This was my second time staying at this KOA, such a great overall experience! I stayed in one of the cabins. The location is great for day adventures to Crested Butte, and Black canyon. My favorite part of this KOA are the goats and donkeys walking free throughout the campground! So friendly and fun to watch!

very nice spaces. large area with grass and gravel. The roaming donkeys, goats, little cow and horse was a plus. Camp staff was very friendly and helpful. Thank you.

Bathrooms really should be updated. Toilet seats look very old and the showers are difficult with temperature settings. Otherwise we liked it a lot.

Nice doublewide grass site, fairly level, with good water pressure and electricity. The burros and other animals were a treat to have around. The primary reason for the average rating was the Men's shower house. Only one of three showers were working with hot water and strong pressure. One had been "fixed" and the hot water was very hard to adjust and very low pressure, the other cold water only.

We love the Gummison KOA. Dave and Susie, Sue, Sara, Diane, John are the greatest people. They're friendly, helpful and will go the extra mile to make sure the entire campground is a fun, peaceful, and friendly place to stay. We love all the animals that roam around making friends. The sites are all grass, which is so unusual for a campground. We always come back to Gunnison and love staying

I didn't have a good spot. No shade, very close. Some of the spots are very large and shaded. Appreciated all the green grass.

Well-maintained, it’s a kid’s ( or a kid at heart) paradise. Roaming donkeys, ponies, goats who love your pats and your carrots. Spacious, grassy, tree-filled grounds with lots of pet centric areas. Nice store for essentials and ice cream. What’s not to like? Well, sometimes there’s donkey poop, but it’s quickly scooped away by attentive managers. We would visit again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful double space back in. Lots of grass and free-roaming donkeys. The droppings are quickly cleared away. Unfortunately, the WiFi was very poor and the toilet seats urgently need replacing.

The staff were great, the KOA site is great. Well taken care of and the Donkeys, goats and cow are just so cool. This place would be a 5 star across the board if it wasn’t for the dumb airport right next door. Hearing the planes take off (very very loud) at 6:30 am takes away from the wonderful site. Nothing they can do about it; but just my 2cents and an FYI for future campers

What an experience to have all the animals roaming around. The donkeys and goats came right into the camp sites and grazed around. They weren't annoyingly so, just fun. It was very clean, showers nice, the grass was a plus and the owners were supper nice. Highly recommend. Its not the usual camp ground.

Nice setting. Very little air traffic at the adjacent airport. Mostly well kept, large sites. Trees need to be trimmed to accommodate 13' RVs. We scrapped and broke branches both entering and departing. Limbs still on roof. NO hot water in men's shower and very little water pressure in bath/shower house. Water pressure at site varied from 10 to 40 psi.

Nice, but not quite as nice as it used to be. Staff were lovely and the roaming animals are big fun. The bathroom was OK, but not as pristine as in years past. Lots of mold in shower and exposed piping, overflowing trash bin and one empty soap dispenser.

Cabin was clean but bathrooms were very dirty, some toilets were wobbly and was full of flies. Was given cabin next to tent sites where guests put up tent right up to cabin so we lost some privacy and space for kids to play.

KOA is great! The staff was friendly. I'd come back, BUT, I hope I could put in a specific request for site next time. I would like to request to NOT be placed on site 12. This apparently is the "cut through" site. I guess since it sits on the bend in the road between loops, it's ok for guests, and employees as well to cut right through. YES, employees too-on golf carts! Ruined our outdoor time.

Such a beautiful campground. Grass sites and clean restrooms. The campsite is close to town and the river for fly fishing or rafting. Thirty minutes to Crested Butte. The staff is friendly and helpful and the cute friendly animals are a bonus.

Love the KOA of Gunnison. Dave and all his workers keep the place very clean and mowed. The restrooms are extremely clean and kept clean throughout the day. If you have an issue talk to Dave he will help in anyway. A must stay campground!

The campground is very family friendly! There are donkeys and goats roaming the campsites, which is very cute, but they do tend to poo wherever they want. I will say there is someone cleaning it up. The other thing to mention is the gunnison airport is right across the street! It's a small regional one but it definitely gets your attention when the jets take off and land. Staff are great.

The staff were very friendly and the kids seemed to love the farm animals that were on the property. We did not enjoy our cabin due to the distance from bathroom and overall appearance and view from that part of the property. If someone has a tent or RV this is a great place to stay.

Fantastic place! we loved the grassy areas, the trees, the donkeys and the goats! also quiet areas were respected and we had great sleep. Only thing that could be improved, in my opinion, is the cleanliness of bathroom/showers; maybe they need cleaning throghout the day? Or have signs for people not to make a mess? Thank you for running a great campground!

Love the park and love the Donkeys and Goats. I got ill this year and had to be hospitalized, the day before we were suppose to leave. They were great with my husband and let us stay longer until I got out of the hospital. They were very good to my husband. Grade A treatment from the owners and staff. Much thanks.

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
