Located in Kimberley, BC, the Kimberley Underground Mining Railway Tour gives you a unique opportunity to ride a train into the old Sullivan Mine. The underground interpretive centre and mining guide will give you an idea of how hard rock mining works, including equipment demonstrations. The train runs on weekends in May and June and 7 days a week in July and August, with departures at 11, 1, and 3.
The St Mary River flows from St Mary's Lake to Fort Steele, where it meets the Kootenay River. St Mary River is commonly used for intro rafting trips, fly fishing, and paddle sports.
A 5.9 hectare wildlife sanctuary, Elizabeth Lake is a large wetland area on the west edge of Cranbrook. This sanctuary is home to many different animal species, from western painted turtles and squirrels to permanent and migratory birds. There are walking trails and viewpoints around the lake, as well as picnic tables and benches. If you visit Elizabeth Lake in the summer, you can stop at the visitor centre and talk to our volunteers – they have great information on the local area or they can help plan your trip elsewhere in BC.

This full day of trail riding takes you up the headwaters of the St. Mary River to the famous Dewar Creek Hot Springs. Enjoy a pack horse picnic in Bugle Basin, a relaxing soak in the springs and a barbecued steak dinner upon return back in the valley at the St. Mary Lodge.
