Jonesborough/Cherokee KOA Campground Information

Maximum Stays

Maximum stays for tent sites is 7 nights.  All RV sites booked on the river loop must be occupied. If you plan to use Jonesborough KOA as a home base for overnight excursions, please book on the upper loop.  For reservations of 10 nights or more, a non-refundable $250 deposit is required and the 48 hour cancellation policy no longer applies. On stays of 10 nights or more, 50% of stay will be collected 45 days before arrival and is not refundable.  If you book online, you will be contacted. We do not offer monthly rates.

Cancellation Policies

2 Day Cancelation notice required for deposit minus $10 cancelation fee to be refunded on RV sites, excluding holidays and Bristol Races, which are 8 day cancelation notice for a refund of deposit minus $10 cancelation fee. All lodging is a 8 day cancelation notice for a refund minus $10 cancelation fee, excluding first weekend in October. For stays of 10 nights or longer a $250 deposit is collected and is nonrefundable, the KOA 48 hours cancelation policy is no longer in effect. 10 night or longer stays have a deposit of 50% 45 days before arrival and are nonrefundable.
STORYTELLING / APPLE FESTIVAL FIRST FULL FRI/SAT WEEKEND IN OCTOBER : THERE IS NO REFUND FOR CANCELLATIONS 45 DAYS OF ARRIVAL OR LESS, NO EXCEPTIONS 
All guests are responsible for all dates reserved, regardless of arrival or departure date. Because we have saved your site for the dates you have chosen, there are no refunds for early departures.

Site Selection

If you would like to select a specific site you may utilize the KOA Select My Site Option. After choosing the site type online, you will see a clickable option under the pricing that says "select my site."
Click on this and a map will appear. The available sites listed in that site type . Click on the available site number from the drop down to continue your reservation.

After Hours Check In

It is best to try to check in before dark. We are in a natural setting with low lighting in most of the campground.
If you are arriving after camp store hours please pull up in the driveway in front of the bath house to keep the entrance/exit clear. Go to the General Store sign to your left, and up the steps. The main entrance door is always open. Directly inside this door you will find an envelope with your name on it sitting on the counter at the night registration area. The route to your site will be marked. Bathroom Codes at bottom of map.

Visitor Policy

All visitors to your site must have a pass. The visitor fee for day guests is $3 per person, which may be charged to your site upon their arrival. Please have your guest stop at the office to obtain a parking pass and the fee will be placed on your site or may be paid in cash. The maximum number of people at the site during the day is 8 including registered guests. Guests may need to park in overflow based upon availability.

Firewood and Ice Delivery

We deliver firewood and ice right to your site and can charge it to your site. Call the office during office hours and we will be happy to deliver. If it is after hours and you need wood, come to the wood cart by the store entrance, help yourself and call the office the next day to have it added to your site. We are on the honor system.

Early Departure

Please be aware there are no refunds for early departures.

One Camping Unit per Site

One camping unit per site is allowed. One RV or One tent. A separate tent site will be needed if you have an RV and want to put up an additional tent.  Please book Extra Large Tent site if you would like a tent site that will accommodate more than one tent.

Nolichucky River

The Nolichucky River is a wild scenic unregulated Class 2-4 top 10 whitewater river. Any use of the river is at your own risk. Jonesborough KOA takes no responsibility. 
Jonesborough/Cherokee NF is not responsible for Acts of God.

Dog Policy

We permit friendly dogs and cats only. MAXIMUM 2 DOGS PER SITE. Dogs or cats must be on and restrained on a 6 ft or under leash at all times, unless enjoying our off leash area at the camp entrance. If your dog is not on a leash, you will be asked to leave with no refund. Pick up after pets. NO LARGE BREED DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON BUDDY SITE IF YOU ARE BOOKING ONLY ONE OF THE BUDDY SITES.

Weekends: 2 Night Minimum
Holidays: Riverfront and Patio Sites 4 Night Minimum
                Off River 3 Night Minimum
Bristol September Race: 3 Night Minimum
Storytelling/Apple Festival 1st Weekend in Oct: Riverfront and Patio Sites 4 Night Minimum

Tent Policy

Our tent sites will accommodate ONE tent. Our Extra Large Tent Site has plenty of space for additional tents. The Extra Large Tent site allows a maximum of 8 people. (Extra Person Charge applies)

Disconnect/Towing

All of our sites may require you to disconnect.

Quiet Hours

Please observe our quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am EST.

Laundry Facilities

Laundry Facilities are located at the main bath house. The machines are coin operated and quarter exchange is available at the store. Cash only for quarters, we can not charge.

Firewood Policy

NO DEAD FALL WOOD. Firewood is for sale at the camp general store. We are happy to deliver wood to your site. Outside wood is only allowed if it is heat certified due to the Emerald Ash Borer Quarantine.

Trash

The dumpsters are located at the campground entrance on the other side of the American flag. All trash is self service.

Fire Pit Policy

Please only put wood into your fire ring, no trash or cigarette butts. Please refrain from putting food scraps into fire ring as we are in Cherokee National Forest and do not want to attract wildlife. Wood must not hang over the rim of the fire ring due to forest regulations.

Metal Detecting Not Permitted

Sorry, as much as we love metal detecting ourselves, it is not permitted at Jonesborough KOA.
