It was a tight squeeze. The road to our pull thru site was narrow, there was rocks and boulders, we had to maneuver more than if we had a back in site. They are just getting back open and remodeling, the staff is really helpful. It is right off the freeway, so you'll hear cars pass by, but the river was next to us and it made up for the freeway noise. They do give you a bear warning, it's Tahoe.

The staff is outstanding!!

Every staff member we engaged with was wonderful, especially the hosts. We were ecstatic to book last minute into Tahoe and had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend. Grounds and facilities were well maintained.

We enjoyed the spot. Very beautiful with the Creek running right behind us , but the site was small and not much room to spread out. Bathrooms need updating. Camp managers were very helpful and doing the best they can. Price was too much.

No bells and whistles at this koa but if you want to camp in a beautiful forest with a wild creek flowing through the back, well, this is the place for you. The staff is friendly and helpful. This campground is a diamond in the rough and one one you can expect to only get better.

Staff was friendly and took care of an issue with my reservation. Spots are great! Some bathrooms were closed so that was a bummer.

KOA SLake Tahoe was fabulous! The campground scenery is gorgeous but don’t hold a candle to the management and staff. They were super welcoming and helpful is an understatement. Emery and Layla went over and above to make our stay comfortable. Definitely somewhere we will return.ϋ

Needs a major amount of work to get it close to what we expect from a KOA. Even though there were spaces available nearer the bathroom, we were assigned a non-level site right near Hiway 50. There was no thought on how to maximize the customer’s enjoyment of the stay.

So I will be honest here, the campground itself left a lot to be desired while we were there but it was no ones fault except mother nature’s. The new young managers working hard every day to get it back in shape made our stay worth it. They made us feel welcome, immediately cleaned a sight out for us and had it looking great and checked on us throughout our stay. We most definitely will be back!

The site was too small for us - not much walk around space! WiFi was pretty good! They also need a larger sign on the road - we had a hard time finding they location!

They are making every effort to make your stay a good one after being closed for the past few years.

Staff was great. Campground location in great on river but pricey considering pool was non functional, bathrooms were mostly closed, and store/office is not set up yet. Would expect a reduced rate until Campground is fully operational.

Staff were all really nice. Campground is still in general needing some updating. Looks like it was let go a little over the last few years. Pool is out of action, store being rebuilt, restrooms need some attention, campsites are needing some tidy up. It’s a nice location. Staff are working hard to fix it which I appreciated. It’s a little expensive given the condition at the moment honestly.

Great place!

The campground is beautiful and clean! Great service!

This place has been closed for four years. I think we were there opening weekend they shouldn’t have opened! facility was overgrown and needing lots of work!! only plus was the employees employees were four-star.

Nice campground, but restrooms, sites, ... in poor condition. Peiple very friendly but rather unprofessional.

Great enjoyable stay. Staff was excellent. Two of the employees brought us a picnic table. Overall great experience.

Camp host were friendly and very helpful. The bathrooms were old and needed a good scrubbing. Remodeling office are 0 store. Not near as up to date as the other KOAs we have stayed and it’s way more expensive. The surrounding is beautiful beside a creek. It’s about 10 miles into town. Worth seeing Tahoe 1 time only. We prob wouldn’t go back.

Even though this site was getting thier opening completed from a long closure, the site was the BEST KOA we have stayed at yet. Creak running high with winter runoff, huge ponderosa pine and cypress trees and those boulders - WOW. Great folks working there as well. Highly recommended.

This is not ready for customers yet. Needs lots of work. Other than full hookup and WiFi, this was worse than most Forest Service sites. No amenities at all. Definitely not up to KOA standards. Extremely disappointed.
May 24, 2023
They are just getting out of snow, but they were enthusiastic and very good at making our stay great.
May 24, 2023
They were working very hard to get ready for Memorial Day weekend.
May 24, 2023
Nice people. Working hard to make the campground a pleasant experience.
May 23, 2023
The campground staff are very wonderful and helpful! We needed a place to stay last minute and they were happy to accommodate. Our 45’ rig would not have made it through the interior roads, but we were able to pull right into a spot and back right out. There aren’t any amenities yet but they are working toward that. About 10 minutes from town.

