Motorcycle Rides in Tennessee and North Carolina

Looking for Tennessee Motorcycle roads? There is no lack of twisty, turning roads in the area. These become a riding paradise for motorcycle enthusiasts. A set of rides referred to as the Southern Dozen all originate in Johnson City, which is only minutes away from Jonesborough/Cherokee NF KOA. We have some of the best motorcycle rides in Tennessee, close to camp!

Nearby places to visit on these rides include Blue Hole Falls ( The Snake ride), Davy Crockett Birthplace (Places of the Past ride), and Clinchfield Railroad Museum (Two Rivers, One Mountain, & Ten Million Trout Eggs ride).

For a unique dining experience, try the Vinegar Pie ride, a delicious East Tennessee Motorcycle ride. This will take you to the Clinch Mountain Lookout Restaurant in Thorn Hill, TN. The story is told that during the depression era, lemons were not available. The resourceful ladies in the area used apple cider vinegar instead and vinegar pie was born.

Before you head back to the campground, make a stop at the Veterans Overlook at Clinch Mountain. There is a scenic view of Cherokee Lake in Bean Station, TN. Please visit www.southerndozen.com or download the app for more detailed information.

For an exciting day trip, take a ride on The Rattler, NC HWY 209 near Clyde, NC. There are 290 curves in 24 miles. There always seems to be a scenic mountain stream nearby and plenty of pull-offs to take in all of the scenic views.

Wherever your two or three wheels take you, Jonesborough/Cherokee NF KOA makes a great home base for all of your Tennessee motorcycle rides!
