Campground Reviews

WiFi was terrible! Couldn’t get a good connection. Also the dog park was pathetic and although it wasn’t swim season the pool area looked sad.

This review has been removed by KOA due to profanity.

Nice quiet campground

It was a little pricey for what we got. We didn't use any amenities, and the sites were just gravel with a little bit of grass. Full hookups were great!

Our stay got cut short due to RV problems. Staff very understandable and offered help. We definitely will be returning. Very clean and well kept!

Wonderful wilderness KOA park. This place offers the perfect place to experience camping in a forest setting. The sites are roomy and level. Close to wineries and historical locations such as Thomas Jefferson’s and James Monroe’s homes and museums. I highly recommend this rv park.

Very nice campground for more than an overnight on the road stay. They need better signage to tell big rigs where to stop while checking in.

Nice campground in a quiet, beautiful, remote area. Friendly hosts.

Close tight spaces near the road but very friendly and helpful staff. It was a great stay. The area surrounding it is beautiful.

Hidden gem, quiet and peaceful. Only stayed one night, site was pull thru and level.

This is one of our favourite KOAs. The washrooms are lovely well designed and clean. The sites are on hills but very level and pretty location all around. Always like staying here!

I really enjoyed my stay. It was my first time at the Charlottesville KOA, and I couldn’t have been happier. The campground is beautiful and well maintained. I was impressed with the site and will definitely be coming back again in the future. Thank you for your warm hospitality!

Great place. Wish they had more patio spots. The pool is nice. Small play ground and bouncy pad for kids. The location is great. Close to Trump, Jefferson, Micheal Chaps, Wisdom Oak wineries. A few others also. Great place to relax. Close to Charlottesville. Lots to see and do around Charlottesville if you like history.

The campground was wonderful. Very clean, and level sites. You can tell where they have done some recent work. We camped in late March, but can imagine how beautiful the area will be in the spring and summer. Very quiet area for being so close to Charlottesville

This KOA is welcoming and has spacious sites. This is our second stay here. It is quiet and you are not bothered by Al the security lights at night. -you can see the stars.

After an unusually long trip due to a closure of the interstate (someone had a bad accident) we arrived after dark. Thankfully we had been assigned a pull-thru space and I had enough experience to set up in the dark with minimal difficulty. Nice campground, pleasant stay of several days. Not what I would call a resort campground but family friendly. Lots of trees (nice) and well maintained.

We stayed 5 nights. Quiet location in the country, slept great! Nice nature trail around the campground, but it needs some attention. This KOA is a Holiday, but other than the pool, it’s more like a Journey. Only 1 bathhouse, they could use 1 or 2 more. The gravel needs to be regraded in all the sites, spray for weeds, thin out the vegetation so it’s attractive again.

We stayed in a cabin and it was very nice. We found the cabin to be clean, very roomy, bathroom was good size, the shower was roomy, with lots of pressure and hot water. Everything was exactly as it was listed. We will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful sites nice and level. We were there in the fall and the leaves were beautiful. Very quiet camping I would recommend this place to my friends. My only recommendation would be that you could use more lights for walking after dark.

Campground was clean, sites level. Office staff was helpful and restrooms were spotless. I even received a call the day before our arrival to remind us of bridge work in progress and what route to take. Over and above! We will be back!

We love this park—nice size, spacious sites, quiet. We wanted to stay longer but they were booked up for the weekend. Would definitely recommend & will be returning!

Such a great place! Perfectly located so you get the true camping experience but are also close to lots of things to do and places to visit! I will definitely come back!

Nice and quiet. Site was level. Very unique campground. I liked how they kept as many trees as they have.

Always a welcoming place to stay. Nice level sites. Staff always super nice and polite, very helpful. The campground is located within a few miles of Carter Mountain Orchard, Scottsville, and so much more. Before we visited we read some reviews not sure about the meaning behind political signs because there were none on the grounds. We love that they make sure quiet hours are just that.

Campground was just fine. Site was perfect! Wifii worked great with our new Firestick, as did the cable tv in the other room. Bathrooms seemed clean when we used them at check-out. Would return again to visit more of the area - hiking, golfing, breweries, & wineries.

I think we had the best site in the campground. It was a great back in with plenty of space. Our kids weren’t with us, but there would have been activities that could have kept them occupied, if needed. Every staff member was friendly and informative. The bathrooms and shower areas were super clean, well maintained, and up to date.

Nice well kept campground. Will continue to stay here whenever we're in town.

Nice quiet and peaceful. Lots of pull through sites. Bathroom facilities were well kept and staff was friendly.

Love this campground! Owner came to my site and helped me with an electrical problem. Refused to take money but told me we could donate to the cancer for kids program KOA sponsors. Happy to donate! Sites are in the woods and quiet. Only improvement I would suggest is to improve the Wi-Fi Campground is convenient to attractions in Charlottesville.

We have camped here several times and have enjoyed every visit.

Very nice campground, very quiet this time of year, few children, sites could seem tight when all are full, all utilities were good. Lots of the guests were just 1 or 2 overnights. Site was gravel and required tire pads to keep the tires on the ground when level.

Nice campground with decent space between sites. Since it's the second oldest KOA there are plenty of grown trees with shade. Great place for a quiet relaxing stay.
