Worst KOA I’ve ever stayed at. Only 30 amp service, poor internet, dirty campground, disintegrating roads, oil and grease everywhere, extremely tight campsites, loud road noise and septic odor. Bears roam the campground and one ripped out the drivers window of the truck parked next to our site while we were there. Oh, and it’s also the most expensive KOA I’ve stayed at. Never again.

Friendly staff, clean restrooms, spots were a little tight though.

We enjoyed our stay. Could you please email our receipt for our stay. We received a receipt for ice I bought but not the stay itself. Thanks

Helpful and friendly staff. Very family friendly.

We had a great stay! The family operators were so helpful and kind. Our kids are already asking to go back. We loved the pool! It was a nice refresher after a long hot day at Lake Tahoe. We also ended up needing to change our site at the last minute (we moved from a tent to a pop-up trailer) and they were very accommodating! The only downside is the highway noise but that's nothing KOA can adjust.

The staff were very nice & helpful. But nothing to do-have to travel to hike etc. Right next to highway-so it was noisy with traffic sounds all day/night. That's on us-we should have researched it better. The bathrooms were ok-not super clean and the stalls were so small, it was hard to turn around to sit etc. Definitely not to code as far as the depth goes. The pool was dirty-did not go in.

Most expensive KOA I've stayed at while being the worst. Toilet paper was constantly empty in bathroom. Sewer smell was regular. Highway proximity provided non-stop traffic noise. Sites were cramped. I expected a lot more for the price.
Sep 02, 2024
The KOA was clean and beautiful, however our site was so angled we could not level our trailer. We were also about 30 ft away from our sewer hookup so we were unable to use the hookups we paid for.

Our stay was amazing! The service that the staff delivered was extraordinary! We can’t wait to come back, see yall soon!

Personally I thought the campsites were a little too close to each other. Not much privacy. Other than that everything else was decent.

This is a newly-reopened KOA and management is working hard to bring the campground back to life. They were super friendly and accommodating. We were personally invited by Yerica to be the first in their newly redone pool. It was refreshing. I hope to see some boulders moved and dead trees taken out to make it a bit easier to navigate an RV through the park. Hood luck team. We'll be back!!
Aug 31, 2024
Site very difficult to navigate. Especially back in sites due to large stones.
Aug 27, 2024
The camp managers we very welcoming. The sites spacious and mostly level. We loved being in the woods and having the creek behind us. The KOA location was perfectly placed in between Echo Lake and South lake Tahoe. The bathrooms and laundry facilities were very well maintained and clean. We truly enjoyed our stay at this campground and hope to return in the future

Great location~! Very nice sites.
Aug 27, 2024
The staff here is beyond wonderful. They made our stay exceptional by watching our little dog which allowed us to go on a scenic boat ride that didn’t allow pets. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Very friendly staff and helpful, enjoyed our stay.

Pads are unpaved and many unlevel, sites are next to Highway 50 nosiest traffic noise than all the KOA I have stayed out combined, no cable (even though sites show at one time there was and the wifi only is usable if you are right in front of the store office and the way over priced. The only reason I choice to stay because it was the only RV camping available, which should of been a clue.

TOO NOISY AND TOO MANY BEARS. staff girls were nice but the grumpy guy needs another job. Store was full of stuff but pool was a bath tub.
Aug 21, 2024
The management staff did an incredible job of customer service. Very friendly, great smiles.and even showed the rented camp site via golf cart. Well done!

Very nice campground. However VERY expensive!

Travel Trailer: 25’ Airstream Dates: Mid-August 2024 The staff is excellent and super helpful. The campground is beautiful and feels worlds away from everything. We took our bikes into South Lake Tahoe on a bike trail that kept us off the main roads and was easily accessible from the campground. The spots can be a bit tight, but nothing that can't be navigated. We are coming back ASAP!

The (older) place is wonky. Per KOA usual, the pool was closed, of course, so -1* for that. Also per KOA usual, this campground isn't in South Lake Tahoe. It's half an hour away. Our view was of construction debris.
Aug 19, 2024
We had a great stay, the staff were very friendly and most helpful! We loved all the trees! They are working hard to bring this park up to KOA standards!
Aug 15, 2024
The team and sites are 5 star. I only give this a 4 star because unfortunately it's right next to the highway, so you constantly hear cars passing by instead of getting to enjoy the quietness or sounds of nature.
Aug 15, 2024
Friendly staff with a family atmosphere. Vey accommodating. Plan to come back next year. Facilities were clean.
Aug 13, 2024
It was a peaceful stay even though the highway was right next to our site
Aug 13, 2024
Overall, great stay. Campground located within a few mini of South Lake Tahoe downtown and lake areas. Looks as though the campground is under new management and improvements are currently underway, lots of potential. Looking forward to a future stay.
Aug 13, 2024
Right off the highway. Facilities seemed run down. Showers caked with mild and slime. Odd cars coming and going at all hours and employees zooming around in their personal vehicles and golf cart. Construction every evening with dirt blowing on our camp.
Aug 10, 2024
Started off with being completely lied to about being in pull-thru spots, and the one that was actually a pull-thru spot had the hook-ups at the rear of the pad so we couldn’t be on hookups for our week long stay. We booked this place because it had a pool and a playground, the playground was mediocre and the pool was out of service which sucked for our kids. Stay somewhere else!

