We had a great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back.

Sites are really close. When the Rv next to ours used their toilet you could smell the odor at the picnic bench. Very friendly staff, clean restrooms. The space between sites was an issue along with paying $25 for an extra car.

We had a great time in South Lake Tahoe. The staff was helpful and friendly. The camp was clean. If you are looking for lots of space, this is not the campground for you. The sites are quite small and so are the bathrooms.

Heavily overpriced

It seemed like the charges for our stay were very high compared to other KOAs.

Very crowded, grumpy customer service , location was not great

Came from Seattle for my grandsons first camping trip. Several tries before we were able to find a site that would accommodate a truck and camper with a tent. First site only had 110 power. Second site only had 50 amp. We were finally able to find a site that worked, but when reviewing credit card charges, discovered we were overcharged by $64 and it took two days to get straightened out.

It was okay, sites are small and very close to other sites and also noisy with highway traffic.

Very accommodating on short notice. WIFI would not work very well. TV connection did not work.

Great place to stay in Tahoe, close to the lake and nice, private spaces

Our campsite was supposed to be a pull through, but the way they had it set up we had to back in. It was extremely overpriced for what/where it was, and considering we had to go through Meyers, CA coming from South Lake Tahoe to get there, it’s very misleading to say it’s a “Lake Tahoe” campground.

Very much over priced. Spaces are tight for a 30 ft. Trailer and truck.

Staff was friendly, could have warned us about the bear that was visiting 4 days in a row plus 3 of 4 days that we were there (car alarms & air horns to scare it away at all hours of the night. Also, while we appreciate everyones religion its a little overboard that theres Jesus Saves stickers / agenda all over the camp.

Woman who made my reservation was amazing. She was so nice to deal with when I arrived and because we had a huge travel trailer she put us in a perfect spot. It was amazing. Thank you so much for everything. We will be back.

Was wonderful! Had a bear sighting but it was really cool and funny to watch. Only bad thing was the other campers were walking right thru our site all day long.

This place is amazing and the area breathtaking. I would move here if I could. Hiking, biking, snow on the mountain tops, and the ability to play in water and lay out in the sun.

What amazing people! We had a lovely site and had a wonderful time… until my husband had a health crisis and was taken by ambulance to Reno. The family that manages this KOA were amazing. I was overwhelmed with fear, decisions, and had not towed our 33' Airstream on my own. The managers stepped in, broke down my site, got me hitched, and safely on the road. They also let the Reno KOA know I was on my way so they also stepped in to get me set up in the new location. I highly recommend this gem of a location and staff.

As a family travel brand, we've visited campgrounds across the western United States, and Lake Tahoe KOA stands out as a place that makes outdoor adventures easy, enjoyable, and accessible for families. One of the things we appreciated most was its location. It provides a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, while still being somewhere you're happy to return to at the end of the day. Whether you're spending your time on the lake, exploring nearby attractions, hiking, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery, the campground is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region. What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. Families will appreciate the heated pool, playground, seasonal activities, dog run, creek, and beautiful forest setting, while practical amenities like the laundry facilities and camp store make longer stays easy and comfortable. Lake Tahoe KOA is more than just a place to stay—it's a place that helps families slow down, spend time together outdoors, and experience the best of the Tahoe area. We're already looking forward to returning. — Elevated Adventure Fams

As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.
