We had our two grandchildren and the loved it. Swimming without a crowd, being respectful of the who were at the pool, using the jump mat and hiking were all great. A day trip to LuRay Caverns was high point on the trip. Nice site privacy, full hookups and plenty of space. We will stay again

This is a very nice park with nice amenities and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall was good. Utilities were fine. Disappointed in the walking path to pond and around. Path not well maintained. Pool has green algae around edge above water line all the way around. Could use a few more umbrella tables. Store/office hours should be expanded maybe from 8 - 7.

This is a smaller KOA than most. Sites are gravel and mostly level. Enough room for trailer & suburban. Clean and in a quiet area. Kinda laid back and peaceful. Our group had 3 sites.

Public restrooms were locked, no unlock code in documentation. No one collected garbage. Pool was small, old, and surrounded by chain-link fence with barbed wire.

Quiet.

We stayed for 3 nights in the middle of July and it was very nice. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and always stocked. The sites were nicely spaced that you didn't feel overcrowded and it was quiet which was great. Definitely will stay again if we are in that area again.

It was a beautifully worded site. I would definitely return. We came from the coast about six hours away. It was very easy to get to and an opportunity to see Jefferson’s home.

The campground was great. It was however in the middle of nowhere

Sites need some landscape work. Other facilities are very nice!

Sites are not defined. The CG says gravel sites, but their was more grass and weeds on the site than gravel. Lower site where we where directed to where not very level (26-35). Poor drainage, like the CG needs attention. KOA needs to go back to their inspections & reviews. Recent stays at KOA have not lived up to the KOA standard I remember

We stay at KOAs all the time , in different states. This KOA was a little less than great . I have never written a bad review on a KOA and this isn't a bad review, it is a honest review based on our experience. The road entering is also the exit its very narrow only allowing one camper at a time to enter ot exit. The sites are close ,pool has a fence with razor wire on top. It is in a beautiful

Absolutely the prettiest, most well kept KOA we have stated at. The staff was super friendly, you can tell they’ve been sprucing the place up. Sites are well spaced and it’s very very big rig friendly. Pool is super nice. We will definitely be back! And there were NO LONG TERM CAMPERS! Was very nice to not see run down campsites as you see at other KOAs. Thank you for the great experience

Pool way too far away. No dog stations around camp Otherwise good campground. People were very friendly and helpful

Not a Holiday KOA! Lacks up to date facilities. No staff presence. Dirt roads. Just not up to KOA Holiday standards.

Nice campground spacious sites, called a month ahead of time for buddy site and they made it happen. We were awning to awning with our friends with plenty of room one between. This will be our go to in that area, used to go to misty mountain but they could care less when there sewer backed up all over me could have been worse in my camper. Whoever reads this review defintley give it a chance

The Stanley family needs to put some of the money they get from the campers to level and clean the weeds on each site. A dump truck should do the trick and doesn’t cost much. The pool needs to be retired. The paint that was used on the existing tiles is coming off and getting on swimmers skin. Pluse the tiles are dirty, there is a bathtub ring around the entire thing. Ew!

Very run down!!! Weeds everywhere, needs paint, a few flowers would be nice, pool area is horrible, playground is laughable, grass growing thru all the gravel, etc. However, the bathrooms are very nice. How this passes KOA standards is beyond me!! Your $90 a night in reality should be $40!!!!!

Nice remote campground with good amenities. Close to Monticello and other historic sites. Beautiful pool! Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is roadway leaving the campground can be dangerous due to curve in road and cars and trucks traveling too fast. We were almost hit exiting the campground.

Everything was a little dated besides the camp store and bathrooms. The nature trail did not have an exit and could barely get to the pond with the overgrowth. Some planned activities would be a positive addition to your facility. On the plus side the campground was pretty quiet and friendly.

Everybody is very friendly and if you ever need help you get it! The campground is a very nice place to be with the family.

This is a small campground with unusual campsites, in my opinion, but nice. We had shade and privacy. It seems to be a good vacation spot!

The staff members were unwelcoming, which is unusual for most KAO establishments. Although we were told they were booked on the phone and website, there were plenty of available slots. As a family of four, we were charged an additional $20.00 for an extra guest fee.

We came to stay at this KOA because of the location to the nearby Monroe Highland and Jefferson’s Monticello and interesting town of Scottsville. The park is maintained very nicely. With the temperatures in the high 90s the well kept pool was a welcome experience. Thank you for your services in providing a great visit.

When the campground calls to make sure you follow their directions rather than GPS, you best pay attention. Very nice campground, manager gave us a choice of sites, all were good. We’ll be back

The campground is small. Most of the roads are somewhat narrow. That made it a little tricky to navigate. Otherwise it was nice, quiet and clean.

Very first time camping. camp ground was very nice and quiet, easy pull in and hook up. no issues would go back again. very close to Charlottesville but far enough away to not have to deal with traffic or crowds

Enjoyed camping in the woods! Generous space between sites. Restrooms were spotless.

We stopped over for one night on our way to Maryland but we loved the area and the peaceful night and decided we would definitely return.

Nice campground with decent space between sites. Since it's the second oldest KOA there are plenty of grown trees with shade. Great place for a quiet relaxing stay.
