Easy access to everything you want to visit. Extremely well cared for property and their amenities were awesome. We were very happy with our stay in this park!!

Easy check in, nice, clean campground, noisy due to closeness to a very busy road.

We were in a bad situation with a broken windshield on our motorhome so we had to stay until it got repaired, which took eight weeks. The campground was very pleasant. The staff were accommodating and very, very respectful. We love this campground and we would definitely love to come back for a vacation instead of a bad situation. But thank you to The staff at KOA Charleston for the support

Campground very well kept, nice variety of site types. Location can be a problem if sensitive to noise, lots of sirens at varying times of the day. Overall, good place to stay.

We've camped for over 30 years. Have 3 smaller dogs and every campground We've stayed has allowed a small pen, fenced area, on our site. Keeping a dog on a leash the entire time they are outside is inhumane and simply ignorant of someone to expect. We will never stay at a KOA and will recommend the same to our pet loving friends.

The inability to set up my dog pen meant having to get dressed put on dog harness and leash made for 2 bad days. Then taking dogs to dog walk prior to going to bed the light when it worked didn’t shine very far making it hard to see my pets and clean up after them. There are nicer parks in the Charleston area but this was the most convenient.

Clean, quiet and convenient. A few long term residents but sites were well kept. Police patrol at night. I little tight for bigger rigs. There were low hanging tree limbs encroaching on the roads that can be an issue for taller rigs (we are 13’ 4”). The campground was pretty full for a special event in town but the WiFi was still descent. Good cell service. Bathrooms were clean. Thumbs up!

We prefer the quiet more laid back setting. This was just that.

Once the office closed, the kids park was crazy with LOTS of kids that were not staying in the park. At night was sketchy with people roaming around, odd cars, trucks and vans parked by office and front. There were aggressive dogs there staying at sites. The location was perfect for us and convenient to many things.

Wonderful green and spacious sites. Close to all site seeing.

This was our first experience at a KOA campground and we really enjoyed it. Camp staff was great! We had an electrical problem on arrival and the Camp maintenance staff fixed it very quickly. Although the Dog Park could be in a little bit better shape, everything else about the camp was great! We definitely will be using KOA in the future, and hope that other campgrounds made the same standards!

Got stuck along the fence with the trailer park. Constant smell of weed and filth along with music and a block party every night in front of the campground. On top of that, got put beside some rundown junky camper in the KOA that fed and housed about 20 feral cats. Left the campground with mud and cat hair all over the hoods of our vehicles from cats climbing on them. Will not EVER stay again.

We stayed for 2 1/2 weeks while visiting family in the area. The pool was clean, and enjoyable. The campground was very quiet, which was appreciated.

Was a clean campground that was a good spot to stay to see the sites in Charleston

Very friendly staff. We liked the effort to help feral cats who help with the rodent population. They were also very entertaining. The campground was quiet and clean.

I gave this KOA a 4 as they put me in a site that was too short I had to angle my truck to barely fit.

There is too much noise from the road nearby (motorcycles, cars etc) as well as air traffic. It was difficult to find peace with the noise

Loved our stay!! Very quiet and clean and friendly!!!

Charleston KOA is a solid campground with everything you need to camp. It is a small campground with trees so you feel like you are in nature - not a parking lot.

Update 7/7/2026 This KOA has improved since 5 years ago. Cleaned up, a little more gravel (could used more to cover the mud). Salt water pool. Lawn is looking good and well kept. There are a lot of permanent residents but they are in the back. No accumulated junk very nicely kept. Full hookups WiFi spotty. Pricy at $73 a night. 5 years ago: Best KOA we have stayed in so far. They received an extra star just for the staff. They were very helpful accommodating and responsive to concerns. Most sites are pretty close together but for KOA they are above average. Campground is well kept we had 50amp water sewer and cable. They have a swimming pool and garbage service at your rig. Enough room to maneuver big rigs. Pricey at a little over $70 a night with 10% discount. I'm not sure how that compares for the area.

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.
