This KOA is probably much nicer than other Campgrounds anywhere in the area. It is a different experience though. Beautiful watered and mowed grass and trees make it attractive. Most sites are spacious, although some are strangely arranged and make neighbors share the space between them. Goats and donkeys roam the grounds but don’t bother guests. Facilities are nice and clean.

The campground is green and lush. We had a tent site the was great just across from the sweet miniature donkeys their and their goat friend made the stay better. The hosts were also wonderful and very helpful. Thank you for a great stay.

Outside of the fact that we did not see the Black Canyon because of the road closures, it was great. KOA was awesome! They have sweet animals grazing. It was quiet and the people who work there are super friendly.

It was absolutely wonderful. The campground was gorgeous, like being on a golf course. The staff was very friendly and we loved the animals.

Had to go very out of the way to even get to the campsite. This needs to be advertised better. Timers on the showers. Clean and well maintained but unimpressed overall. Not worth the price of $77 a night.

Fun, fun, fun. Great location very close to Gunnison River. Rafting, kayaking, fishing. Easy access to Curecanti recreation area. Also Lake City, Creede and Crested Butte. We’ll be back soon.

Great stay! Peaceful spot with plenty of room. Loved the burros roaming free. We really enjoyed a peaceful few days in Gunnison. We will be back!

Nice location, enjoyed the donkeys walking around site. Apparently the sites were meant to pull thru, then pull car around to front. Nobody told us that, until mower came up after we were set up. Friendly staff, warm bathrooms in the morning!

Terrific campground, loved the free range Donkeys and Goats. Nice spacing between the sites to your neighbors are not to close. Wonderful grass across the whole site.

Perfect location. The campground is a little dated but was perfectly adequate. We've stayed here many times in the past. Very nice staff. Sites are spacious.

Beautiful site during fall season. Donkey droppings were a bit off putting especially with dogs that don't watch where they step.

Our favorite KOA for getaways! This campground checks all the boxes for us and our two fur babies. It's consistently clean, quiet and safe along with friendly and helpful owners and staff. Our dogs love the large dog park and the grassy and tree-covered camping sites. An extra bonus...the sweet donkeys who are the welcoming committee! We would rate 10+ stars if possible!

There was no grass for our site. It was taken by campers on either side of us. Camper to right of us left led light on side of their camper on all night. Shined into ours.

We visited in the Fall-the leaves were turning; it was beautiful! The campground is quiet-not on the main road. There are farm animals to visit with during your stay.

Very quiet and well maintained… with clean bathroom/showers! Sites are a little tight. Always prefer sites near river or lake…none here.

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