Der Park hat uns gut gefallen. Der Verwalter hat sich größte Mühe gegeben, die Plätze trotz Schmelzwasser und Restschnee bewohnbar zu machen. Die Sanitäranlagen sind veraltet, aber sauber. Super freundlicher Empfang.

Emery was GREAT! Was very accommodating and made sure everything was working at our site. It was cleaned up when we arrived. Came back the next day to be sure everything was good. Will stay here again on our next trip to SLT.

Very expensive. Cable did not work. Very difficult to park trailer. Cory was friendly and helpful.

Good stop on I-80. Close to casinos for food and entertainment. Clean restrooms and showers.

Nice sites, mostly along the stream. Old fixed structures, haven't been renewed in a long time. But what's more important: it's just alongside the US50, which has traffic going all day long, including at night. Even in a trailer or RV you are living with the constant "vrooom vrooom" of cars and trucks. To pay $108 per night for the privilege makes no sense at all.

Excellent campground!

Not sure why we were assigned space 48 as a pull thru when I barely made it into and thru space due to boulders on one side and a transformer on the other. Map was drawn to pull thru but really need to back in... then transformer in middle of open area. We were assigned a different space but denied several others that were previously reserved. No one showed up in spaces for 3 days we were there.

It was a wonderful experience from the time we made reservations with Shaun and pulled in to the office to find everyone so friendly and helpful. We were taken to our site and helped to pull in. Soon Tom showed up to see how we were doing and filled us in on everything. Our neighbor Jen who was a long term camper was such a delight and loved it there too. Your campground should be so proud.

My second visit here and both have been great
Sep 16, 2018
Upon checking in we were told that it would be $80 for a site with just electric. We felt that was very high and she said, “well you are in Tahoe!” When the reservation process was completed the rate had gone up to $90. At that point our RV was already on a site so we just stayed there, but would NEVER stay there again! Feeling ripped off is not a good feeling! Mark & Deborah Connelly

The people that run this campground are very nice and accommodating! Campground was typical for the area sandy sites, ( they did have paved sites for extra $) landscaped nicely. The only negative was the price of the sites.

Had bears. No food storage boxes. Road noise was all night long. Very expensive double all the other koa's.Bathesrooms could use some remodeling. Water was hot.one good plus the crew were great. Need to paint roads with lines or arrows. Hard to guess.

Wonderful mountain park!!! 6 miles away from the hustle of the city and Lake but super relaxing! Great people, great pool, bathrooms need more light for the elderly! Sites are packed in tight but but staff super helpful with everything! Fantastic store! Great WiFi, great cable, great water pressure! It’s sll good!

The campground was kept clean and neat, most of the staff was helpful and friendly. The place was way over priced even for Lake Tahoe many of the other camp grounds with full hookups were 40 to 50 % cheaper. There was an awful lot of highway noise as camp site was approx. 50 yards from a major road that vehicles were coming down hill into town

What amazing people! We had a lovely site and had a wonderful time… until my husband had a health crisis and was taken by ambulance to Reno. The family that manages this KOA were amazing. I was overwhelmed with fear, decisions, and had not towed our 33' Airstream on my own. The managers stepped in, broke down my site, got me hitched, and safely on the road. They also let the Reno KOA know I was on my way so they also stepped in to get me set up in the new location. I highly recommend this gem of a location and staff.

As a family travel brand, we've visited campgrounds across the western United States, and Lake Tahoe KOA stands out as a place that makes outdoor adventures easy, enjoyable, and accessible for families. One of the things we appreciated most was its location. It provides a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, while still being somewhere you're happy to return to at the end of the day. Whether you're spending your time on the lake, exploring nearby attractions, hiking, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery, the campground is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region. What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. Families will appreciate the heated pool, playground, seasonal activities, dog run, creek, and beautiful forest setting, while practical amenities like the laundry facilities and camp store make longer stays easy and comfortable. Lake Tahoe KOA is more than just a place to stay—it's a place that helps families slow down, spend time together outdoors, and experience the best of the Tahoe area. We're already looking forward to returning. — Elevated Adventure Fams

As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.
