. This type of scenario is so common that we even have a coffee mug for sale in our General Store that reads: “I’m sorry about what I said to you while we were parking.”

The Maintenance Team calls out to the RV driver (and sometimes very loudly!) the correct directions for turning left or right and pulling forward or backing in to prevent them hitting utility posts, nearby trees or hedges, or low lying block walls. Getting the RV placed so it can easily hook up to their site utilities and open up their slide outs are two ultimate goals.

So next time you drive your RV into our Lincoln City KOA Journey campground, be assured that we will take care of you, get you parked and on your way to enjoy a relaxing stay with us.

Check out a few of our website Reviews about parking assistance…

Aug 02, 2022 “Store staff was friendly. Danny assisted in backing into our site. Very clean. Great dog run area. Best breakfast on-site. Store has a little bit of anything you could want. Excellent!”

Jul 07, 2022 We had a great stay over the 4th of July. Staff helpful. Loved the staff escort to our site and help guiding into back-in site since this was only our 2nd trip with our trailer. Playground, and laundry centrally located.

Jul 09, 2022 “We pulled in without a reservation because our “other spot” was not our cup of tea! The KOA folks helped us back in and were very accommodating. Good amenities - great dog park and Human activities too.”

Jul 10, 2022 “Great little campground, the rv pull through sites are narrow but long enough for even my 40 ft toy hauler. If you allow Danny to help you in and out you will have no problems. The store is well stocked and the breakfast at the Cafe is great! Great staff and well kept grounds.
