This is such a cute KOA with the animals wandering the site. Our kids love staying here. We will likely be back next year.

We had a great stay at the Gunnison KOA. We stayed in a little A-frame but it was perfect for what we needed. We used the public bathrooms since our place didn’t have any, and the bathrooms were very clean which is amazing! This area is beautiful, people are friendly, and there were even farm animals on site!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The mens' bathhouse was well maintained. I like the concept of the A-frame cabin. It was a step up from my tent trailer during rainy days. A few more hooks in there would have been helpful. My biggest complaint was the muddy drive leading to the cabins. An improved walkway to the bathhouse would be nice.

Loved the goats and ponies. My sister named the calf Bessie. We stayed in a cabin and it was perfect for my sister, me and my collie dog. Beautifully situated under trees.

We stayed in the Kottage. It was clean and so convenient. The campground is well maintained and we love the animals.

We stayed three nights in one of the A-frame cabins. The campground was close to everything, quiet at night, and had all the features we needed. The showers were great (nice hot water), the restrooms were clean, the host was helpful and friendly. The lawns were especially impressive. We also enjoyed interacting with the resident ponies, goats, and donkeys.

The cabin we had was very un-comfortable, not for elderly with handy cap issues, otherwise as for the Gunnison KOA, it is a great campground. We normally stay with our RV, but it was in the shop back home, so changed from RV site we had reserved to cabin for trip. We will not do that again if that is the situation in the future unless cabin with facilities is available.

Stayed in A-Frame cabin. Had to travel down a rut filled road full of mud. The A-Frame was dirty and way over priced for such a small unit. The area was nice but there was an airport across the street from the KOA with jets taking off. We won't be back.

Great stay as usual. Clean bathrooms, polite staff. A frames fit the bill when not wanting to tent camp and want electric. Is close to an airport but a google map search shows that and is not noisy at night.

We loved the small, family atmosphere of the Gunnison KOA. The mini donkeys were a joy to have around!

This was my second time staying at this KOA, such a great overall experience! I stayed in one of the cabins. The location is great for day adventures to Crested Butte, and Black canyon. My favorite part of this KOA are the goats and donkeys walking free throughout the campground! So friendly and fun to watch!

Cabin was clean but bathrooms were very dirty, some toilets were wobbly and was full of flies. Was given cabin next to tent sites where guests put up tent right up to cabin so we lost some privacy and space for kids to play.

The staff were very friendly and the kids seemed to love the farm animals that were on the property. We did not enjoy our cabin due to the distance from bathroom and overall appearance and view from that part of the property. If someone has a tent or RV this is a great place to stay.

Nice KOA located just outside of town, easy access to markets and restaurants. Cabin was clean and comfortable as well as the bathroom and showers. I wasn’t a fan of the wandering donkeys and goats as you had to watch your step as you walked around and I’m a country girl. Would stay again if I’m in the area.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. Only thing I would change would be the animals roaming around and pooping everywhere. The goats are a bit too pushy, interrupting our marshmallow roast. Our cabin was clean and well stocked for cooking.

Great grassy area for the dogs, cabin was in a nice shades area, goats and donkeys roaming the area was unique, nice play area for the kids.

It was great. Loved my place. All the animals around and with that, how clean it was. Everyone was having a good time. I can see that you all really take care of the place. I will for sure stay there again. If I can get in as it will always be full if you keep this up. Thanks!!

I enjoyed the stay. Not sure what’s going on with the junkie vehicles and camper that’s hooked up to water. Looks like a homeless person’s living there. Just gives a bad vibe when you’re pulling in. Staff was very very friendly. We enjoyed the animals.

Shared a Kamper Kabin with two fellow motorcyclists who hadn't experienced KOA before. Both expressed that they enjoyed it and will likely incorporate KOA's into future motorcycle trips.

It was perfect! The camping cabins were just what we needed! The staff is very helpful and friendly, and all the farm animals add a special touch! Highly recommended if you’re in the area and need a campground.

the staff were awesome so my rating is not a reflection on them. The low rating is because: airport close by with commercial airlines taking off early in the morning. There’s a cow that constantly moos very loudly early mornings. There’s bathrooms and showers are not big enough to handle all the campers. The toilets wobble. Shower trickles water. Overall park was nice for rv's for what i seen.As for the cabin it seemed a little dusty, i had to wip off bed befor puting my bag on it. No air conditioner and i know Gunnison does get a little warm in the summer

We stayed for the weekend. We have been camping in CO for many years and this is our new favorite place to camp. The grounds are so beautiful with green grass. They have roaming goats, ponies and wild donkeys. The camp ground is close to everything. The owner is so nice. It was a great weekend, and we will be back soon.

This KOA needs updated. The bathroom facilities are horrendous. Shower curtain rods being held in place by wadded up paper towels? Over flowing trash? Toilets that move when sitting on them? I am guessing kids love all the animals, having donkey pee and poo in my camp daily is disgusting. I have been coming here for many many years, but this facility has gone too far down hill to come back.

You get to a point in life where you don't care who's mad, why they're mad, and who they are recruiting to be mad with them. It's peaceful and happy at the Gunnison KOA

I love staying here. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The people I spoke to in the office were very friendly and lovely to interact with. I'll definitely be coming back!

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
