We absolutely loved this KOA! We had a site by the water, and it was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. The staff was exceptional and gave lots of TLC to our dog as well. Our stay was only for two nights, and we were very sad to have to leave so soon. We are hoping to be back in the near future!

Awesome place! Immaculate , staff extremely friendly and helpful. Nice pads. Highway noise a bit loud, but that's tu be expected. Not the parks fault. Amenities were in great condition!

Great little campground. Love the rushing stream behind our site. Staff was amazing and very friendly and helpful. We will be staying here again, when we are in the area.

Nice staff but very tight camping spots. No privacy, very small pool not worth the price. Will not be back

The campground was nice and everyone was very friendly, however, it is too close to Hwy 50. Instead of hearing nature sounds, we only heard traffic. I know there is not much to be done about this, it is what it is. However, if you can choose a spot closer to the creek, do so. The ones at the front of the campground are not great.

Love this campground! The staff are amazing and make you feel at home and safe. I love that they make it possible to get my favorite site when I reserve. I will keep coming back for sure! The only improvement I would like to see is cable hookup and better WiFi.

We enjoyed the KOA location and our great site was excellent as we had no surrounding RVs. I downgraded the rating because of the pool hours-530pm is just a little early. After a day enjoying Lake Tahoe it would be nice to return to that cute, clean pool. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. We hope to return!

Very good except 25.00 fee for 2 hr early check in not cool , was the only one checking in at the time and site was ready !! I get it when you’re super busy . Not all koa,s would have charged us this .

Excellent staff! Location is close to everything you could ever want to to outdoors. Only reason 4 instead of 5 stars, is daytime traffic noise, but, its very quiet after dusk. Overall, this place worked very well for us.

I've enjoyed Tahoe since I was a child, and I'm 66 now. I had seen the KOA sign at the foot of Echo Summit for decades, but this was the first time we ever there. Enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly!

This campground is way overpriced. $200 for one nite. The campground is right off the highway and our campsite was next to the highway. The campsite was small and the roads through the campground were in need of repair. Only half of washers worked and No laundry soap available for sale in the shop either. No toilet paper or paper towels in the restroom. Dumpster was overflowing.

Our stay was amazing. The KIA staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. By the end of the trip, they felt like friends. The back in spots are by hwy 50 and you hear traffic, but the beauty of the campsite takes away the nuisance of the noise. The camp ground is tight to maneuver through due to the natural beauty of the forest, but doable and the staff is always there to help.

The camp ground is over all very good, but our site was terrible. Would like to see some trails to walk on by the creek. the staff is wonderful. If we ever travel to that area again we would definitely stay there again.

We stayed 2 nights in our 5th wheel. Park is right off of the highway, easy in & out. Not far from Lake Tahoe. Staff is very helpful & friendly. Our rig fit in the pull through with full hook ups. The setting is wonderful in the trees and a creek runs across the back of the park

We love KOA and have stayed in their campgrounds for the past 7 years. Lake Tahoe Journey KOA has a good location and incredible views near South Lake Tahoe but it’s a bit overpriced compared to resort and holiday KOAs. The spaces are good and had full hookups. Manager Frank and his daughter Janelle provided excellent customer service. Family friendly environment.

Nice and clean campground. Friendly and helpful staff. The only thing I didn’t care for was hearing the noise traffic as the road was right behind us. Other then that it’s a nice space to put your head down

It was very compact . The roads were narrow making it difficult to back into site. Further from town than expected. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Great camping spot in Lake Tahoe. The spots by the creek are great and you can hear the rushing water all the time. The park is very nice. It is wooded and is very peaceful.

We had a lovely stay at the Lake Tahoe KOA. The campground is well-maintained and very clean. There aren’t as many amenities at this KOA as there are in many others where we have stayed. But there is so much to do in the area. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.

We first stayed here 2 years ago (and I believe it was under new ownership/management then). They were friendly, enthusiastic and intent on improving the place. We returned this week and we're happy to see the same friendly and enthusiastic team and the improvements they had made with more to come. The team was always present and working around the campground. The grounds and buildings were clean and well-kept. We loved our site (111). It accommodated our 37 ft 5th wheel and truck easily. Looking forward to returning.
