Management is wonderful! Park unfortunately is poorly designed and highway noise is bothersome. Restrooms are excellent. Store is good. I wish the people running it good luck and prosperity.

The sites are not level and the terrain makes it difficult to level. Several trailers had a very difficult time navigating through the campground. The staff does not have experience with rv/ trailer camping and need to put a size limit in the park. The staff was unprofessional and dressed unprofessional. The dryers barely worked. Beautiful location but will likely not return there.

The facilities were getting renovated but everything was functional except the pool. Navigating and backing were tight but the staff provided ground guides who were excellent! The power went out for a day which was not great. The host, Emory worked his butt off to fix it and they gave us a little credit for the inconvenience. When things go wrong, it's noticed when a place steps up. Thanks!

The power blew in the camp site next to us and half the park who didn't have generators had to leave. It was a hot weekend so air conditioning was a must. Because the wiring problem, we were unable to sit outside all weekend as a maintenance crew had ladders and wiring all over our outside camp area. It spoiled our time there. We would of liked to be offered a free night or two as compensation

Power went out for 24hrs. They did not offer a discount. It is a great location.

I think this park & the hosts have great potential, however I think that refurbishing this site back to KOA standards is a lot after sitting for 5 years. There was an electrical fire in the system feeding the RV pedestals. The hosts did not have keys to the electrical box. Fortunately, circuit breakers tripped and the power shut off. The electrical system needs to be checked out for safety.

Very nice campground. Full hookups and spacious spots with lots of trees. We overlooked the creek. I would definitely recommend it to friends. Lake Tahoe is the biggest & prettiest lake. The staff was very happy & welcoming.

Wonderful staff. Facility undergoing upgrades. We would stay there again.

Very helpful staff

KOA was awesome and accommodated our literal last minute reservation! Life savers! All staff was extremely polite, respectful and helpful!! Thanks for a wonderful trip

Amazing Staff! Very friendly & helpful. Beautiful area and river running through the campground. As much as we wanted to love this campground the sites are quite small with a 24 foot trailer it is was a squeeze! Took us awhile to get the trailer situated with the help of some very friendly and helpful neighbors. We probably won’t return just due to the tight fit. But we enjoyed our time there!

Park is under new management after being closed for years. Beautiful park with the Creek. Hard to enter campsites with 32 foot trailer but staff was very good at directing and doing everything possible to help. Could not buy propane because no one there had certification to pump it. No campfires or charcoal fires allowed although other non city campgrounds did. Worst mosquitoes I ever seen.

This was probably our worst KOA experience since we joined KOA membership 2 years ago. We have stayed at about 8 different KOA’s and this was by far the worst KOA we have stayed at. We will not be back again.

The spaces are very tight and precarious. We had to help many of the campers maneuver in and out of their spaces so they could avoid hitting rocks, trees, or other vehicles. We were unable to fully extenders because the tree branches.

Staff is awesome and so very helpful. Facility is in major need of remodel, extremely outdated. Sites are overgrown with brush and extremely small.

Our camp hosts were amazing!!! as was their staff. i had an electrical issue with our older trailer and they jumped right in to assist with an ohm meter finding 2 bad fuses.in the end it was simply a loose wire. They even came by later to check on us. Great People!! WE will definitely Highly recommend our ,family and friends, And We'll Be Back!!!

Great staff. Facility needs some help.
Jul 04, 2023
The employees are awesome. The grounds need help.
Jul 04, 2023
The spaces are too small and the entire facility feels too crowded. More like a parking lot and does not justify the charges at all. Even the dustbins that were right next to our site were overflowing and no one cared to empty or clear them.

Very customer oriented - helped us in a number of ways

The camp hosts made it a 5! Welcoming, helpful, and just all good.

Great hosts, very helpful. Looking forward to coming back many times.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the park, however (having been to many KOAs) it is overpriced for the current amenities. The pool was not open, the restrooms were rundown, and the wifi was unavailable most of the time we were there. We were also charged a $5/nt/per pet, pet fee that was not quoted on the app when we made our reservation.

We found everything to be great at this campground.
Jul 02, 2023
Staff very nice and helpful, doing the best they can with old facilities & camp sites that need work. Bathrooms & laundry badly need renovation. Pool is closed. Hi 50 noisy. Mosquitos a problem. Most sites have good space between them but are very rustic. After our initial disappointment, we enjoyed the forest setting & creek was very pleasant. Only RV park at Tahoe with availability.

Great campground, glad it's back open! Super friendly staff, clean restrooms and showers! Cool little gem of a spot a little bit away from Lake Tahoe.

So glad this KOA reopened Very helpful staff Restrooms very clean Deliverer wood to our campsite AWSOME After being closed for quite some time our full hook-ups worked GREAT We will camp again here THANK YOU

It’s very close to the highway which gives a lot of road noise if you are not closer to the river…also, most spots are pretty tight. Did not use any amenities as pool was being rehabbed. One of the most expensive KOA’s I’ve stayed at for what it offered. However, staff and Cory in particular very helpful.

Wonderful!

The campground was taken over only shortly by KOA. Before it was unattended for 5 years. It is really run down, but the die Manager is very attending and ambitious to bild it up. Nevertheless, more than 150$ are not acceptable for the quality it is currently in.
Jun 27, 2023
The Upper Truckee River runs right behind campground, which drowns out the traffic noise, as Highway 50 runs on the other side of the campground. Lots of trees, and really pleasant. The weather was fairly cool while we were there, but there is good sunlight to seek out to sit in. The roadways are very narrow, and large RVs struggle.

