Friendly staff, clean grounds. 2 problems with men's shower controls (no idea about women's showers) - Staff aware of these issues - (a) 2 of 3 controls ran backwards. (b) 1 control/head dripped continuously (stated they would have to turn the water off to the entire campground to fix problems). Solution - install shut off for just the bathrooms/showers. Otherwise would give higher rating.

Very quiet and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great location for sightseeing and hiking. Definitely will come back and stay again.

Clean and well maintained property. Burros and goats were fun to watch and pet as they walked around the property. Pleasant staff. Good location for exploring the Gunnison and Crested Butte area.

Very nicely kept park. Very clean. Pads are level, dry, roads maintained. Grass between sites with nice spacing. Nice shade trees on a lot of sites.

This park was amazing. We will definitely come back. We were there for 8 days and I didn't want to leave. Only con I would have (and its not a deal breaker) is it would be nice if they could do a pool. I loved the donkeys roaming the park. The staff were ALWAYS maintaining the grounds and were very friendly. Thank you Gunnison KOA.

This was year 4 at Gunnison KOA Journey. We parked in an extra wide spot shaded by a large cottonwood tree.The park is well kept with regular mowing & trimming, the grass is watered by the owner (Dave) with an old fire truck and the gravel roads are watered multiple times during the day to control dust. Donkeys and a miniature horse freely roam the park, entertaining children. We'll be back again

Beautiful campground and very friendly staff. Our site backed up to a pasture and was perfect! I loved the donkeys that would roam thru the campground. The owners do a great job taking care of the grass and their customers.

Lots of grass that is very well maintained, from mowing to watering. Plus the water truck that keeps the dust down. Bathrooms are always clean and spacious. The staff are always smiling and friendly. All sights are not on top of each other, lots of space between.

The grass looks like the Augusta, golf course, the donkeys and goats wandering about were a welcome site. The owner was a truly interesting fellow. Loved the whole place and will be back.

Beautiful setting on a well maintained site. Easy to get in and out, and very quiet at night. Staff was always friendly and accommodating. A hidden Gem for sure! Can't wait to come back.

Very clean campground. Friendly staff. Area has a lot of things to do. There was a rodeo in town as well as carnival. River rafting. Lots of other events. Enjoyed our stay. Will be back

Unique and beautiful—many animals to pet and beautiful green grass to park on. It’s a restful, soothing place to be. Dave and Susie Taylor are wonderful hosts.

Great Park! Dave and his crew do a terrific job with this KOA. Clean, efficient and with lots of real, green grass! Near all the action. This was our second, extended stay visit and like MacArthur said: "We shall return". ~Stan (aka: The Dogfather)

We enjoyed staying at Gunnison KOA. By far our best KOA stay. RV site 9 was awesome. The shade and space was a big plus. Thank you so much for making our stay such an enjoyable one.

It makes a difference when the owners are on site to manage and look over everything. There was green grass everywhere in 90 degree heat. They start b-4 8 and I have no idea what time they end. There are 2 parts of this site that are beyond awesome - 1) internet is fantastic and 2) if you have kiddo's buy a bag of carrots (25 cents) to feed the animals!!!

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
