First the good, the staff were all fantastic, helpful and professional! Our site was OK The bad: Hwy 50 is very loud with all the traffic and only 50' away from our campsite. The price was exorbitantly high for the amenities included. Pool was under construction Bathrooms need to be updated (very old and worn out)

Customer service was outstanding!! The spots are a little tight and there aren’t many amenities or activities to do. The staff would be the major reason we would make a return trip. They are building it up and redoing the pool however. Just would be nice if they had some activities to do.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible check in experience. I booked this campground 9 months prior to arrival. We were given the worst spot in the campground. Right next to the dumpster, old vehicles (looked like a junkyard) and close to the noisy highway. She said that was what we got as we had requested a pull through. I should have read the other negative reviews prior to booking. Dirty campground.

The owners were super nice. They stayed awake waiting for us to arrive at the campsite. The campsite itself is nicely positioned on the river and close to town. There are many large tree and boulder hazards around the campsite which makes it very difficult for longer RVs like ours. Thank goodness for my experience husband driver to make it around without an incident. Would love to see a dog park!

Campground is in a very cool setting. The staff was great and friendly. My understanding is that his is a newer KOA, but they are doing a great job. We've stayed in over 150 KOAs and this has the potential to be one of the best. It's very similar to Gettysburg, PA KOA from a look and feel with the boulders and charm.

Great location & beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful setting. Parts were under construction so I bet next year it will look even better.
Jul 02, 2024
I know the elevated prices are because of location. A lot of construction going on which was not advertised. Small campsites and tight driving campground. IMO overpriced for what you get.

This is an older campground that’s been changed to a KOA earlier this year. They are actively working on renovation and improvements. It is a tree filled, tight campground built into a hillside. If you don’t know how to maneuver your rig, it will be stressful parking and leaving your campsite spot, especially if you are a larger rig. Very convenient SLT location.

I paid for a pull through and got a back in but was able to get some money back. The site was near the main office, close to the bathrooms. The pool was being renovated so no swimming. The site had full hook ups power and water but the two were so close together that can make some nervous. The camp was far enough away from the crowds that made things more pleasant. The staff were nice and helpful.

Sites not level, too crowded, spaces too tight, too hilly, very dusty!

too much dirt, they should either lay grass or gravel. It was beautiful but everything was full of dirt. Also the Wi-Fi was terrible, I couldn't even connect because the signal was so bad. The host was great but they could use some improvements

The staff was absolutely AMAZING! Everything was so clean and just gorgeous . We truly appreciate the staff though , they went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us . Will definitely be coming back .

Staff was very friendly, level site, lots of trees, and quiet. I know this one is just going to keep getting better as they making improvements and adding more features, for example, a pool is being built. Just a really wonderful experience.

It is obvious the current managers are busting their ***es to raise the level of the Kamp. In addition, when our granddaughter had a serious accident, the prompt response and medical attention shall not be forgotten. We know there are many issues that need to be addressed. We would like to see camp site leveling added to the list We'll be back.

We had a great site right along the water. The area was beautiful. With that being said, I do want to mention that there were a lot of sights that looked like they were a very tight fit. There is a little gift shop at the office and you can get ice, but really nothing else. Also, the wifi was real bad. Most of the time I couldn't get it

This KOA is ran by a very nice family. A very kind and patient family. I mistakenly reserved a back in instead of pull through and the husband/dad helped me get it done on the first try. The campground is small but the mature trees offer privacy.from your side neighbors. Thank you for the sweets (M&Ms and Pepsi) and for the confidence boost for backing it in.

There was construction going on and we were told when we checked in that the jack hammering would be done by Thursday afternoon. It was not and continued through Saturday. We were compensated for the inconvenience.

While the staff is very friendly and helpful, this is not a KOA for big rigs (40ft). The roads are so tight with trees and boulders. We paid for a pull-thru which was really a back-in. Tents and small campers would be ok. It is also the most expensive KOA we have paid for with nothing more than you site, 30 Amp and dirt. We will not be back.

Very friendly great customer service
Jun 25, 2024
The staff was very friendly, helpful, kind, efficient, and professional. It’s obvious that there is a lot of work going on throughout the camp. I thought the price was a little high and there was a lot of road noise, but the setting and location are both great. Once the pool is done and the general clean up of debris is complete, it will be a gem. Suggest stronger WiFi

We made reservations at KOA Klamath Falls which is a stop on our journey to Alaska. It is the prettiest, cleanest KOA I have been in. The park was beautifully landscaped and was so convenient to the stores and places we wanted to see. Just about 50 miles from Crater Lake. I’m sorry I didn’t plan my stay here longer.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The camp is under renovation after 20 years empty, so be patient. The one big thing that I really wasn't happy with it was the level of dirt and dust. We got really dirty, so did our dogs and gear. I think mulch would be really helpful. It's a good location and I would give it a higher rating if wasn't so dusty.
Jun 24, 2024
Staff was super friendly and willing to help. Pine trees provide a lot of shade. The main reason I will not be returning to this campsite is because it is very narrow and can be difficult to maneuver with a larger truck and trailer. It seems like many people were in campsites far too small/short which lead to trucks hanging out into the one lane street.

