Nice campground and everything works. Nice people. Our problem was the “cute” donkeys, goats and cows wandering and pooping in our site. If course this created a fly problem. We had to shovel poop and swat flys a lot.

Very nice people, and sites are level and open. We saw before we left that it had goats that are free range so we should have expected it. But as a warning if you have dogs that tend to graze, the goat poop is very prevalent. The dog park does not have a lot of grass, so if there is rain it can be messy. Our dogs would bark at the donkeys as they came thru our campground.

Have stayed stayed at the Gunnison KOA DOZENS of times. Always loved it. The cranky 90 year old lady that drove around in the golf cart yelling about everything (telling to what the speed limit was when I was literally coasting out). Kicking my daughters (who had $50 to spend) out of the store for “touching everything” and being an overall RUDE MEAN OLD LADY truly is a bad look for a great pla

Really enjoyed the Gunnison KOA. Restrooms were clean, campsite was clean, and the animals were a huge hit with my children (ages 9 and 6). The location is a great base for recreational activities in the area. We explored Curecanti National Recreation Area, Gunnison, and Crested Butte over our 3 night stay. Enjoyed the outdoor games area and adored the animals. Will be back soon!

Stayed in A-Frame cabin. Had to travel down a rut filled road full of mud. The A-Frame was dirty and way over priced for such a small unit. The area was nice but there was an airport across the street from the KOA with jets taking off. We won't be back.

The camp ground and the staff was great! The bathrooms and showers are a minus they need to be reworked what a pain in the a.. when the pet gets a shower��� need signs no pets in the bathrooms I would stay there one more time If you use your camper bathroom and shower not a problem

Great stay as usual. Clean bathrooms, polite staff. A frames fit the bill when not wanting to tent camp and want electric. Is close to an airport but a google map search shows that and is not noisy at night.

Good facilities for camping, especially the individual shelter roofs nearby the tends. In walk distance to Gunnison and services. A little loud when aircrafts starts and lands.

We went to Gunnison for a vacation from retirement. We are older, 76, and just wanted a quiet place to relax and be away from home. The grounds were very well maintained. Our site was large well-manicured. It was an enjoyable stay and will probably do it again next year.

Very nice park, close to town, and friendly staff. If you have kids there are donkeys, goats and horses that roam the grounds intermittently. Laundry facility and bathrooms were clean and well laid out. I normally don’t stay at KOA, because they are slightly pricier than many places, but in this particular case I don’t think you could do much better if you want to stay right next to town.

What’s not to like! Beautiful location. Dave and staff keep the grounds clean and mowed. Restrooms and showers are cleaned daily and kept clean throughout the day. Very accommodating. Highly recommend staying at Gunnison KOA!

Best KOA on this trip. Excellent! KOA need to be reviewed because the ones we were at so far are not up to standards. One we are in at Montrose needs reviewing. Gunnison bathrooms were spotless as well as maintaining in campground.

Lovely grass sites. Barnyard animals roaming the campground and leaving droppings, and getting into anything and everything that you might leave outside.

The place is dirty. There was a rodent that ran by us in the office/store! The outside dishwashing area was gross and they don’t pick up after the animals so there is poop everywhere when you walk near the office. Also, the tent sights are pretty tight!

Would stay there again, friendly staff, green grass, close to all the things to do in the Gunnison area, not far from Blue Mesa Reservoir. Pro tip: the outlying sites have the most room between the rigs, have your awning point east so you get the most shade in the summer. We were there for a month, Wi-Fi was A+. Spot 26 is the one we liked very much.

Great campground. The location was close to everything and allowed us to travel and experience different parts of this area. The airport was close but it wasn’t a problem. The donkeys were a big hit - loved seeing them wandering around the park. The team here does a great job w the grass. Our dog enjoyed the grass compared to the gravel at other campgrounds. We will be back!

Staff was friendly and welcoming. Layout of the campsites was unusual, but worked well. My wife was concerned the showers had no code access locks.

We travel extensively from coast to coast and frequently stay at KOA‘s whenever possible. Gunnison KOA is by far one of the best managed most beautiful KOA we’ve stayed. The entire facility is like a beautiful park, grass everywhere, including where you park - absolutely no need for a rug. We would recommend this KOA to anybody traveling in that direction.

Overall a good one night stay. We opted for the least expensive option so we were in a pasture. We enjoyed relaxing outside. The bathrooms were ok. Countertop in ladies restroom could use a good cleaning. Toilets were clean. Lots of flies in restroom due to the animals. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a good stay.

Tent camped here on 6/21/2025 & 6/22/2025. The restroom & shower facilities were very clean. The owners were extremely nice people. They also gave us details on places to eat dinner (5 B's BBQ & Ol' Miner Steakhouse). The animals roaming around are so cool. The owner does his best to clean up after them and he is always willingly to stop and talk.
