The location is sketchy. There were migrant workers living in the campground. It’s right next to a rundown trailer park. The cable didn’t work four three days of the four we were there. Stray cats were everywhere.

Unfortunately we did have a break in the cable line that took some time to locate and fix. Staff would have been happy to help with any other concerns you had with your staff. We can only fix what is brought to our attention.

Staff was very friendly and polite but the campsites are to small. Our picnic table at beside our neighbor's sewer hose. There was no fire ring on our site and the one behind us was so close that if those neighbor's had used it the heat might have damaged our rv.

Nice place except for the dozen or so cats running around loose. Traffic in the area is horrible, no fault of the campground, just a warning.

The site we were assigned was muddy and pooled water when it rained. The site needed more gravel, so we didn't need to walk through mud. In addition, the sewer hookup is almost 12 inches above the ground which makes it almost impossible to drain the tanks. We had to move to a different site to be able to dump the tanks. This is a very poor setup. This being a Holiday location surprised me.

When it rains in the lowcountry it takes a bit of time for us to dry out. Our staff is always happy to find a more accommodating site for you.

We were camping and placed back at the end of the loop with a long walk to the bathroom. The road noise was very loud, police were in and out, the campground is right next to a mobile home park an there was a lot of sketchy activity and people going on. On the plus side, the bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The stay was not restful and we will not return to that campground.

My wife and I were traveling south to Florida as Hurricane Helene was making its way north from Florida. We made a last minute reservation at the Charleston KOA hoping to avoid the storm. We ran into rain as we drove from Gaffney to the the KOA, but made it fine. The camp office workers checked us in, and because we were staying just one night they changed our site to a paved pull-through.

This place was disgusting. One trailer had 8 cats living outside pooping everywhere. There were 2 trailers with 8 doors that looked like they were housing illegals. We slept with a loaded gun because we felt so unsafe. We were supposed to stay 4 nights but only stayed one. We did get a refund for the 3 nights.

I am sorry if you felt unsafe. If you would have to come to the office and discussed any issues you were having we would have gladly helped. With the fair in town we do have some workers stay with us which we NEVER have problems with.

I was visiting family in the area. I go every March and October, this was my third visit and everything was great.

It's a illegal migrant compound. The noise and mess made it impossible for us to stay. We paid and left. People should be warned about this it's not safe. I've never in my life felt so unsafe. Shut it down now. I would never expect this from KOA. I want a refund.

We are located near the fair grounds and during that time we have some of the workers stay with us. We NEVER have had any problems with them. If you had any issues with your stay you could have come to the office at anytime to discuss those.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very nice campground. Very friendly and professional office and grounds staff. We enjoyed the dog park. Everything was very clean. Nice office and amenities. Will definitely stay here again.

I was disappointed that this KOA was a Holiday. Every Holiday we’ve stayed at was nice and well kept. It’s got to be the smallest campground ever. Water was turned off a day. Employees not very friendly.

Unfortunately the water situation was out of our control and a city issue. Luckily we were made aware of it so we could give our guest a days notice to prepare as needed for the outage.

Coming in to the KOA there were overhanging palm trees scrape the RV's. The KOA is located directly beside a NASTY trailer park. There is no security gate.Upon check in they just pointed too where the site was with no golf cart escort to our site The camp ground has permanent campers, 2 of the worked for a tow truck company and came and went after quit time.Small sites.My last stay at this KOA!!

The stay was great. Clean and kept up nicely. Very close to all the historic sites in Charleston without have to be in crowded areas. Would definitely recommend it to others.

I counted no less then 9 feral cats hanging around the campground area adjacent to the mobile home park. A camper (likely permanent) keeps food and water for the cats. The cats had free roam of the entire campsite and used it as their litter box. My dogs enjoyed trying to eat all that cat scat. No fun. The rest of the site was clean and acceptable, but the cat issue ruined our stay.

