Shared a Kamper Kabin with two fellow motorcyclists who hadn't experienced KOA before. Both expressed that they enjoyed it and will likely incorporate KOA's into future motorcycle trips.

Everything about it was fantastic! Dave and Susie and all of the staff were exceptional. The spots were large and clean. Our kids loved the animals roaming the grounds. We will definitely be back!

Stayed a week and location was perfect to spend time in Gunnison and Crested Butte. Site 76 was long and campers were in a row. Bathrooms were clean till the weekend, it was hard for them to keep up which is sad that the visitors do that. Donkeys were fun to see and visit with, but always scared me in middle of night potty breaks �

We LOVE it here. We just visited for the 6th time. The grounds are well kept, bathroom clean , animals are a Joy! If you need anything they are so kind to help!

Our stay was great! My partner and I stayed at one of the covered mulch tent sites. We loved the A frame cover; it was very nice to keep the tent cool in the hot sun. We also loved all of the free roaming animals on site. This was so unique and an awesome experience getting to camp amongst all of the donkeys and goats. One minor suggestion I have is to have closer bathroom to the mulch tent sites

The good..fairly level, good power & water. Convenient to town, lots to do in the area. The bad...Each picnic table within 6 feet of neighbor's power pedistal and sewer connection, so smells are abundant. Dog park is a joke.... very far from RV sites, down a dirt road and completely overgrown. The ugly...donkey & goat poop all through the campground and by our picnic table! Very disgusting!

Dave and the crew were great and very accommodating. The animals are a huge plus making the stay even more enjoyable. This is a can’t miss KOA and a great location.

The campsite was clean and well laid out. It was a bit of a walk to get to the main building for the restroom and laundry. The staff were friendly and helpful, and were knowledgeable about places to go around town and beyond.

My husband looked up in time to see the burros chomping into my oxalis. Ha! I'm surprised they liked the taste. No harm done--they'll grow back. We appreciate how well groomed you keep everything.

It is an ok KOA that tries hard but was just ok. We didn't realize it was 45 mins from Crested Butte, our destination for a few days.

This was one of the most enjoyable campgrounds I have stayed at. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the grounds and location were very nice.

Staff are friendly and responsive to requests but the goats and donkeys, although cute, were a bit of an annoyance to me given they leaving piles of poop.

We initially booked for 2 days but ended up extending to 4. The staff was very kind and accommodating, even letting us move sites early. We loved the animals, but would have appreciated the donkey poop being cleaned up from our campsite. I was also concerned about the condition of the donkeys’ hooves. They were in desperate need of a visit from the farrier. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

It was perfect! The camping cabins were just what we needed! The staff is very helpful and friendly, and all the farm animals add a special touch! Highly recommended if you’re in the area and need a campground.

Fantastic! This is a lovely campground. Our site was huge and shaded. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The added bonus is the miniature donkeys and the goats. All are free-roaming and dog friendly. You'll love it there!

Excellent campground, very friendly staff and a great location. Large grassy sites are very clean well maintained. I highly recommend staying at the Gunnison KOA.

Very noisy because of the early morning airplanes from the nearby airport, the animals (cows, donkeys, goats) and loud inconsiderate campers. Otherwise, the location is conveniently located near town, and the bathrooms with showers were great. The animals are cute and friendly too.

Lousy , awful. The tent site was not clearly marked for a night arrival even with a marked map it was difficult to find. The tent site was so close to the neighboring site that I could hear them talking and cussing and yelling at their dog way into the night. the spot top put tent was very uncomfortable wood chips. other neighbors were loud playing games at least past 2am. NO PICNIC TABLE??

I really liked that there was wild life and I got to see some air balloons from the campsite which was awesome. So happy there was restrooms and showers but they could have used a clean as there was hair all over the shower and blood on one of the toilet seats and one out of order. Generally it was a great stay for the night!

Online reservation was quick and easy. I got in late but they made it easy to find my info. The bathrooms were immaculate. When I left early I was surprised to see the cutest goats and ponys! I have never felt safer while camping.

the staff were awesome so my rating is not a reflection on them. The low rating is because: airport close by with commercial airlines taking off early in the morning. There’s a cow that constantly moos very loudly early mornings. There’s bathrooms and showers are not big enough to handle all the campers. The toilets wobble. Shower trickles water. Would be a 5 but having to share water and electrical pedestals was different. Luckly I had a splitter for the water. The roaming goats and donkeys was great for the grandkids. The grounds were well kept and the dirt roads watered to keep dust down.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. It’s clean and welcoming. Everyone is friendly, even the farm animals. It’s conveniently located to the town of Gunnison, Blue Mesa Reservoir, the town of Crested Butte, Taylor Reservoir. The Gunnison River Park is an easy walk from the campground. The spaces are nice. The grassy areas are beautiful. A lot of TLC goes into the care of the grounds.

We absolutely love spending our summers at the Gunnison KOA. We feel so at home here and love the large campsites. We also love the donkeys, goats and occasional pigs that wander around! Dave and Susie are the best and very accommodating! Thank you!!!!!

Excellent campground! Lots of green grass and spacious sites. The staff is very accommodating if you need help with anything. I highly recommend this campground if you’re in the area!

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
