Nice park. Very quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Women’s bathroom had showers with nice hot water, just not much pressure. I would go again.

Pros: The pool area was very nice! The entire property was covered in beautiful flowers and lovely trees. The office employees were extremely helpful and wonderful. The bathrooms had nice hot water and ac units to keep them comfortable. Cons: The grass tent site was primarily dirt. Lots of ants/bees in our campsite. Campground in a very urban area with lots of city noise.

Smooth check in. A quiet camp and the sites were a good size. We didn't use any of the facilities but the pool looked clean and furniture was clean.

We were scheduled to stay 5/11-5/23 but changed campgrounds 5/14 because we didn’t feel this KOA was as clean and as safe as KOAs typically are. We’ve always defaulted to staying at koas because we think we know they’ll be nice. This koa has taught us we can’t assume all koas are nice.

We would have been happy to help with any issues you had during your stay. Unfortunately we can't do anything about standing water in the lowcountry during the rain.

It is great going to bed and hearing five gun shots before you lock your camper door and seeing individuals obviously not a camper walking around your vehicle. Would NOT recommend staying here. Horrible and pulled out as soon as sun came up.

We stayed here for 1 night while we were traveling home. The campground staff were very friendly, the site was nice & quiet and the facilities were very clean. It was a very convenient and comfortable stay.

Reserved site for a 39ft fifth wheel and they put me in a heavily treed small site location when the park had very limited guests and multiple large sites available during the duration of our stay. Sites also had many low spots which resulted in pools of water around your rig. With minimal park maintenance, this could have been avoided. Would not recommend this location!

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We would have been happy to find you a different site if you would have brought your concerns to the office staff. Unfortunately living in the lowcountry puddling and standing water are unavoidable after a day of rain.

Third or fourth time we have stayed at this KOA. Older RV park and not much has been done for the upkeep.

Stayed for 3 nights. Nice place, clean bath/shower rooms. Daily trash pick up. Dog run area close by. A little far away from Patriots Point and historic area, with heavy traffic to and from. But it is what it is given the size of the Charelston metro area.

Campground was very well maintained, bathrooms were clean and modern, pool is very nice and clean and is important to me. Free coffee in the morning is great and the staff is friendly. What more could you want from a campground.

Fatima was friendly and professional at Checkin. Site was great but that first night was infested with ants that bit my wife. Next morning the grounds crew kindly treated the site for the ants that fixed the problem. Pool area was very nice but pool was cold. Playground for the kids was nice.

Pool is great. Showers and restrooms clean and well kept. Decent size Kamp K9. Ample shaded spots. Friendly staff. Security at night. Location is a ways outside of Charleston, which is a challenge to return from if you hit the afternoon rush.

The KOA was great...just wish it had been a little closer to old Charleston as it takes about an hour of slow driving if leaving those sites anytime after 3pm or so. Otherwise, a nice stay.

WOW. What a difference a few months make. New management has really cleaned this place up. The grounds are now being kept clean and well maintained. Dog Park was clean. New kids area. Still has the rundown trailer park and their trash to look at.....right next door with the kids riding bikes and using the campground. NOT COOL. Too bad they don't blow clean the sites in between guests.

Our site was level. The fire ring had been removed. Them picnic tables was attached to a board that looked like it couldn't be moved. Park is okay for overnight stay put major repairs need to be addressed. Staff very friendly.

I wished the weather was better. It was rough at setting the RV on the rain and the side was muddy with water. Other than that, it was fine.

This was my first time staying at a KOA. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The campsites were beautiful, organized and clean. I will definitely be making KOA campgrounds one of the first on my list to check for availability in my future journeys. Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful stay.

lots of stray cats… And lazy staff. This place looks like a homeless camp. KOA should be ashamed to be affiliated. I would only recommend animal control and health department make a visit.

We were attending a local hockey game & stayed at the Charleston KOA in our Van. This campground is convent to everything. The staff is very friendly. The park is very clean & easy to access

Love this KOA… but bathhouse has degraded remarkably in past year. Lots of damage inside from broken hangers to cuts in walls with knife. Three people knocked on door and requested admission that appeared not to be staying. Also fire ants were widest on sites as well as at the pool.

Nice facility, very well maintained. Location is good for visiting Charleston, with hiking and shopping in the area. Traffic noise was pretty bad, which is the only reason I haven’t rated it higher.

Love the campground but Charleston is way too busy of a city for me. The campground is nice and quiet and a perfect getaway. You don't even realize you are close to a big city. Thanks for having us.

I received two notices on my door concerning our dog. On your notice we received were highlights of a multitude of violations and because of this my wife and I just assumed it was for dog barking. It would be nice if the author would list specifically the reason for the notice and not just highlight the whole paragraph. The maintenance department went above and beyond to help us with two issue

Beautiful place. Not far off the interstate but quiet and peaceful, you would never know it.

Update 7/7/2026 This KOA has improved since 5 years ago. Cleaned up, a little more gravel (could used more to cover the mud). Salt water pool. Lawn is looking good and well kept. There are a lot of permanent residents but they are in the back. No accumulated junk very nicely kept. Full hookups WiFi spotty. Pricy at $73 a night. 5 years ago: Best KOA we have stayed in so far. They received an extra star just for the staff. They were very helpful accommodating and responsive to concerns. Most sites are pretty close together but for KOA they are above average. Campground is well kept we had 50amp water sewer and cable. They have a swimming pool and garbage service at your rig. Enough room to maneuver big rigs. Pricey at a little over $70 a night with 10% discount. I'm not sure how that compares for the area.

Stayed here for 5 days. Beautiful campsites, friendly neighbors. Washer and dryer are workable. Friendly staff in camp store. Free coffee every morning. Pool was warm. Patio site was leveled.

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.
