The staff is terrific. The restroom/ shower room was the nicest I have seen at a KOA. Carmelita did a fantastic job cleaning. Sue was very friendly and helpful. Taylor is a lovely young lady—very helpful and pleasant. And the owner is also very sweet.

If you are looking for large rustic parking areas with 50amp/water/sewer under large trees then this is your spot. Super friendly and accommodating staff and to top it off its an Animal Sanctuary for goats and miniature donkeys! Close to town. Nice gift shop. Nice enclosed dog park. We would stop here again anytime!

Gunnison KOA was very nice. Great store. Clean facilities. Easy to get around campground. Donkeys and goats were friendly. Be prepared for a little bit of livestock poop but not really a problem.

Beautiful property with wide spaces for RV's. Lots of shade trees. Staff on site 7 days a week. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean and well kept. There is a game room for kids. Close to town, but far enough away that it is quiet.

A well kept campground. Beautiful grassed campsite with clean bathroom. Convenient location to activities in Gunnison and not far from Crested Butte.

The campground was wonderful. More spacious than most campgrounds. The facilities were always clean. We enjoyed seeing the animals around the campground and watching the fall colors.

They were super friendly and helpful. Our rig developed a mechanical problem and they helped us find a mechanic and were flexible about our need to stay longer. Plus the miniature donkeys are fun.

Traveling through the area and decided to stay here last minute. Not only did they get us a great spot, the campground was nice and clean and convenient. Lived the goats and donkeys roaming around as well!

We come every year for a WCU wrestling event! We have always stayed in the little lodges but this time brought our camper! Clean! Quiet! Love the donkeys, pigs, goats and roamers! Best campground around! Very relaxing! See you next year!

They are very accommodating and helpful. Facilities are dated but clean and well cared for. Donkeys and goats wander the campsites which adds to the charm. End of September the aspens are stunning!

Terrific spot in a bucolic setting!! Fall leaves & trees were beautiful. So nice to have green grass vs gravel. This was a nice surprise for us as most "Journey" sites are pretty minimal. The farm animals and petting zoo were a kick!! The proprietors were friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

As always it was an excellent experience. The grounds are fantastic and the people are the best. Fall in Gunnison is the best time of year.

If I had one improvement to suggest, it would be to ask visitors not to fly flags, wear hats, etc., that are political in nature. We had to camp right next to two flaming Trumpers and we cringed the whole time.

Campground is well maintained. Bathrooms very clean. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because there is not a "pathway" to the dog park. Since there is no pathway to the dog park, numerous people cut through the "direct path" to the dog park, which happened to be right by our camper (#42). We had people all hours walking right next to our camper. We are animal lovers, but it was a bit much.

We asked to move sites bc our site had to of bugs bc of the sitting water. Then our second site was full of animal poop. The sites near the house probably shouldn't be sites. The ones on the other side looked great w the aspens

Nice KOA. Donkeys & goats roaming was fun. Site miserable, would hesitate to go back. When booked informed it was "buddy site", meaning our RV would face the door of RV next to it. Owner talked me into site saying site was long and otherwise nice under trees. Only about 6ft left between our RV and other RV- they had staked out rest with pet fence. Very uncomfortable, owner replied- you booked it.

A well kept, beautiful KOA. Bathrooms are super clean. Fun to have the friendly animals on site. Location is close to everything in Gunnison. Staff super helpful and friendly.

Great campground with mountain views and peaceful, quiet setting. Staff was very friendly/helpful. Bathrooms were extremely clean/fresh. Would recommend to friends/family Only suggestion would be for longer store hours We will visit again !

W had a great stay at the gunnison koa. We loved all the nice grass and the trees changing colors were so pretty. My 2 sons couldn't get enough pets in with the donkeys and the goats. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Thanks for everything and we will definitely be back next year!!

Awesome park with donkeys and goats! They were adorable and added an unexpected surprise staying here. Great location for things to do. An hour to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and 30 minutes to the cute downtown of Crested Butte. The Asian restaurant in Crested Butte was fabulous and reasonably priced. Showers at the park were very clean with hot water. We highly recommend!!

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
