I stayed the nights of July 12th and 13th, and departed on the 14th. Both mornings, the women's restroom was either out of toilet paper (in one to two of the 3 stalls) and out of paper towel on one of the days. Also, my camp rug had been taken from my campsite, which I discovered missing the night of the 13th when I returned from my family reunion. It had been taken from my campsite.

This campsite was by far the best I've stayed at. Sites, bathrooms and showers were always cleaned. But what I liked the most is the feeling of being out in the nature and the creek that you can hear at night while you are falling asleep. Highly recommend this site in lake tahoe.

There were multiple issues: 1) Restrooms were not clean, dark, and inadequate for the size of the campsite. 2) Restrooms lacked availability of basic things like toilet seat covers. 3) Showers were dirty. Noone cleaned it. 4) The layout of the campsite was confusing because of lack of direction and signage. 5) The tent site was full of ants. 6) The campground lacked basic maintenance and

Beautiful and well maintained spot for our tent right next to a burbling, icy-cold mountain stream. Facilities were clean and working well! Swimming pool- which isn’t finished yet- looks awesome! General store offered just what campers need. Loved that it was family run, too! Great people doing a great job! Please consider bear boxes is my only ask. Your bears are polite and non- aggressive but

Very narrow site, run down facilities; and attitude front desk staffs

I selected and paid for a "grass pad camp site" but there wasn't any (they refunded the cost of it). I was told there was a water spiket at our site and there wasn't. I was told we could have camp fires and we couldn't. I was told the pool was going to be ready and it wasn't. On the bright side, the bathrooms were clean and very close and the river by the camp was fun to play in. Won't stay again.

Great spot! The staff is amazing, the creek is refreshing, and great location to check out other local lakes! Tahoe was packed for the 4th, so we checked out Fallen Leaf and Echo lakes. Beautiful area!

Reserved 2 sites, and was assigned 2 far away sites as soon as check-in opened around 3pm. When I asked the staff to assign us close camp sites with my friend, she gave us a group site snd charged $48 more. There was no any notice about extra charge for switching our campsites..

We had a great time. The sites are really small and very close together. The bathrooms need a little more attention and more frequent visits, they ran out of paper in the women’s bathroom several times. Now on to the positives. There’s a stream along the back of the sites, very close to everything and the managers of the KOA are super friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely stay again

Our stay at Lake Tahoe was enjoyable. For some of the tent sites they really varied by space in terms of how big the site was. They are not all equal. When we chose our site we were one of the few checked in already, I would have appreciated more freedom in choosing a site or more background about which sites were best.

Looking forward to the competition of the improvement

Sites are to small and unlevel. No amenities for the price.

Very nice new owners, and definitely a work in progress as other reviews have stated. Unfortunately I won’t consider staying there again based on cost. They squeezed us and our 17’ teardrop into a glorified tent site with our rear neighbors a mere 6’ from our window. My advice would be to only use that space as a last resort, or charge a lot less for it than the $101 I paid.

The temp got to below freezing, and we were in tents. If yall know it's going to be that cold don't let rent cling be available. We were still charged for all 3 nights even though we didn't even make it through the first night.

Customer service was amazing! Showers were great and campsite on the creek was so peaceful!

Beautiful area. Bathroom needs more frequent attention to replace paper goods. Parking area was not level. Friendly and efficient staff.

My husband and I came with our son and daughter, our sons classmate and his mother. we all had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the creek in the back saw a baby otter met some enjoyable people. It was a great time. Thank you.

The camp ground was really well kept. The bathrooms were clean. We enjoyed our tent camping spot. We will absolutely be back!

Great location and very helpful staff.

Beautiful campground currently undergoing renovations. Restrooms & showers were clean. A few simple food items in office would be a nice addition. Dump station is in an awkward area & could not be used by my class B van. Hopefully it will be moved to a more open area as part of the renovations.

This was an amazing stay the place has come a long way and is improving every day. The shining stars are the two lovely ladies Vivian and Yerika they made sure me and my group were taken care of and are huge supporters of veterans. Will definitely be looking forward to another stay with them as our hosts.

Staff was so friendly and helpful. The campground was amazing, loved that we had a view of the river. Location is great, easy access to everything around Lake Tahoe.

The staff was very friendly! They made us feel welcomed and gave us helpful tips during our stay. I am grateful for the hospitality they gave!

Great campground and host. The creek behind our site was wonderful.

