Nice property, friendly staff, easy to maneuver/set-up. Recommend a sprinkler reduction re: spongy-muddy ground in spots (we've lived in Colorado 40+ years and regretfully still witness over-watering during years-long drought). Very large aircraft practicing daytime landings-takeoffs from adjacent airport made conversation difficult at times. Location is close to town for supplies.

Stayed 7/16 and 7/17. Nice to see all the animals and the herd has increased. However, the stagnant pond is a giant mosquito breeding ground. It was hard to be outside after dusk w/o being eating alive. Also, the game room was not in good shape or usable.

Everything about it was fantastic! Dave and Susie and all of the staff were exceptional. The spots were large and clean. Our kids loved the animals roaming the grounds. We will definitely be back!

Stayed a week and location was perfect to spend time in Gunnison and Crested Butte. Site 76 was long and campers were in a row. Bathrooms were clean till the weekend, it was hard for them to keep up which is sad that the visitors do that. Donkeys were fun to see and visit with, but always scared me in middle of night potty breaks �

We LOVE it here. We just visited for the 6th time. The grounds are well kept, bathroom clean , animals are a Joy! If you need anything they are so kind to help!

The good..fairly level, good power & water. Convenient to town, lots to do in the area. The bad...Each picnic table within 6 feet of neighbor's power pedistal and sewer connection, so smells are abundant. Dog park is a joke.... very far from RV sites, down a dirt road and completely overgrown. The ugly...donkey & goat poop all through the campground and by our picnic table! Very disgusting!

Dave and the crew were great and very accommodating. The animals are a huge plus making the stay even more enjoyable. This is a can’t miss KOA and a great location.

My husband looked up in time to see the burros chomping into my oxalis. Ha! I'm surprised they liked the taste. No harm done--they'll grow back. We appreciate how well groomed you keep everything.

It is an ok KOA that tries hard but was just ok. We didn't realize it was 45 mins from Crested Butte, our destination for a few days.

This was one of the most enjoyable campgrounds I have stayed at. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the grounds and location were very nice.

Staff are friendly and responsive to requests but the goats and donkeys, although cute, were a bit of an annoyance to me given they leaving piles of poop.

Fantastic! This is a lovely campground. Our site was huge and shaded. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The added bonus is the miniature donkeys and the goats. All are free-roaming and dog friendly. You'll love it there!

Excellent campground, very friendly staff and a great location. Large grassy sites are very clean well maintained. I highly recommend staying at the Gunnison KOA.

I really liked that there was wild life and I got to see some air balloons from the campsite which was awesome. So happy there was restrooms and showers but they could have used a clean as there was hair all over the shower and blood on one of the toilet seats and one out of order. Generally it was a great stay for the night!

Would be a 5 but having to share water and electrical pedestals was different. Luckly I had a splitter for the water. The roaming goats and donkeys was great for the grandkids. The grounds were well kept and the dirt roads watered to keep dust down.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. It’s clean and welcoming. Everyone is friendly, even the farm animals. It’s conveniently located to the town of Gunnison, Blue Mesa Reservoir, the town of Crested Butte, Taylor Reservoir. The Gunnison River Park is an easy walk from the campground. The spaces are nice. The grassy areas are beautiful. A lot of TLC goes into the care of the grounds.

We absolutely love spending our summers at the Gunnison KOA. We feel so at home here and love the large campsites. We also love the donkeys, goats and occasional pigs that wander around! Dave and Susie are the best and very accommodating! Thank you!!!!!

Excellent campground! Lots of green grass and spacious sites. The staff is very accommodating if you need help with anything. I highly recommend this campground if you’re in the area!

Spacious sites, very quiet, fun donkey's and goats roaming around interacting with guests. The grass spaces were a plus too, very well maintained and no animal poop in sight! All the staff were very helpful and friendly....and answered immediately to our site when we needed help. Thanks Dave, Susie, Sue and the rest of the staff for making this such an enjoyable stay!

We were in double wide site, which gave us plenty of room. The grass was wonderful, the donkeys, pony and goats entertaining. Very nice and helpful staff. Easy access to town. Would recommend.

While the goats, donkeys and horses wandering the campground may appeal to families and city folk, it is not relaxing for those of us already familiar with farm animals to clean the scat from our campsite just to walk around. Location is great and the staff works very hard.

Nice quiet park. Very well kept. Love the grassy parking spots and the free roaming goats and donkey. The hosts were very friendly.

I never met Susie but she was helpful in arranging the stay. Dave was SO very helpful getting me set up. Cannot take a hot shower, tepid at best. Burros got into my food and pooped in my site, interesting touch, but are pests roaming free.

We were very thankful for the owners and all he did in helping us move our tow dolly and just overall friendly and happy. We will definitely be back. The grass is beautiful. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. The donkeys, horses and goats are incredible. We apprecieated everything and will be back! Recommend this KOA highly. Best ever! Wayne and Tami Latka

Our stay at the KOA in Gunnison was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to help us out when we had some issues with our vehicle. They helped make a stressful travel day into a wonderful family camping trip filled with great memories. We will absolutely be back next summer and probably for years to come. Thank you!!

Love it and the staff was very helpful. We didn’t have the right 50 to 30 amp converter and they came out at 10pm to bring us one. Thank you! Oh! And the donkeys were pretty awesome too!

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