The campground was nice the employees very friendly but ......more security would be NICE !! we did not have any problems but were told stealing had been happening when coming in to the KOA off the highway the mobile home park next door doesn't give a very good impression of either park : (

Thanks to a very understanding crew that assisted a very stressed camper. The maintenance staff ensured that all systems were working while my husband was in the hospital with a life threatening emergency operation A special shout out to Rich and Bill who got my sewage set up and took turns driving me to and from the hospital. They are both caring and wonderful workers who deserve the praise

We have stayed here several times. It is very convenient to the Summerville and Charleston areas. It is a plain and simple campground, clean and taken care of. The staff is very helpful.

Needs better/some security! Only place I've ever been where the employees recommended putting bicycles locked in club house because of theft. The employees were fantastic!

Limbs over the road going to our site rub the top of the motorhome The continuous length. Advertise as having horseshoe pits. The pics were there but no pins. The office help did not think they were going to put the pins back in. If so they should take it off their website.

We found this KOA to be very unkempt, site was full of leaves, branches and rocks. We asked about putting up a small fence for our dog so she could sit outside with us and was told that as long as someone was at the RV, yes we could put the fence up. The night before we were to leave, we were to"d that is we weren’t sitting outside in the fence it had to take it down. Just stupid!

There was no fire ring in our RV site. Utilities were at the back of the camper, which I did not care for. Cable didn’t work. And located next to a trailer park all in all won’t stay here again.

It’s a nice park, however, some sites are quite cramped.. staff was nice, friendly, helpful. Laundry area was a little outdated but worked well. Bathrooms were clean and somewhat modern. They sell firewood, propane, and have a nice store. Convenient location. Quiet at night.

Arrived Friday, after Hurricane Helene blew thru. Thankfully we had power! Though our site was cleaned up from the debris many other areas were not. Especially the dog park where I threw all the downed branches over the fence for them to pick up. (still there when we left Monday at 11). Garbage at the dog park was not emptied the 3 nights we stayed so it was quite stinky and over flowing.

We were lucky to only get the tail end of the hurricane. It did still leave us with a bit of debris clean up. With a limited staff it took a bit of time to reset the campground, making sure occupied sites came first in maintenance.

The guy in the campsite behind ours was feeding 9 cats. They would wander onto our campsite causing our dog to bark like crazy. On our last morning there, I was walking her over by the dump station and one of the cats was hiding in the pompous grass and she saw it. She almost pulled my arm out of socket to run after it. The dog park is in a very remote area and not ideal for many campers.

Internet did not work. The camper next to us had two big dogs that barked non stop when you went outside when the owner wasn't home so we could not sit outside. Not a great location and cats all over the campground sitting on picnic tables/

The ground was very clean. It was real quiet at night no disturbances. I have not Stayed. At a Nicer Campground and a long time. better campground than that one.

We had a great Memorial Day stay! The pool was fantastic..lots of room and loved the hammocks. The staff was very friendly and responded immediately to any request we had. It was an easy drive to downtown Charleston and Mt Pleasant. It did rain and there was some pooling of water around some of our campers, but it drained quickly...after all it is called the "low country". Would definitely stay again. Update: we just stayed again for the 6th year in a row. They have stepped up their game with a few new additions around the campground and a dedicated maintenance crew that is on top of it. Highly recommend.

We enjoy our time at KOAs, however everything about this one was "off" in so many little ways which is not typical of the KOA brand. First it started with bad set of Google map directions in the welcome email which sent us 10 miles to a private residence. If you Google "Charleston KOA" for directions, it sends you to the correct location. Secondly, the tent site A10 is a parking logistics nightmare because of the close proximity of a metal grill, tree, shrub, dog waste container, and large RVs in the row across from our site. If a vehicle was in A11, our car doors would have hit each other due to the 2 feet difference in our adjacent gravel parking pads. An 8 foot fence does a good job of blocking out the ridiculously bright gas station floodlights. But the fence does not block the frequent emergency vehicle sirens from the highway (I've never heard so many sirens at night!) The bathrooms literally sparkles and are squeaky clean, however, do not hope for water pressure and hair shampooing in these showers (you'll want the phone # to their cleaning lady because she does such a great job!) Everyone is super friendly here and the curbside trash pickup was very nice amenity. The grounds are neat and tidy, water and electric at each site was convenient.