We stayed right next to the stream. I think we got the best spot on all campground. The staff was friendly and helpful. The campground was clean and beautiful. We will definitely come back to this campground again.

This is a campground that has great potential but is a work in progress. Sites are wooded and picturesque. The earth sites need to be graded and need gravel, a rain you would have you camping in mud. A couple odd sites with electric boxes at the very front of campsite requiring an electric cord longer than 25’. Bathhouse was not bad but not cleaned and restocked throughout the day.

Very nice. I like the way it is kept fairly natural

Overall nice campground. Restrooms are nice and clean. Some of the sites are very tight and little hard to get in, some narrow roads and camp is very dark at night.

I arrived without a reservation. Liz was very nice and accommodating. She gave me a nice site and Emery escorted me to my spot. He was also very friendly. The showers and restrooms were very clean. Thanks for all you do.

First time in Tahoe , everything was conveniently nearby The staff was super friendly! The campground was well kept and clean. From laundry room to the tether ball and ice cream it was a great stay! Loved the 361/362/363 campsite! The small river running nearby was beautiful , just wished it wasn’t raining during our stay. GREAT PLACE! Definitely coming back!

A bear broke into my (locked) car and stole my dog’s kibble. I’m sorry I had to leave early, leaving quite a bit of broken glass on the ground near the car — even more on the back seat! Nevertheless, it was a very nice stay, a good campsite and very clean facilities— just what I needed to end a camping trip before heading down to the big city!

Expensive for what is offered.
Aug 14, 2023
The campground was nice and the staff friendly but the area is too close to the highway so there was a lot of traffic noise day and night. Also, there are no bear boxes so having a bear encounter was a constant issue.

Outstanding The staff was very helpful. Campground was quiet and relaxing We tent camped and Bear activity was high but as long as you follow the staffs directions your good

Good location to Tahoe, but expensive for the experience. The sites are just a few feet from each other so there was zero privacy. The campground is right next to the freeway so there's constant car noise. The bathrooms flushed, but didn't have working soap / paper towels / toilet paper / door locks. We also had to kick off a group on our site, which was frustrating.

For being newly reopen after five years, the campground is in fairly good shape. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Beware of bears. One visited our campsite around 5:00 AM He returned around 5:30.. Be extremely careful if in a tent. The restroom near the tent sites needs work. $150.00 a night seemed high for a tent site; will do something g different next time
Jul 24, 2023
The stay was good. I’d suggest that the website be upgraded as this site still works to get the pool reopened, and fires are not allowed.

The staff was the biggest positive for the Lake Tahoe KOA. The pool was not working. The store was basically just a gift shop. No fires or charcoal allowed. Our spot was nearly impossible to get into, thank god Emory helped guide us but it still took 15 minutes to get in. It is a good looking but tight campground.

This is an excellent camping grounds. The area is beautiful. The staff is outstanding and really added to the enjoyment of my family’s experience. They are so polite, courteous, helpful, and understanding of our needs. Just a very great place to be staying all around. I highly recommend this KOA site to everyone. Thanks.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We did a late checkout and the staff was very nice to let us stay without saying a word. Special thanks to Laila, she even let us borrow her propane stove. We definitely want to stay here again.

Small camp space. Site does not have enough level surface for rent.

As a family travel brand, we've visited campgrounds across the western United States, and Lake Tahoe KOA stands out as a place that makes outdoor adventures easy, enjoyable, and accessible for families. One of the things we appreciated most was its location. It provides a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, while still being somewhere you're happy to return to at the end of the day. Whether you're spending your time on the lake, exploring nearby attractions, hiking, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery, the campground is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region. What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. Families will appreciate the heated pool, playground, seasonal activities, dog run, creek, and beautiful forest setting, while practical amenities like the laundry facilities and camp store make longer stays easy and comfortable. Lake Tahoe KOA is more than just a place to stay—it's a place that helps families slow down, spend time together outdoors, and experience the best of the Tahoe area. We're already looking forward to returning. — Elevated Adventure Fams

As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.

We first stayed here 2 years ago (and I believe it was under new ownership/management then). They were friendly, enthusiastic and intent on improving the place. We returned this week and we're happy to see the same friendly and enthusiastic team and the improvements they had made with more to come. The team was always present and working around the campground. The grounds and buildings were clean and well-kept. We loved our site (111). It accommodated our 37 ft 5th wheel and truck easily. Looking forward to returning.