Extremely friendly and helpful . Would definitely come back
Aug 10, 2024
We would recommend the park due to it's location to Lake Tahoe. It is not too far and is away from the hustle and bustle from the city itself. The highway noise is a little annoying. The park itself is a little tired. Our site was not that level and waking around the park this seemed to be more the rule than the exception. Again, the next time we visit we may stay at Lake Tahoe KOA

The lots are cramped and the property needs some TLC.

The staff is attentive, friendly, and informative which brings my rating up immensely. The facilities were clean and the sites are fairly spacious. The price for this campground was extremely high; so I was expecting a lot of amenities and updated facilities. I understand they are at the beginning stages of renovation- including the pool. The road noise also distracted from our experience.
Aug 06, 2024
More Holiday status than Journey. Pool unavailable, extremely small playground for kids. As KOA members, this was a very difficult RV park to park in! Huge boulders to dodge and drive over, very narrow spots. Add to that, the freeway, on a downhill 55mph, extremely noisy. With pool out of commission, prices should be dropped in our opinion.

Nice campground among the pine trees. “Most” sites being paved is an exaggeration. If you want a paved site be sure to check that. The rest are a solid but very fine dirt that gets everywhere. We have a 35’ 5th and it was really tight getting into our site. Only because my husband is very skilled at backing up were we able to get in. The site was not very level either.
Aug 05, 2024
Campground needs updates. The sites are in need of gravel or solid surface pavement. Pool not up and running. Playground old and not kept up. Main roads need to be re done. Water leak causing muddy area near us. The campground was not worth the price and experience that we received.
Aug 05, 2024
Park is not up to KOA standards. It’s to expensive for the quality of camp ground.
Aug 05, 2024
It did not qualify to be a KOA. The sites were way too small and rocky. The bathroom was out of towels and not kept up.
Aug 03, 2024
Very displeased with our stay at this KOA. After talking to the maintenance man who had come out to our site twice to repair the 30 amp circuit was that this KOA had recently been franchised. This KOA Park does not qualify to be a KOA, not even close I paid nearly $1100 for this rip off. Tree trimmings piled up behind the sites downed light fixtures just laying on the ground. I Have Pics to show

Great location and at a great price.
Aug 03, 2024
road noise is constant, before we checked out the power went out suddenly check all connections and went to office multiple time and no one was to be found, on our way out we noticed that there was a person working on one of the electrical hookup boxes which probably caused the issue.

Beautiful little camp ground in the forest, wonderful and very accommodating staff, clean bathrooms. Will plan on staying there again
Aug 02, 2024
The pool was empty, bathrooms dirty, campground very small / spaces tight, right next to main road. Left me very unimpressed. Would not recommend or return. And expensive!

We were surprised the pool was under construction and this was not mentioned at the time of our reservation. There was also a fire ban and you were unable to use charcoal to bar b que your meals. This was also not mentioned on their website. We rented paddleboards one day and the attended at the office should be trained to have better customer service and computer skills.
Aug 01, 2024
Men’s restroom needed more attention then it received and people should not be allowed to remodel their RVs in the camp. It was like living in a construction site with the noise from power tools

Expensive stay, but a beautiful area. Campground staff were awesome. Friendly and helpful. A bit snug for a large rig towing a trailer, but they moved my site, as I was a bit on the snug side. Laundry could have been a bit cleaner, dryers with dirt.

What amazing people! We had a lovely site and had a wonderful time… until my husband had a health crisis and was taken by ambulance to Reno. The family that manages this KOA were amazing. I was overwhelmed with fear, decisions, and had not towed our 33' Airstream on my own. The managers stepped in, broke down my site, got me hitched, and safely on the road. They also let the Reno KOA know I was on my way so they also stepped in to get me set up in the new location. I highly recommend this gem of a location and staff.

As a family travel brand, we've visited campgrounds across the western United States, and Lake Tahoe KOA stands out as a place that makes outdoor adventures easy, enjoyable, and accessible for families. One of the things we appreciated most was its location. It provides a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, while still being somewhere you're happy to return to at the end of the day. Whether you're spending your time on the lake, exploring nearby attractions, hiking, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery, the campground is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region. What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. Families will appreciate the heated pool, playground, seasonal activities, dog run, creek, and beautiful forest setting, while practical amenities like the laundry facilities and camp store make longer stays easy and comfortable. Lake Tahoe KOA is more than just a place to stay—it's a place that helps families slow down, spend time together outdoors, and experience the best of the Tahoe area. We're already looking forward to returning. — Elevated Adventure Fams

As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.
