Campground Reviews

Basic KOA, but well off the interstate which meant there was little road noise. We were only there overnight, but because of convenience, we would definitely stay again.

2nd time staying here and is one of our overnight favorites. Short drive from I95 but you don’t hear the highway. Clean and well maintained.

We only stayed one night on our way to Florida. We are truck issues and had to change our reservations twice, No issues doing that. We used their showers and they clean.

Journeys can be fun, but sometimes can be real "adventures" with little problems popping up along the way. Enfield/Rocky Mount KOA is an oasis of dependable calm and rest along the way. It's convenient, well run by a friendly staff, and everything Just works. We appreciate our trouble free stay every winter on our snowbird route to Florida.

Second time staying here. Very quiet

The site we stayed in was fine for an overnight stay. We were in and out within 12 hours. I would not have been comfortable staying in that site more than what we did because the sites were so narrow you felt like you were on top of your next door neighbor. The campground was clean and easy to navigate. We did not have a chance to use any of the amenities.

We have been staying here overnight for many years. Easy on / off from 95. This year as most years we arrived late and were surprised to see that staff was in the office after hours checking guests in.

This was a handy place to stay as we were traveling I95 S. Clean, tidy, friendly staff. Much appreciated.

We liked that there was no gate and a nice greeting. The campground is clean. Close to 95 but not noisy. Big dog park. Sites are skinnier than what we are used to but did fit our 42 ft fifth wheel with 3 slides. Just enough space between Sites for the table. We would go back and stay longer. .

Booked on line… we got there about 5:30 and found an envelope with our name on it on the door. Easy directions to a nice flat even pull through. Very clean and recently raked spot. We didn’t use the bathrooms, just power and electric. We did use the dump station. There were a few local loud cars but traffic noise was limited. Will definitely keep on our list for overnight stops.

one night stay. pull thru. quick and easy.

Arrived late hooked up water and electric fine. Toilets and showers horrendous. Looks like the toilets had not been cleaned in a long time. Faces all around the bowl and bowl brown stains as if either super old or poorly cleaned. Would not stay again

It's a great stop-over campground for me. I will travel from Baltimore, MD to a campground in SC for the Thanksgiving Holiday and it's a reallly nice campground for the overnights I need inorder to make my trip south or back north and to avoid the major traffic on 95. Folks inside are reallly nice too!

Staff was very easy to talk to and extremely accommodating! Although, it appeared that the restroom cleaning staff was off for the season…

Enfield/Rocky Mount is very nice small park conveniently located close to I-95, but far enough away to be very quiet. We arrived on Sunday when the office is closed. Operators, very thoughtfuly, provided all the important information for our stay, in an envelope. We enjoyed our stay.

Loved that was less than a mile from the highway. Not a fan of the bathrooms. It was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been clean for a few weeks.

Great location off the Hwy. Campground very clean and quiet.

Great place to stay overnight when heading down I-95. Easy hop-on, hop-off and great pull-thru sites so no need to spend a lot of time setting up once you are there.

Stayed one night. It was OK, resort needs some updating, seems a bit run down. Fine for an overnight.

Easy access, friendly staff, level sites.
Nov 28, 2024
The sites are not level. We had to get a different site just to get our rig level. The site we finally ended up in was less expensive than the one we booked. We were not given a refund for the difference in price.

Rating based on water and electric only site in front of park. Okay for overnight!

I'd say more Pro's than Con's at this Rustic KOA campground. Extremely easy on-off route 95 highway. Just 1 mile back off highway, but, you hardly hear the highway which is great. It feels very country out here nestled between swap and cotton fields. Easy check in at office with quiet but friendly guy. The property is sandy roads and huge mature pine trees. Grass was all mowed recently and there are some interesting wild flowers and cool mushrooms growing here and there. Tent camping sites were large and in nice grassy area with covered picnic tables and fire pit. They offer propane tank fills and have a dump station right beside this. The general store is quite empty, but we didn't need any supplies, so that was no problem for us. Their guest map is very nice and well designed. It surprised us that the swimming pool was still very clean and in warmer months would be very nice to relax in. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained, however they are rustic, but I have no complaints about that. The signs for the 24 laundry room are not very prominent, it's hidden around back under a staircase and beside the ice cooler. We totally missed this the first day and took our laundry into Rocky Mount downtown (which I highly recommend against! We did not feel safe at all at the 252 LaundryMat, it's in a sketchy part of town!) we would have loved to spend our money here at the campground instead. My small suggestion is: attach a sign onto the rear staircase with arrow pointing to 24 hour laundry door for guests to easy see. We saw another camper walk with laundry basket and followed her to find the 24 laundry. There is a sign on the door, but like I said when walking around the front and both sides of the building, we just didn't even notice this door tucked under the back staircase. After finding the laundry, I did check it out and am adding images here for future guests to see. Laundry was very clean and affordable. Again, wish we would have found this and spent our money here to help the campground owner. RV sites are almost all nice long pull through. Only negative is the placement of the sewer connections. The only way to hook up, places your RV steps walking right out to next RV sewer less than 3 feet in front of your RV door. This also places your picnic table real close to neighbors sewer hook up. NOTE: the campers directly in front of us when setting up and noticed this, shockingly looked at us sitting at picnic table on our site & said, “we will just use our holding tank next 2 days while ya'll here so that's not interfering with your sitting out here.” Super nice folks from Louisiana! The dog park at this KOA is excellent! They have mowed grass, covered bench to sit at while your dog plays and dog waste station with bags and trash bin. Shocker was all the very nice dog toys they provided in a milk crate inside the dog park to borrow. Our dog loves borrowing others used toys way more than any new ones we buy for him for some reason, so he was in his zoomies glory here! The cotton fields were so beautiful and cotton ready to be harvested. It surprised us that the bugs were not bad at all here. We didn't have to use any bug spray at all. The only real negative I'd say is the lack of free usage of WiFi. The map you get at check in says: 8 hours of free WiFi included. But what they do not say is: this Clock of 8 running nonstop hours starts when you connect and runs only the next 8 consecutive hours, then that's it, you are cut off. This could be frustrating for lots of unsuspecting campers. We however travel with our own Starlink connection, and just swap to that. They do offer 2 small cabins for rent and we did see some ladies renting one during our visit. There is a nice playground and we loved that it had the old school equipment we remember from being kids in the 1980's! All the playground equipment was fresh painted and in good shape. That's my full and honest opinion of camping here.
