The camp ground and the staff was great! The bathrooms and showers are a minus they need to be reworked what a pain in the a.. when the pet gets a shower��� need signs no pets in the bathrooms I would stay there one more time If you use your camper bathroom and shower not a problem

We went to Gunnison for a vacation from retirement. We are older, 76, and just wanted a quiet place to relax and be away from home. The grounds were very well maintained. Our site was large well-manicured. It was an enjoyable stay and will probably do it again next year.

Very nice park, close to town, and friendly staff. If you have kids there are donkeys, goats and horses that roam the grounds intermittently. Laundry facility and bathrooms were clean and well laid out. I normally don’t stay at KOA, because they are slightly pricier than many places, but in this particular case I don’t think you could do much better if you want to stay right next to town.

What’s not to like! Beautiful location. Dave and staff keep the grounds clean and mowed. Restrooms and showers are cleaned daily and kept clean throughout the day. Very accommodating. Highly recommend staying at Gunnison KOA!

Best KOA on this trip. Excellent! KOA need to be reviewed because the ones we were at so far are not up to standards. One we are in at Montrose needs reviewing. Gunnison bathrooms were spotless as well as maintaining in campground.

Lovely grass sites. Barnyard animals roaming the campground and leaving droppings, and getting into anything and everything that you might leave outside.

The place is dirty. There was a rodent that ran by us in the office/store! The outside dishwashing area was gross and they don’t pick up after the animals so there is poop everywhere when you walk near the office. Also, the tent sights are pretty tight!

Would stay there again, friendly staff, green grass, close to all the things to do in the Gunnison area, not far from Blue Mesa Reservoir. Pro tip: the outlying sites have the most room between the rigs, have your awning point east so you get the most shade in the summer. We were there for a month, Wi-Fi was A+. Spot 26 is the one we liked very much.

Great campground. The location was close to everything and allowed us to travel and experience different parts of this area. The airport was close but it wasn’t a problem. The donkeys were a big hit - loved seeing them wandering around the park. The team here does a great job w the grass. Our dog enjoyed the grass compared to the gravel at other campgrounds. We will be back!

Staff was friendly and welcoming. Layout of the campsites was unusual, but worked well. My wife was concerned the showers had no code access locks.

We travel extensively from coast to coast and frequently stay at KOA‘s whenever possible. Gunnison KOA is by far one of the best managed most beautiful KOA we’ve stayed. The entire facility is like a beautiful park, grass everywhere, including where you park - absolutely no need for a rug. We would recommend this KOA to anybody traveling in that direction.

Overall a good one night stay. We opted for the least expensive option so we were in a pasture. We enjoyed relaxing outside. The bathrooms were ok. Countertop in ladies restroom could use a good cleaning. Toilets were clean. Lots of flies in restroom due to the animals. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a good stay.

Bathrooms really should be updated. Toilet seats look very old and the showers are difficult with temperature settings. Otherwise we liked it a lot.

Nice doublewide grass site, fairly level, with good water pressure and electricity. The burros and other animals were a treat to have around. The primary reason for the average rating was the Men's shower house. Only one of three showers were working with hot water and strong pressure. One had been "fixed" and the hot water was very hard to adjust and very low pressure, the other cold water only.

We love the Gummison KOA. Dave and Susie, Sue, Sara, Diane, John are the greatest people. They're friendly, helpful and will go the extra mile to make sure the entire campground is a fun, peaceful, and friendly place to stay. We love all the animals that roam around making friends. The sites are all grass, which is so unusual for a campground. We always come back to Gunnison and love staying

I didn't have a good spot. No shade, very close. Some of the spots are very large and shaded. Appreciated all the green grass.

Well-maintained, it’s a kid’s ( or a kid at heart) paradise. Roaming donkeys, ponies, goats who love your pats and your carrots. Spacious, grassy, tree-filled grounds with lots of pet centric areas. Nice store for essentials and ice cream. What’s not to like? Well, sometimes there’s donkey poop, but it’s quickly scooped away by attentive managers. We would visit again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful double space back in. Lots of grass and free-roaming donkeys. The droppings are quickly cleared away. Unfortunately, the WiFi was very poor and the toilet seats urgently need replacing.

The staff were great, the KOA site is great. Well taken care of and the Donkeys, goats and cow are just so cool. This place would be a 5 star across the board if it wasn’t for the dumb airport right next door. Hearing the planes take off (very very loud) at 6:30 am takes away from the wonderful site. Nothing they can do about it; but just my 2cents and an FYI for future campers

What an experience to have all the animals roaming around. The donkeys and goats came right into the camp sites and grazed around. They weren't annoyingly so, just fun. It was very clean, showers nice, the grass was a plus and the owners were supper nice. Highly recommend. Its not the usual camp ground.

Nice setting. Very little air traffic at the adjacent airport. Mostly well kept, large sites. Trees need to be trimmed to accommodate 13' RVs. We scrapped and broke branches both entering and departing. Limbs still on roof. NO hot water in men's shower and very little water pressure in bath/shower house. Water pressure at site varied from 10 to 40 psi.

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