Nice campground and will return. Very friendly staff.

We drove 3 hours to stay 2 nights. When we got there, our space had been given to someone else, but we weren't told that. She did not have our space available and tried to put us next to the entrance from the freeway and near the remodel of the pool and fence where jackhammering was going on all week. She also tried to charge us over the amount and said it was an extra tax from California. POOOR!

Overall this was a nice stay. The location was perfect for short drives to all sites around Lake Tahoe, especially the South Lake area. The manager was excellent, he does all he can to make sure you're having a good stay. The property is in the process of making improvements, so currently it's not quite up to what I'm sure it will become.

even with the construction it was a great stay everyone was so helpful and right there when you needed them.
Jun 20, 2024
TOO EXPENSIVE for what we got, approx $160 nite w/tax & fees. Sites are really close together. Our site was small (#107) for our 27 ft TT. Barely long enough to park our truck and so narrow our steps getting into the camper went off the pavement. Campground has a lot of trees and large rocks that you have to navigate around. Close to the highway. Lots of traffic noise. Staff was friendly.

good location, nice site next to the stream, clean bathrooms
Jun 20, 2024
Great family staff that is very helpful and professional. Even though space was tight in some areas having a 32-footer needs specific spots just based on the way they are formed. Other than that, it was great to have help placing it in a spot and much appreciated!

Nice park friendly helpful staff. Once the upgrades and improvement projects are complete the park will be even better.

This campground was surrounded by pines and a creek running through it. Real camping with hook-ups. Just 10 min away from the lake, out of the traffic.
Jun 19, 2024
I thought we would be in a paved pull through site because that's what I selected when making reservations. Instead we were up a mountain side and had a hard time getting the trailer in it's spot our truck bumper got damaged from a rock. Our spot was on a slant which was hard with a 2 year old. Directly next to the highway made it hard to sleep at night. Manager was nice during check in.

As others have mentioned this is a KOA, now under new ownership, that is having a new life installed. The management, husband/wife with twins, are super individuals that care about you and your stay! We only stayed one night as we were traveling thru but will definitely look them up when we come back. Take care and thx!

Staff was very friendly. Great location. Pricey!! But we will be back. Could use another shower toilet location.
Jun 16, 2024
This KOA is a work in progress. They are making favorable changes, but it still needs work. We had to ask the bathrooms be cleaned and a party of tent campers stayed up until 2:30 am disrupting quiet. Someone should patrol the campground to enforce quiet hours.

Loved our 2 nights stay - staff so friendly and helpful. I wasn't aware it was quiet so far from the Lake over 8 miles so too far to walk. Family working there were so kind and generous- they took us in their vehicle dropped us off first thing and then picked us up when we were ready to come back. Thanks for a great stay!

Loved our stay. Once the construction is complete you’ll have a nice park

Just an overnighter. Very convenient location. Facilities clean, and staff very friendly. Nice spot amongst the forest.
Jun 13, 2024
Beautiful campground surrounded by majestic pine trees. Staff was very willing to help with anything we needed. We definitely will come back.

Tahoe Koa is a disaster. Between construction on the pool, laundry room from 1960 with no working machines. Red ant hills all over my camp site. 14 year old girl working the office. Stay away
Jun 13, 2024
Beautiful surroundings. Site is a little rugged, but this is camping. KOA Crew was fantastic - welcoming, helpful, friendly.
Jun 12, 2024
Great staff!!! Lots of work going on as park needs lots of attention. They need to learn what size RV can fit in certain spots. Big RVs need large spots

The grounds were in rough shape and undergoing updates. Spectacular view from our site. The best part was the family who is there running the place. They were super friendly and helpful and very hard workers!

As a family travel brand, we've visited campgrounds across the western United States, and Lake Tahoe KOA stands out as a place that makes outdoor adventures easy, enjoyable, and accessible for families. One of the things we appreciated most was its location. It provides a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, while still being somewhere you're happy to return to at the end of the day. Whether you're spending your time on the lake, exploring nearby attractions, hiking, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery, the campground is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region. What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. Families will appreciate the heated pool, playground, seasonal activities, dog run, creek, and beautiful forest setting, while practical amenities like the laundry facilities and camp store make longer stays easy and comfortable. Lake Tahoe KOA is more than just a place to stay—it's a place that helps families slow down, spend time together outdoors, and experience the best of the Tahoe area. We're already looking forward to returning. — Elevated Adventure Fams

As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.

We first stayed here 2 years ago (and I believe it was under new ownership/management then). They were friendly, enthusiastic and intent on improving the place. We returned this week and we're happy to see the same friendly and enthusiastic team and the improvements they had made with more to come. The team was always present and working around the campground. The grounds and buildings were clean and well-kept. We loved our site (111). It accommodated our 37 ft 5th wheel and truck easily. Looking forward to returning.