New ownership and the staff are extremely helpful. There's a lot going on to get the site going again after being closed for 5 years. So I would say there are some rough edges -- and it's a little confusing with the new numbering system because the signage and the online maps don't match the space numbers. But this will be resolved with time. We'd come back.

Amazing location, helpful staff. The newly opened resort needs a lot of work to get it to the level of other KOAs. Sites are very tight for RVs, need to trim more branches and remove a few more trees. But the gorgeous river front sites and the sound of the rushing river make it a wonderful destination.

We loved it! Great privacy & friendly staff! Woodsy feel and close to lots of activities! Thank you!

Team was very helpful. While this campground is “Rustic” by KOA standards It is a Diamond in the Ruff.

It’s a quiet park by a beautiful creek. When the new owners are completed their renovations, this will be a STUNNING campground. The camp hosts—Emet and Layla—are FANTASTIC! They are incredibly welcoming, accommodating, positive, joyful and pleasant. We appreciated them. Layla went out of her way to help us get the best spot for our RV. It was a wonderful stay.

Like others have stated. Not up to KOA standards. The staff is friendly and I believe they are trying to get things up to par. The campground is very outdated and rundown. Store still under remodel, pool closed, no propane, no dog park. Trash was not cleaned up, full dumpsters. Roads are very narrow and difficult to navigate with a larger rig. Saw several rigs including mine get pin stripped.

The hospitality was great. They are working hard to improve after reopening.
Jun 23, 2023
Very Friendly staff and park neat with Clean bathrooms. Laundry room clean and functional but very cluttered. What kept this site from being rated a 5 was that they had no staff qualified to dispense propane and a bit pricey even though it was probably in line with other sites in the Tahoe area .

Talk about customer service. The Manager brought us in a perfect pull thru site, helped us set up. This was at 10pm. The next day we asked if we could move closer to the river. Harder spot to set up in but what we wanted. Again, no issues with the move. Manager even moved some hoses we left in our original site. When we returned the next day he ran over to make sure no issues and we got backed in.

our campsite backed right up to a stream-so lovely. we enjoyed the proximity to tahoe-as we had a few tee times around meyers + south lake tahoe. Although I know this KOA has ongoing construction for upgrades, neither the toilets nor the showers seemed like they were cleaned regularly.
Jun 20, 2023
Amenities not up to par of other KOAs. No Wi-Fi even though the antenna was 20 feet away, no television connection. Facilities clean. One staff member was helpful, the others appeared that they didn’t want to be bothered. Store lacking essentials. RV pads only dirt, not gravel or concrete. Sites are too close together.
Jun 19, 2023
It was a tight squeeze. The road to our pull thru site was narrow, there was rocks and boulders, we had to maneuver more than if we had a back in site. They are just getting back open and remodeling, the staff is really helpful. It is right off the freeway, so you'll hear cars pass by, but the river was next to us and it made up for the freeway noise. They do give you a bear warning, it's Tahoe.

As a family travel brand, we've visited campgrounds across the western United States, and Lake Tahoe KOA stands out as a place that makes outdoor adventures easy, enjoyable, and accessible for families. One of the things we appreciated most was its location. It provides a fantastic base for exploring everything the Lake Tahoe area has to offer, while still being somewhere you're happy to return to at the end of the day. Whether you're spending your time on the lake, exploring nearby attractions, hiking, or simply enjoying the mountain scenery, the campground is perfectly positioned to make the most of the region. What also stood out was how connected the campground is to the local community. The onsite family was generous with recommendations and genuinely passionate about helping guests make the most of their Lake Tahoe visit. Through conversations with them, we discovered local businesses, activities, and experiences that we may otherwise have missed. It felt less like checking into a campground and more like being welcomed into the area by people who truly love where they live. Families will appreciate the heated pool, playground, seasonal activities, dog run, creek, and beautiful forest setting, while practical amenities like the laundry facilities and camp store make longer stays easy and comfortable. Lake Tahoe KOA is more than just a place to stay—it's a place that helps families slow down, spend time together outdoors, and experience the best of the Tahoe area. We're already looking forward to returning. — Elevated Adventure Fams

As a New Zealander visiting Lake Tahoe, this campground was exactly what I picture when I think of an iconic American family camping holiday. Staying in a Deluxe Cabin gave me the perfect balance of comfort and camping. It was clean, welcoming, and well-equipped—everything I needed for a relaxing family stay. What I'll remember most, though, is the setting. The smell of the pine trees was so fresh and distinctive that I know it will always remind me of this campground. Waking up amongst the towering trees and spending my days outdoors felt like a genuine escape from everyday life. My children absolutely loved their time here, especially exploring the creek, swimming in the pool, and playing on the playground. There was always something for them to do, and the campground struck a wonderful balance between being peaceful and family-friendly. Another thing I appreciated was how accessible and welcoming the managingfamily was. They were often around the campground, genuinely interested in making sure guests were enjoying their stay, and always happy to share recommendations or answer questions. It was clear they care deeply about the property, and I enjoyed hearing about some of the improvements and future plans they have for the campground. This was a wonderful introduction to camping in the Lake Tahoe area, and I'm already looking forward to staying again.

We first stayed here 2 years ago (and I believe it was under new ownership/management then). They were friendly, enthusiastic and intent on improving the place. We returned this week and we're happy to see the same friendly and enthusiastic team and the improvements they had made with more to come. The team was always present and working around the campground. The grounds and buildings were clean and well-kept. We loved our site (111). It accommodated our 37 ft 5th wheel and truck easily. Looking forward to returning.
